I make only playUFPL next year. Really enjoyed it and find having conflicting players in both games annoying.

I'd very much recommend it. One way I've found around the missing deadlines issue is to make them the night before. Very occasionally it backfires, but rarely as often the player I'm taking out has scored so badly anyway.
I think in many ways its a better game for the FFS community. Much more strategy involved and also def mids and defenders get rewarded for passes etc. That's great for those with membership to keep track of those underlying stats.
The first half of the season for me was a learning curve...second half has been great for me. Not edging near the top 200 after being about 5,000th or so pre Christmas.*now edging

Take much effort?I was ranked 11th a few weeks ago even after forgetting to make my subs 2 or 3 times.. Then forgot to do my subs 2 weeks on the trot in the last few weeks as I was moving house including Aguero against QPR so have dropped down to under 200...
Really enjoy the game but takes a huge commitment.. I would have been ranked between 2nd and 5th for the majority of the season if I'd done my subs every week but it's difficult to keep up.
