On a very windy afternoon, last-placed Sunderland are welcoming Leeds United to the Stadium of Light, closing out Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 8.

It kicks off at 16:30 GMT.

TEAM NEWS

When speaking to the media on Friday, Daniel Farke raised doubts over the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor.

Well, the highly-owned FPL forward starts, while the other two are on the bench, replaced by Harry Wilson and Brenden Aaronson. Leeds also bring in Jaka Bijol for Nico Elvedi.

Meanwhile, Sunderland make their own three changes from Gameweek 7. Brian Brobbey is back, having missed the latest two league encounters. Luke O’Nien and Nilson Angulo come in, with Omar Alderete, Tymur Tutierov and the banned Kevin Danso making way.

LINE-UPS

Sunderland XI: Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, O’Nien, Reinildo; Xhaka, Sadiki; Le Fée; Rigg, Brobbey, Angulo

Subs: Ellborg, Methalie, Alderete, Diarra, Ahoka, Talbi, Fofana, Riquelme, Tutierov

Leeds United XI: Trafford; Justin, Bijol, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Wilson, Aaronson; Calvert-Lewin

Subs: Zetterer, Cresswell, Bard, Longstaff, Gruev, Stach, Okafor, Bahoya, Nmecha

Do we have an update on JP's injury? How long is he likely to be out for?

Any early indication on severity of Pedro injury lads? Not seeing much on it.

It's just with 2 game weeks until internationals, if we are hanging on for what will essentially be one match or maybe none, would rather swap out and asses to bring back in after the break..

Unless, it's not too severe and likely to return in some capacity next week vs United. Early thoughts?

Regret selling Isak for Thiago the week Isak returned thinking he still had injury, since then he has been scoring regularly and Thiago only assisting and getting yellow carded

The board is the problem, largely for appointing Carrick. There is nothing on his CV saying he's capable of managing a club of this size, he was fired by Middlesborough for heavens sakes. It was the convenient and cheap choice rather than the smart one. They got CL football largely because of everyone else around failing, having done that they should have brought in an experienced head and guaranteed a four year path to top three regularly. Arteta had four years, a great Director of Football armed with endless cash to get Arsenal in a place to win something. That United think they can shortcut that is half the problem. This summer was the time, qualified manager, sell Fernandes and cash in on him, get out the dregs like Shaw and Maguire and move forward knowing that mid table is likely the next two seasons.

But Carrick has to go, he's so completely out of his depth.

no love for doku here? Cherki breathes in the wrong direction and maresca scolds him, foden is lightweight and seemingly prefers playing centrally, same can be said for chekri and ndiaye is getting dragged off for a youngster when they need a goal. doku seems like the most maresca type winger left. allan abit too inexperienced. doku was dragged off vs psg tbf but he had just returned from injury

    Tempted for WC to:

    Raya Verbruggen
Konsa Calafiori De Cuyper Muha Ven Hecke
Rogers Manzambi Gross Tav 8.5 mid
    JP Jackson Haaland

or same as above bus Isak instead of Jackson and a 6.2 mid.

    Thoughts?
