Why the Sanchez love? Output is down since the return of Ozil with only 1 big haul against Liverpool. Ozil on a lot of set pieces as well as playing more centrally. 2mil less thrown into the deal

Sanchez has better GA/SiB/POB of the three.

I agree on this, taking plenty of shots but not with a high degree of accuracy. I do think it's a lottery with these Arsenal Mids and maybe the 2mil is better spent elsewhere

Well with 3 games to go I can say that I have been disappointed with my season this year. Been playing FPL for 5 yeard now and this is the first time I am 54k. I don't know whether it's the fact that I can't be fecked as much as I used to or am just having a bad season. My best ever finish was 2 seasons ago when I finished 783 and two top 5k finishses too.

Point of my story is people have ups and downs. We are only human. And I really love coming on here and just getting away from my day to day life. Fantasy Football Scout keeps my mind away from day to day Bullshit Tbh.

Good Luck All .. and a hope Doosra is better soon too.

Just don't invest too much in the game either emotionally or in time spent. Limit your time, try to use it more efficiently and don't sweat it if you have a bad week. Try to stay positive!

I completely changed the way I play and my whole approach to the game from last season and I'm doing fine. Got a personal best last year and might beat it again this season. I'm no great player at all and not a stat-muncher either so if I can do it anyone can....

Good luck and don't give up!

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

The Rough with the Smooth – looking for your Gameweek 34 tales of joy and woe.

We are looking for your input for our new regular community article. Called The Rough with the Smooth we want to hear about exceptional moves of success or failure for the Gameweek gone by.

So to get this rolling I’m looking for a few words from you about a particular move or set of moves you made in Gameweek 34 that led to incredible success or failure.

I'm expecting a fair few wildcard stories of joy and tales of heartbreak from Liverpool backers.

For those interested please email me your tale of woe or jubilation at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk by the deadline of 2pm today or leave your answers below. I'm looking to publish the article this afternoon.

We are looking for short answers to the following
    1. What was your move of success or failure?
    2. What effect did it have on your rank?
    3. What have you learned from the move?

I had a pretty successful game week. Used my wildcard, and with the help of mcshane kasper vardy terry and ivanovic I got 92 points. This moved me up around 10000 places (I think) to about 17k overall. However I forgot to confirm the wildcard so took a 52 point hit in the process. I learnt that I shouLD spend less time looking at hulls defensive stats, and more time paying attention to what I'm actually doing.

      1. A happy WC'er - this week turned out to be a great week to activate, despite pool attacking blanks. Double digits from all of my defenders this week, with Vardy etc. chipping in to get me to 92. Not as big as some, but still stoked, and still in TM's LMS league! Interesting point - after debating all week with myself as to whether to go with Ivan or fab as 3rd Chelsea - they ended up getting the same (I went fab).
      2. A great rank jump from 9K up to 4K.
      3. Holding a WC for a DGW can be fruitful! Trust in its power 😛

      1)
Success: I decided to do Krul > Schmeichel for a hit which worked out well and sets me up well for the run-in. Getting in Skrtel and Sterling for Fonte and Eriksen with my FTs worked pretty well too.
Failure: Losing a bet in the DZ so now I'm stuck with Paul McShane as my grav for a week. 🙁

      2) My rank halved from 2.2k to 1.1k after scoring 92(-4).

      3) Don't be scared to take a hit for a goalkeeper, especially in a DGW.

In case you're scraping the barrel for stories. I had a frustrating week of nothingness in which my gamble didn't pay off. 1 ft and -12 in hits (Baines, Silva, Sanchez, Eriksen > Skrtel, Cout, Sterling, Fab) resulted in a 1 point improvement in what I would have got without doing anything, not to mention saving the free transfer. I managed to maintain my rank though with a small green of 150 places up to 2.4k so it could be much worse.

      1. Success: Skrtel(c) went well. 77pts without WC, not a good excuse though 😛
Failure: Making plans for doing Kane to Giroud this week backfired. Should have got 14pts more.
      2. 80k to 60k
      3. One GW at a time. Chances of improving rank is comparatively better if I go against the crowd. Calculated risks are always good.

First draft would have scored 102
Final draft scored 94 and is costing me a hit to get rid of Costa

      Wild ride

Big high five to Jonty who saved me from a McGregor punt by posting the Tweet that Steve Bruce was starting Harper... so I became one of the 187 to transfer in Harper this past week; despite getting the 94, the hilarity of owning Harper pretty much made up for it on its own... even owning triple Liverpool, their ineptness gave some joy.

      Punty and purty

Going for 11 DGW players is punty on its own merits. Made the wrong choice between Vardy & Ulloa. Only had Sanchez's 3 off the bench in place of Costa. Captained Hazard despite considering going with Ivanovic.

Best scores came from my 2 Hull guys in N'Doye & Harper.

Closed 37 points of an 87 point lead on my ML rival... though the last game of the week could have gone so much better with Huth off early, Costa no-show and my rival's Terry ownership against my Ivanovic that swung in my favor early and his later.

Overall a fun week and I'll look forward to a late season DGW WC again.

It was a successful failure as I only fell 32 places from 175 to 207 when it could have been a crisis. I left my decisions late having done Mane to Sterling earlier as my only FT in the week. I took a -8 hit for Remy & Bertrand out for Vardy & Terry. In the end I gained (16+12+5)-(1+2+2+8)= 20 points assuming Phillips comes on for Remy. If I hadn't taken this 8 pointer I would have dropped 259 places to 434. I learnt that as a conservative dullard, that hits are worth it if it they are done right. Always play your own game and don't let others influence your transfers. Go big or go home.

A gameweek of both joy and aggravation, ending up not so bad after all.

      1. After playing with combos of Haz/Terry/Ivan (stick), Haz/Terry/Costa and Haz/Terry/Fabregas, I sensibly chose the former. But did not learn from previous DGW failure to bring in a punt, and did not bring in neither Vardy nor N'Doye. Also dodged the Moreno and Schlupp bullets, who werer both in my first wc draft team.
      2. Ivan+Terry combo meant +1300 rank
      3. Always field an attacking punt for DGW's. But have an exit plan for following GW's.

      1. I played a WC so ended up with 110 - N'Doye and Vardy up front worked perfectly.
      2. 15k > 4k
      3. Ignore all players previous form when it comes to the DGW

      1. McShane was a succsess, no failures. Played my wildcard and got 101 Points, no failures to be honest.

      2. Moved up to a overall ranking of 78 and breached top 100

      3. Always try to get dgw players, even if it looks unlikely that the will get Points. (i.e McShane, also alot of People didnt get either Benteke or Austin last dgw)

After a lot of deliberation, I chose Moreno over Skrtel and kept Silva. However, Terry, Mignolet and Vardy helped me to a GW rank of 93k, meaning I jump back into the top 5k for the first time since GW21.

The big success of the week, of course, was Sri Lanka's miraculous comeback after 'the Fenley Wildcard'. As I said on the Community post, a greater comeback than Medinah, Istanbul and Barcelona rolled into one.

      WC played. 95 points.

As Mark on the scoutcast said 'I came out of nowhere' and moved from 8th to 2nd in the world.

Cut the lead to Simon March to 35 points.

A DGW wildcard at the end of the season can be huge.

        1. What was your move of success or failure? Bringing in Moreno/Sterling/Fab for a hit didnt work at all.
        2. What effect did it have on your rank? Outside the top 10,000 now boooo
        3. What have you learned from the move? Nothing really, id do the same again if the games were getting replayed.

      1. Played WC...

Successes - a) Schmeichel, Terry, Skrtel, Albrighton in. Extended ML leads by 25-30 points including rival point hits.

Failures - benching Albrighton, keeping Kane instead of getting Vardy. Spending so much time weighing up which 2 of Cout/Hendo/Sterling only to see them completely fluff their lines.

      2. Rose about 700 spots to be on the verge of top 1k. And up to 6th in my country!

      3. Always play DGWers - you just never know.

1- Success - Playing McShane and Albrighton and the decision to double up on liverpool defence Skirtel and Mignolet alongside Sterling payed off. Terry and Fab chipped in too. Only blip was hazard captainy blank

(was actually thinking about getting 3 liverpool mids before a change in mind last day)

2- Highest score of the season 98(-4) which halved my rank from 12k to.6k

3- Risk it all in dgw's as you got nothing to lose but everything to gain. Most of people when asked told me to play Giroud ahead of Albrighton but i went.with my gut feeling and played Albrighton

      1. Wild carded; successes include being in in Schmeichel, Morgan and Vardy (the "right" Leicester players), keeping Terry instead of switching to Ivanovic, and keeping Aguero, who out scored both my Liverpol mids. Having an average defence score of 9 per player after 1 game each was rather sweet. Failures are the usual: Sterling and Coutinho flops (but keeping for QPR), and I took a 1-week punt (transferred to Giroud for this week) on...no, not N'Doye, nor Ulloa, not Drogba or even keeping Kane - I went for Diouf, who returned a solid 1 pointer. Thanks for that, Stoke.

      2. GW rank of 5797 means I got a massive 80k-places green arrow. Pretty content with that - my biggest swing since the infamous GW8.

      3. As with so many people, the lesson is obvious: don't ever write off a DGW team entirely, especially not for attackers. If I had done N'Doye for a risk-free wild card 1-week punt instead of Diouf, I'd have scored my best GW score of the season.

      1) Smoothly got a 80 point score and green arrow despite ignoring advice to do a Saturday 11.29 change to play Kane/Giroud and bench McShane/Allbrighton

      2) Moved up 1000 places which put me in the great position of having a Overall Rank that is lower than my points total - but better team selection would have moved me to within spitting distance of the elusive holy grail of the top 1k

      3) Be willing to take more risks on the cheaper options - price/history doesn't necessarily mean more points - especially on a DGW

      1. Saved my wildcard (first time in 8 years!) and fielded 10 double gameweekers
      2. Moved from 22k to 10k with 97 point haul. Gutted that Schlupp was injured
      3. I've been able to maximise benefits of DGW and planned transfers to get 4 DGW 37 players in (3 Arsenal and 1 Sunderland). Pays to take a risk on DGW differentials...N'Doye!

Had earmarked Stones because I was thinking that Everton my keep a CS, but then got it into my head that getting a DGWK defender would be a better option, so went for Moreno instead...

You know how that turned out...

Still got a bit lucky in my misery as Bellerin came in for Moreno in the end.

To be honest, I was already seeing the nightmare scenario coming to life : Bellerin with a CS on my bench, and Moreno coming in and getting sent off..

      Slightly unhappy WC'er here.

      1) Fails - Schlupp over Schmeichel / Huth / Morgan
Not spending a little extra to get Kolarov over Smalling
Debating Vardy vs Cambiasso all week and deciding on Cambiasso

I blame the failure on playing too safe. My cash mini league rival is now 10 points ahead after being 20 behind, because he took punts on Vardy, and got two cleanies from Leicester defenders. I really should have gone with at least one 'punt' - N'Doye, Vardy, Kolarov... all would have paid of spectactually, and in hindsight, the WC is designed for taking one or two punts.

I also swore to myself last Chelsea DGW than if Ivanovic ever had another DGW, i would captain him. Should of got him in and done this!

      2) Still managed to climb the ranks, but only by about 100 places. It could and should have been a lot more.

      3) Wildcards are for risks. Live a little and bring in some exciting new players for DGW's!

Very good week this week for me. 101 points, GW rank 1,660, and overturned a 40 point ML deficit so

      1) Keeping the wc proved a great success
2)I more than halved my rank from 72k to 31k
      3) That big DGWs are a massive opportunity to gain ground, and keeping a wc in hand (if possible) can really help and that we should never be dismissive of ANY team with a DGW (lost count of the number who told me to bench McShane for Giroud)

Mate, that's not a fail. Albrighton only had one advantage - his price.

I don't consider my Schlupp over Morgan a fail. It was a reasonable decision wrecked by a late injury - same as the Moreno or Remy situations.

Any manager that had Schlupp, Moreno and Remy got bang unlucky and I want to play poker with them please. 😉

Smooth: Wildcard Team already in place since GW33 (could only field 9 due to injuries so used WC early).

      Rough: Brought in Moreno
      Rough: Brought in Schlupp
Rough: Dropped Aguero to free up funds. Kept Silva. Played Silva.
Rough: Kept Zaha in WC team for one last fixture.
Rough: ML Leader blocked my big moves (Fabregas, Henderson, Vardy)
Rough: My only prospects for differentials in ML : knock knock and blankety blank.
      Rough: Hazard (C)

      Smooth: Schmeichel saving penalty.
Rough: Realizing the goal post actually saved penalty.
Smooth: Schmeichel keeping clean sheet and managing to save a few like a champ.

Honestly I owe most of my success this week to a Leicester goalkeeper. I somehow managed to get 6 points closer to ML leader partly because of him and partly because the ML leader took hits.. But it's done. And I'll take it!

1 and 2) when leics played swans i had a fifty fifty choice of a leics striker for that game and the dgw.

      i chose nugent over vardy.

nugents calf pinged and ive since got 2 points from auto subs in his 3 games to vardys 14. rather than being 30 back from simon march its 42 and thats too much to reel in, plus others have passed me.

what did i learn? that its small margins and good and bad luck tend to even out. i may also of learnt that if someone has an injury and is touch and go just transfer them dont hang on in hope or stubborness that you lose a dgw guy.

      1. Took a -4 to move on Naughton for McShane and save 0.2m in the process. After a 12 point game an inspired decision you might say... Apart from the fact that I benched Koscielny who had a 9 pointer. So in fact the transfer cost me a point!

      2. Still glad I did the transfer, and it made sense to play Bertrand rather than Kos given the fixtures. C'est la vie! Dipped back a few thousand but not too bad. Rank still grim 246k.

      3. DGW players are always worth a punt. Will have 3x Sunderland and 3x Arsenal for sure.

Delusion or not, an extra game with 4 GWs left is a 25% uplift in a player's points potential.

In that DGW Liverpool are home to Palace, you won't not play a Chelsea defender of you have one and PVA seems the only player from Sunderland worth owning so what other defenders could you possibly want?

Could have Koscienly or Bellerin but 3 attackers will be hard to resist.

Picking Ivan over Cesc seemed a master stroke before today. But in hindsight, if I had opted for Cesc instead, it would have meant silva making way for him and Morgan in for Ivan. Would have netted me more points but like I said, hindsight.

Also would have been easier to bring in my arsenal players for their DGW.

If you went the Ivan route then JT/Ivan/Skrtel to Koscielny resolves the last issue.

Just because DGW defences did well this time around then it doesn't mean they will in GW37. We are talking about Sunderland playing two of the best attacks in the league and Arsenal playing away to United and at home to a relegation team who are fighting for survival, a game in which we may see rotation from Arsenal if they wrap up second by then.

Ok to save the FT? 5.4m ITB

    Davis (Panti)
    Bellerin Terry Skrtl
    Hazard(C) Hendo Sterling Silva
    Kane Aguero Vardy(VC)
    (Schlup, Clyne, Boyd)

Save FT is OK but I'd play Schlupp over Bellerin.

If fit I think he's certain to.

Heard nothing to suggest he won't be fit. Reportedly only a knock.

Maybe the 3 games in a week was too much.
Also I feel NP conceded the Chelsea game a little and he'd feel a home win V Newc with a few fresh faces may be more achievable.
            I'd worry for Vardy tho.

Reading between the lines, Pearson had planned to remove Vardy earlier but 2 first half injuries limited his flexibility. I think Vardy will play, he was the one player Pearson protected.

Thanks Ruth, was thinking of benching Silva for him. Bellerin against Hull seems decent though.

Yep. But Newcastle are awful and Leicester are in form and at home.

Spurs-City looks like a game with good goals potential to me. So I'd play Silva if I had him.

People to drop out of my team: Yaya, Huth, Sterling, Coutinho

    Which one and for who?

I like de jong, mata, sanchez but are there any other?

Yes I can. It seems straightforward I know but I like making a mountain out of a molehill. Mata could be better than sanchez, then again mata could miss out if januzaj gets some starts

do a reset. You won't lose anything. Hold the lock and home button for about 10 seconds (feels like a minute) and it will close everything properly and reopen everything a minute later all fixed.

Sounds like the app is crashing. Beyond turning off and on again and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, there's not much you can do.

      Is your iOS up-to-date?

    Schmeichel Panti
    Baines Skrtel Smalling PvA Morgan
Alexis Ramsey Mata De Jong Grealish
    Aguero Giroud Benteke

    Thanks.

Looks really good. If liverpool fail against qpr it will be a good team. I like baines in there too. Miralles could be an option if he plays but I don't think he will

I wanted to have De Jong in my team since pre season. Never got the chance. Might as well get him now, no other midfielder at that price jumos out.

      You're a week late 😉

      I think it looks okay.

I'd prefer a Chelsea defender over Baines.
Smalling in terms of FPL I'm not a fan of, Utd are leaking goals.
Not sure on Mata either or De Jong??

I think Smalling and Mata could do well against the teams they play from here on. No decent budget mid options and Mirallas not guaranteed starts.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you WC last week?
It's easy to get arsenal players for DGW after that, even Sunderland for a hit or two.

Already had 6 che and Liv players in total before gw 34. So just brought in N' Doye and Vardy 🙂
I won't be on here much next month. So I want a decent 11 at least.

Would you rather have Fabregas (CRY) or Sterling (QPR) just for this week?

One of them is leaving for Sanchez this week, the other for Ramsey next week, it's just a case of which one gets the boot first.

I was all set to transfer out Fabregas first, but he might have a little more attacking form than Sterling, and CPL have looked pretty rubbish for a couple of weeks.

Which one would you rather have this week?

Tbh they both look crap and both have good fixtures, so it's 50/50. Fabregas could go back to the pivot role which makes him worse. Sterling could be up front, so the odds are in sterling's favour

I think this is one of those transfers that you need to go by your own instinct. It could really go either way.

I'll throw an opinion out there anyway and say keep Sterling another week

I am in the exact same position, I was shipping fabs before last night but now I am going to ship sterling for sanchez as liverpool are looking terrible.

Tough call, Liverpool should beat QPR well but they are Liverpool, can't help thinking that Chelsea will be in party mode, the crowd will be up for it and they could quite easily put 4 or 5 past Palace to win it in style.

I would sell Sterling or hold both for one more week then do the double switch when they play eachother.

1 - Yes - although you need to be thinking about getting Arsenal players in.
2 - Play Toby or Bellerin. Probably Toby edges it
3 - Maybe Vardy, he's having injections in his foot, may become an issue. City have nothing to play for, Kane to score.
