The transfer of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal this week has many a Fantasy manager eyeing up the new Gunners midfielder. Priced at just 8.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Arteta looks, potentially, a real value for money option this season, bringing a much-needed maturity to the Arsenal playmaker role in light of Cesc Fabregas’ departure to Barcelona.

          Taylor was the bargain defender that didn't happen last year due to injury. If he stay's fit he'll be same sort of bargain, at a mere 0.5 dearer. Dzeko = Fool's Gold (ok, he could prove me wrong). Let's think about it, Aguero, £38mil & Tevez. Yes, Tevez is still there & there's nothing to suggest he will not be City's most iffluential player until January at least. He needs to convince a club, in a city his missus is happy with, that he's worth the wages. Tevez is 'the best all-round player at city' (apologies Mr Silva but it's the truth). If you're going city then go silva (plays every week, very good chance of bonus & assists and hopefully an improved goals return. Nasri could trump him, more direct = more goals/assists). For me it's Rooney + Suarez or Adebayor & a Fletcher/Crouch type, Silva or Nasri in midfield alongside the comfort blanket that is Mr Fatboy 'Frankie Lampard'.

            Cheers. Actually I think Dzeko is still a delicate little flower whose confidence could dip with just a poor game or two. He looks a bit gangly and has the face of a nervous schoolboy. I'm perhaps just trying to convince myself so I can make money from his rises and strengthen my defence.

          Well that everyone knows tht he is a centre forward...Vdv is injured for 6 weeks..he is in a new team and playing in bpl after almost a year..give hm some time to adjust...i dont see him scoring from day 1..wolves at home are always difficiult also 🙂

    Okay guys, I need some Liverpool Midfield cover, between Kuyt or Adam. I realise Adam is on set pieces, but his place may be threatened, or set pieces may be taken over by Gerrard when he's back.
    Kuyt, on the other hand almost plays as a striker, also assisted 2 in the last game. Tough decision!

          couldnt agree more. suarez. enough for me. do like adam but for the price of pool mids there's way better out there.

          ie downing 8.5 versus even dempsey 8.5 (the latter anyday and will end in the top 10. downing is done) funnily enough superdunny totally disagrees with me...

    I am quite happy with my team at the mom but I keep thinking about how well Rooney/Young partnership is doing. i have rooney, but I have plumped for Mata to get chelsea attaching coverage. In order to get young in I would need to downgrade a defender (enrique or r johnson). Sorry to do an RMT but would value anyone's feedback on this point in particular.

      Yea like the look, although not 100% on Arteta. But i guess hee is a better option than walcott considering the price of you front 3?

      I'd like to think not. It sounds weird, but I didn't come away from the game particularly disappointed, because there are still definite signs of encouragement. Just one error, a under-hit backpass, cost us big time - it was their only real chance of the match.

      We're still trying to play proper football, and moved the ball around very well at times today, Hockaday made some bad decisions with the team selection though. Brought Charlie Griffin (very immobile centre forward) into the side and played him on the left wing, where he is no threat whatsoever because he's so slow, and also dropped Turk (our only real tackling midfielder) despite Grimbsy being a fairly physical side.

      Nah, Henry wasn't in the matchday squad.

        Grimbsy basically parked the bus, and broke up our attacks with clever little fouls. We had tons of free kicks in excellent positions, but never made the most of them. In fact their goal came from a counter-attack from a poorly worked free kick of ours.

          Interesting. I really thought FGR would gain some momentum with Grimsby struggling. Charlie Griffin on the wing? Ridiculous. He's done the rounds and I watched him for Stevenage last season: an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping, running through treacle with Julian Alsop on his back is more mobile. These players are not total footballers, they're players with habits that can span decades and so you need to accomodate that. Not a very pragmatic tactic.

          I am beginning to sound like those t***s that ring in radio phone ins to deliver their opinion on the game only to reveal they only heard it on the radio.

            😀 He's quite possibly the slowest footballer I've ever seen. Pretty annoyed with Hockaday for changing the team from the Bath game - we looked so much more threatening when we switched back to the XI that started on Monday. His choice of captain also isn't particularly impressive - Jared Hodgkiss, small RB who isn't particularly good, and is keeping Jeffrey Imudia (a much more exciting prospect) on the bench.

        3. Actually make that Holt. I've just peaked at the Scout Projections which has him well ahead of the others.
