The FFS Uefa group has been privileged to organise several team gamesย for the benefit of the FFS community in recent years with a variety of themes, from getting the most from the Transfer Window to international Hockey. After the success of these competitions, we are delighted to return with yet another one. And this time we return with a format based on the gentlemanโs game โ and introduce the FFS Cricket World Cup 2015.
WHO IS IT FOR?
All posters of the Fantasy Football Scout community. Anyone who plays FPL can join the fun.
CRICKET? AND FPL? HOW DOES THAT WORK?
So. There are 12ย teams in total. Each team has 15 players each.ย Like FPL, there are 11 playing squad members and four on the bench.
A teamโs total runs scoredย in a particular Gameweek is the sum of the individual 11 players FPL scores in that GW.
Then, two teams go head-to-headย and the team with the higher runsย scored wins the particular clash.
WHEN DOES THE TOURNAMENT RUN?
The tournament runs from GW31 โ GW38,ย according to theย real Cricketย World Cupย format.

WHATโS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS TOURNAMENT?
This game is aimed to bring out the โteamโ element to the fore, just like how it works in the real world. A teamโs success isnโtย dependentย on one player alone after all.
As much as itโs a team game, leadership is so crucial. Each team will be led by a captain and a vice-captain, guided by a manager.
- The managerย is the know-it-all, who will answer any questions you may have during the course of the tournament. He will also have frequent strategic discussions with the captain. The managerย is also the link of every team with the organizers. They have been chosen by the organizersย for their valuable understanding of the game. The managerย also submits his playing XIย every week prior to the squad submission deadline.
- The captainย is the face of the team. He/she is the one who scouts the players (including vice-captain) for his team. Along with the manager, he/she decides the playing XI every week. Also, in the case of a tie in a particular clash, the captainโs FPL score is the tie-breaker.
- The vice-captainย will deputize for the captain in his absence and share his responsibility where apt. Every captain has either already or will be picking their vice-captains.

Over the course of the Gameweek, you will have the chance to view the live scorecards of each team (similar toย Scorecast for the HWC). This is brought to you by Pratik. There will also be some features like Twitter feeds and Chatango.ย More updates on this will follow.
HOW CAN I JOIN A TEAM?
The Scouting period for the teams runs from now until 2ndย April. Basically itโs a period when each team will be scouting for players (along with their FPL IDs).ย The squads will then be announced on 3rdย April.
You can also approach a captain, vice-captain or a managerย to join the team of your interest. If you check theย squad page, most of the teams have linked their Twitter or Email IDs. Places are likely to run off quickly. So if youโd like to express your interest, the time is now!
