Our latest ScoutCast episode is dedicated to the memory of long-time community member Simon Humber, aka “Absinthe”, who sadly passed away last week.

Granville, Jonty and myself pay our respects by going about our business – just as Absinthe would have wanted.

We overcome Granville’s late arrival to analyse Gameweek 36, while deflecting the latest bout of community posers that have us assess the likelihood of Chelsea rotation, run the rule over Arsenal assets and lament the demise of Sir Leighton Baines. We also take time out to reflect on our season’s biggest errors, while Granville is given the unenviable task of selecting the best Fantasy manager from Jonty and myself – like a sultry temptress choosing between a pair of doting admirers.

    This giroud vs tekkers debate is doing my head in. Worth getting tekkers this week if it means no giroud for the dgw?

      I THINK I've decided on Giroud simply because others will have him in my mini league.

      Like the Benteke option though, would be Koscileny for me. Whatever you choose is a good call 🙂

    Morning lads. These trades seem sensible for -4?

    Ivan and sterling > stones and Sanchez.

    It's the only way I can get Sanchez in without shipping hazard. I would ideally like to keep Ivan but need the funds.

    So Aguero has hit 10 goals in seven games against Tottenham - more than he has scored against any other club in BPL.

    Surely his record against QPR is not that bad either - 2 goals at Loftus Road early in the season (13 points), plus that Agueroooooooooooooo staggering moment.

    Why doubt his captaincy this week?

      He got a heavy kick in the last game, but managed to play on for most of the game to get his goal and assist so I wasn't too worried at the time. Hopefully Wenger will tell us more soon.

        Ive got no issue whatsoever, merely asking a question. I thought you were able to do that on here? or is that not allowed.

        I didn't see any mention of an injury during the Hull victory so went ahead with the FT as funds were tight and I was concerned I would miss out on him should his price had changed PLUS i wanted rid of Sterling who was a total waste of time. After the Remy debacle which yes, I got sucked into, seeing Ramsey now injured irritated me slightly but not to the point that I felt the need to moan as you have put it.

        Hardly moaning pal, this is just a forum where people make their opinions and ask advice, what would be the point of moaning?, frustration? maybe yes but moaning…no, Im not a 16 year old with nothing else to do.

        So to answer your question, I have zero issue. Maybe you do hence your to the point reply.

    For many, GW8 was the season defining moment for a more or less successful campaign (say top10k as a marker)

    But looking back, I think my season defining moment were 2 simple decisions I made at the start of the season.

    1. Not starting with Bojan
    2. Not jumping on the Naismith wagon

      I started with Steven Fletcher over Bojan, sold him a couple of weeks later for Pelle for a hit. The rest was history 😉

          Nope. Never own Ulloa, fortunately.

          But I agree with you - GW8 was the somehow season defining moment. I was lucky that I captain Kun (4 goals) and had 3 SOT for that 8-0 romp (thank you Tadic, Pelle). I got a century and went from 148k to top 10k, and never looked back since. But the most impotant thing for me was getting a decent team in GW2 after such a poor start (1.6 mil rank) without wasting the WC - and only used a hit. That was fairly important for me.

            Same - had Kun(c), Tadic, Pelle and Clyne. similar jump to you.

            While that on it's own was good enough, the best part was all your ML rivals suddenly 2-3 steps behind. Some did not yet have Kun, no Pelle and no Tadic...and were scrambling to get those 3 players in.

            Yea I was willing to use a hit where necessary as well. And tried to be more patient with players.

            Not owning Fabregas all season hurt though. Had Mata the first few GWs - he scored the same points as Fabregas over the first 3-4 weeks but dropped 0.3 while Fab rose 0.4! incredible.

      I avoided those pitfalls, and had Aguero, Pelle, and Baines in GW 8, but I put the armband on Falcao that GW. 😳

      That's probably why I'm still three points outside the top 10k.

      Two GWs come to mind for me which changed my season

      GW10 score of 107 jumped my rank from 230k ish ->> 27k captained Sanchez (210th this GW)
      And Gw14 score of 101 21k >> 5k Capatin Aguero ( 68th this GW)

      So so so many top 10K teams went from nowhere to ... well....top 10K after GW8 with Aguero (c) Tadic and Pelle.

      Not me. I had Aguero (C) and it was a decent week but not having Tadic and other SOU was killer

    In order to get Sanchez which is the better move

    A) -4. Means shipping ivanovic. (Replacement would be stones)

    B) -8. Means shipping Clyne and skrtel. But I keep ivanovic.

    If i do b it would be Clyne, skrtel, sterling > jags, mcshane, sterling.

              Yet I stand by my remarks. Cameron has been a disaster because his platform rests on a disastrous ideology. He has been a disaster because he has been very effective in bringing about a state of affairs that I, and possibly you, find unacceptable. I would vote Miliband in this election no matter how much confidence I lacked in him as a leader, because of ideology. But I am just suggesting he was not the kind of leader who could inspire those who weren't already ideologically in his camp.

          Might look at bringing in a Leicester striker though - all depends what the Premier League situation is. If Villa aren't safe I think Benteke is a nailed captain option that week

      Do you have any idea about how the DGW might go for you i.e does your rival already have players in that means you could get someone like Sanchez/Giroud as a differential?

      40 is a fair bit so maybe you do need to move now. Think Benteke is a decent option this week if chasing

        Thanks! My rival has Sanchez, I have Giroud and Ramsey now...he had Sanchez and O'Shea as as DGW players, he has done a transfer..I think he might have done Eriksen --> Ramsey/Ozil.

        So I think this weeks it's basically gonna be Giroud + Benteke Vs Kane + Vardy
        we both have Aguero and I think he would do Aguero (c) that's why going with Benteke
