The Eliteserien Fantasy returns with Gameweek 23, and our contributors are here to share their thoughts ahead of the upcoming deadline.

In this article, they reveal their teams, along with their captaincy choices, potential chip strategies, and the players they believe can make the biggest impact this week.

NOTES

  • The international break hasn’t caused too many problems for my Eliteserien squad, so I’m sticking with my original plan and rolling the transfer.
  • That gives me another week to decide what to do with Eirik Hestad and Isak Dahlqvist. Both have been on my bench for the last three rounds, but I’m happy to make it four. I’m satisfied with my starting XI for now.
  • The following round could be more important, with Bodø/Glimt and Viking both facing Champions League fixtures either side of it. Having an extra free transfer available could prove crucial, particularly if rotation becomes an issue.
  • There’s also a chance Hestad will have recovered and Dahlqvist will have regained his starting spot by then. Both have favourable home fixtures, so I’d rather wait another week before making any decisions.
  • Amin Chiakha takes the captaincy this round, as I fancy Rosenborg to do well at home against Sandefjord.
  • Andreas Helmersen is certainly tempting, though, with Bodø/Glimt hosting Kristiansund in an even better fixture. My main concern is potential rotation or early substitutions, as they’ll want to keep players fresh for their Champions League commitments.

NOTES

  • It’s a pretty straightforward week for me, and I’m almost certainly rolling the transfer. I’m happy with how the squad looks, so there’s no real need to make any changes.
  • With reports suggesting Andreas Helmersen could be benched, I’ve decided to leave him on my bench too.
  • The toughest decision was between Marcus Reed and Alexander Warneryd. I’ve gone with Reed, who has been really impressive recently. Tromsø have also struggled defensively, which makes the fixture appealing. It’s a close call, though, and I could easily see either player doing well.
  • The rest of the team pretty much picks itself. Amin Chiakha takes the captaincy, as he looks like the standout option with an excellent fixture.
  • Zlatko Tripić is tempting too, because, well, he’s Tripić! We all know what he’s capable of.
  • I’m also happy to head into next week with four free transfers. That should give me plenty of flexibility to shuffle things around if needed.

NOTES

  • After a three-week international break, I’m planning to roll my transfer. That will leave me with three free transfers to cover any unexpected injuries or suspensions in the coming rounds.
  • Amin Chiakha takes the captaincy this week. Rosenborg are in good form and face a Sandefjord side that have struggled defensively. Chiakha is the Eliteserien’s leading goalscorer, while the bookmakers give him around a 70% chance of scoring anytime. That makes him the standout captaincy option for me.
