Here’s our regular update on the competition, featuring a look at the Matchday 1 games that took place over Gameweek 31. We also have some fun handing out some Matchday Awards and a look ahead to Matchday 2. Please use this article for all tournament chat.

MATCHDAY 1 RESULTS

The final Matchday 1 results have been updated in the Cup spreadsheet and we can reveal that after a hard-fought first round, England and South Africal top Groups A and B respectively. Among the most eye catching ties was the FFScout moderators and contributors dominated Sri Lanka side’s narrow 948-942 defeat to New Zealand. Congratulations to all the victorious teams and a reminder to those that lost that there is a long long way to go.

Commiserations to our English friends. You put up a great fight as usual but we managed to get there in the end.

Congrats to my fellow kiwis for another top notch performance. We're now top of Group A where we belong. The team will now head back to base in preparation for our next match against Bangladesh... It's gonna be a cracker 🙂

      I got knocked out last week to someone who put his ID in wrong (he congratulated me on the win and then I checked the results and his score was linked to a completely different team that beat mine). Couldn't be bothered telling Mark and co as the chances of winning are very slim anyway.

A hard fought victory against India and a tough week ahead for all the Countries, with several teams not having fixtures it could be a low scoring wicket.

South Africa's squad will be given Tuesday off to to celebrate the victory with their WAGS and burn up all energy that remains. We will regroup and refuel the squad on Wednesday, with a few days explosive training in preparation for the next match!

If training is intense and goes to plan, then the SA's will be allowed to get their vuvuzela's blown on Friday night.
