So many negative nellies pre DGW week on here. Thank goodness I trusted the gut and punted on super Matty Phillips!

(Won't talk about benching Ozil and Bellerin)

Who's your favourite DGW pick of all time?

I think Benteke may have just taken that award.

A relative differential who scores 4 goal as your captain is tough to beat.

I very nearly got him also but went for Sinclair instead. Having the extra 0.6m to just afford Sinclair probably swayed me. Doh!

I was pretty chuffed with Austin (c) this week.. I know a lot own him so not a punt but a lot were completely dismissing him as (c) on here last week.

Austin this week was probably my best DGW pick - shame he was overshadowed!

    Team is:
    Krul Guzan
    Toby Ivan Clyne McAuley Bruce
    Caz Eriksen Hazard Sanchez Boyd
    Austin Kane Aguero

Should I do Austin-->Murray/Gomis this week
    OR
Save for a more expensive Striker next GW.

Would you do Benteke -> Remy this week?

Remy does have qpr, but Benteke is a streaky player and he now has 7 goals and 1 assist in 5 games, is on pens and is nailed on for 90 mins each week.

Factor in the unknowns surrounding Costa's return and LIV's DGW, and I think it might be worth waiting a week.

    Thoughts?

I was going to. But after watching Benteke, who was immense and Tottenham who are asleep, holding Benteke for next week.

If they have one of course. 😉

It is possible but would need to be announced almost immediately (by the weekend). GW37 more likely.

Why by the w/e? If in GW34 presumably it would get moved to 29 April, which is 3 weeks away. Could quite easily not get announced until next week, or maybe even after next week's deadline, imo

        1. Ruth_NZ
          • 11 Years

Because the PL guideline is that re-scheduled games (excluding FA Cup replays) should be announced 21 days before they take place.

They occasionally make exceptions but that's the normal practise.

Basically it will only be GW34 if that has already been decided as a contingency, in which case the announcement will be quick. Otherwise GW37 is far more likely.

    Mignolet - Myhill
    Ivanovic - Bertrand - Sakho - Schlupp - McShane
    Sanchez - Hazard - Silva - Sigurdsson - Mahrez
    Sturridge - Kane - Remy

1.5m in the bank for Sturridge ➡ Aguero if and when necessary.

Also Schluup worth it for the DGW? Or should I go for Wolly/Collins/Kelly?

Myhill has a good fixture in gw 33. Mignolet on the bench.
Schluup/Wolly/Collins/Kelly has a good fixture in gw 33. Sakho on the bench.
Sturridge will likely become Aguero in gw 33.

This is all in preparation for the Liverpool DGW. If they lose tonight, then the team would change.

Calling all wildcarders. Is it this simple?

    1) If LIV win tonight and have their DGW in GW34, WC in GW34 and load up

    2) If LIV win tonight and have their DGW in GW37, WC in GW35 or GW37

    3) If LIV lose tonight, laugh.

Personally I think this whole loading up on three Chelsea players has already gone too far.

Anyone with Ivan and Terry the past three weeks has hit 0/6 clean sheets. Fabi has rightfully had a go at his critics given his lack of assists recently. He's cesc fabrigas, he isn't going to care if he isn't on the scoresheet as long as he's playing well. He even said himself that his job is to feed the other, more agile creative mids Chelsea have.

Given the multiple options, perticularly in defence, for other teams in the coming weeks, limiting your team to three players of one team, blank aside, is both ineffective and a bit boring to be honest.

This game has such small margins sometimes. Last week I was deciding between:

    A) Santi & Ayoze -> Sinclair & Benteke, or
    B) Sanchez & Ayoze -> 4.2m fodder & Costa

Most people advised B and I thought it was a close call also.

I would have captained Aguero if going B, so that one decision turned out to be a 54 point swing
