Earlier this week, Mondogoal very kindly launched a contest for this weekend in honour of Doosra’s ongoing recovery from illness.

For those who don’t know, Doosra has been a long-standing and active member of the Fantasy Football Scout community for many years. He was recently taken ill and has been hospitilised for several weeks.

The special contest takes place over this coming Gameweek. It’s £5 to enter, you can enter more than one team right up until 12.35 on Saturday.

All proceeds from this contest will be distributed to Doosra’s family and/or charity of their choosing.

The winner of this contest will receive a special West Ham United Prize Pack that includes:

  • A West Ham United Team-Signed Jersey
  • A West Ham United Team-Signed Football
  • Match Tickets to see West Ham United v. Everton on the final home fixture of the season at Boleyn Ground on the May 16.

If you select a team for that, you may want to enter it in Mondogoal’s big £30,000 World Championship: a contest that will run on the final day of the season, awarding £10,000 to the winner.

How Does it Work?

So far, 71 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with 99 places still up for grabs. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select you line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obviously increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

FF Scout Gameweek 31 Picks

mg

You’ll find our line-ups in Doosra’s contest and the Championship Qualifiers this week, as we continue our quest to seal an entry into Mondogoal’s final day event.

Our current line-up looks to be a well-balanced XI, set up in the familiar 3-4-3 formation.

We’ve opted to spend on Branislav Ivanovic in our defence at home to Stoke, a pricey purchase enabled by Kasper Schmeichel’s exceptionally kind 3.5 million tag for his home tie with West Ham. Ryan Taylor is our surprise package in defence – he looks an assured starter for the Wear-Tyne derby and we’re selecting him on the basis of his set-piece delivery and the memories of his deadball winner in the encounter back in 2011.

In midfield, we’ve stuck with the goal-getting, foul-drawing potential of Eden Hazard, despite his hugely inflated 19.1 million valuation. Luckily, Marouane Fellaini and Yannick Bolasie both come cheap to make up the numbers, while we’ve also opted for Andros Townsend off the back of his wonder strike for England in the week – he’ll take his goal threat to Burnley at the weekend and we’re backing him to produce again.

With Townsend providing the Spurs cover, up front, we’ve gone for Sergio Aguero over Harry Kane. We’ve partnered the Argentine with a pair of differentials in Bafetimbi Gomis and Saido Berahino – the duo boast strong home fixtures and are up against defences that should grant them shots aplenty.

As always, we’ll be tinkering with our lineups right up until deadline at 12.35, ahead of the opening fixture in the Gameweek at the Emirates.

Get involved here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

“Diego trained yesterday and today with the group. He's not injured, but I don't know if I start with him or not because, obviously, muscular injuries - just two days with the group - I need to analyse the situation with him and make a decision. But the medical department is empty.

“Diego is selected, that's for sure.

“We can say we did all the tests and scans to confirm, two days ago, scientifically the situation and at this moment the muscle is fine."

      I think he'll start personally.

Hey guys, any advice for my team? I haven't been actively following things during the international break so I'm a bit unsure.

    2FT 0.9ITB (WC left)

    Foster* // Myhill
    Koscielny // Fonte // Rose // Zouma // PVA
    Hazard // Silva // Özil // Eriksen // Moses*
    Kun // Giroud // Kane

Thinking of Kos to Terry this GW and save the other FT? That should leave me enough to do Zouma, Özil, Giroud to cheapie, Siggy/Mane, Costa during the next two GWs for free.

Hazard is tired, but that could just be mourinho blabbering. Although, Belgium coach thought so too. Consider this before the final deadline.

Eriksen is playing burnley, conceded at least once in the last 14 gw, could be wrong. Read that somewhere, mane is playing an Everton team that seems to concede easily this season.

Doesn't matter. I got a lot of the good picks early so I've a few quid floating around. Why does it matter how much a player costs on your bench anyway ?...I've never understood that.

simply as the more he costs the higher likelyhood of points on the bench

Seriously...It's the biggest reason I miss out on pts....I see loads of cheap picks during the season bit end up playing the expensive player. The fact is that it's a bloke playing football with a pair of boots on...How much FPL values him at is neither here nor there...

Chelsea still have Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool. If Jose plays his normal way there will 3points out of those.

Good point. I wouldn't put it past LvG to snatch it after a poor start. He has a recurring history of doing that...

All it needs is for Chelsea to get two draws out of those and everyone can close 4pts, then it gets to nerves. As big as Chelsea are they don't have that many big time winners in the squad yet.

Any Sanchez owners left here? Whats the plan? Keep him next 2 or sell for who? Mane and Siggy seems to be popular choices. Any else worth considering?

Me o/ However i'm thinking of switching him to Hazard. Mane/Siggy/Mata/Fellaini only options in a sea of mediocrity atm. No one standing out.

Tempted to switch to Fell or Siggy but only cos I have 2FT's and have to use one. Doesn't fill me with confidence losing him though.

Fell has Man City (H) next. Siggy has Everton (H). Sanchez has Burnley (a). Still wanna change?
