The transfer of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal this week has many a Fantasy manager eyeing up the new Gunners midfielder. Priced at just 8.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Arteta looks, potentially, a real value for money option this season, bringing a much-needed maturity to the Arsenal playmaker role in light of Cesc Fabregas’ departure to Barcelona.

    I have 3.3m in the bank - is it worth upgrading N'Zog (Everton away) to Silva (Wigan home) for a 4 point hit?

    (BTW I know I have too much emphasis on defence - looking to downgrade Kompany to Brown soon to free up yet more cash :D)

      I think Walcott is less predictable than arteta...so even though I think Walcott has the ability to be more of a goal threat...I feel with arteta cheaper and on set play duties is the winner

    Ideas include Jarvis, O'Hara, Brunt, Anderson, Eagles/Petrov, Ferguson(budget), Cabaye, Cleverley, Walters.

      Wolves have reasonable fixtures and are in form so either one of Jarvis/Hunt/O'Hara look decent shouts, but this means you have to go with Ferguson who never plays.

      Brunt - I am not convinced at all that WBA will score many goals over the next 8 GWs, even though there is a lot of blue on the season ticker and a lot of love for him on here.

      Norwich have some mint home games - Hoolahan unfortunately didn't feature at all against Stoke but should be their main man in the middle. He is only 5.5 which would allow you to get in someone like Dyer who at least plays.

      Although at times I have thought of including both Brunt and Cabaye in my midfield so it is a close call IMO. You have to imagine Cabaye will benefit from Barton's departure.

      I think O'Hara could yet do alright. Not as good as last year due to the bonus system but he still takes some set pieces and shoots a whole lot, something's going to go in eventually.

        My only problem with B is that Dzeko and Walcott are more prone to rotation than RVP and Jarvis! Also with RVP you have a solid captaincy candidate. Tough call! 🙁

        *most points since 2006/7 season, when he was at Chelsea. He did much better than that in his first spell at Man City, but the history on FPL only goes back 5 years.

      Changing your final plans over and over is fine, but I'd try to avoid hitting the switch any more as you may lose money if you change you mind like you have already. Best just keep the rising/risen priced players in till deadline approaches.

      Yes, until I became fixated on including Sturridge and going without Suarez for the next two away games.

      Adam then becomes an option if you still want Liverpool cover. I reckon Adam has started very well and I feel he has increased in "value" with Mierless' departure.

          I am not sure about essential but he looks a reasonably viable alternative to Suarez IMO

          I am not sure I would advocate both, especially with current fixtures, but who knows.
