The transfer of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal this week has many a Fantasy manager eyeing up the new Gunners midfielder. Priced at just 8.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Arteta looks, potentially, a real value for money option this season, bringing a much-needed maturity to the Arsenal playmaker role in light of Cesc Fabregas’ departure to Barcelona.

In today’s Members Article, we delve into the statistics from last season, looking at a variety of factors to ascertain whether they offer a hint at just what Arteta could offer Arsenal –and, of course, Fantasy managers- in the campaign ahead:

To those night owls still awake keeping me company down here I have a question that one could kindly answer - where is the transfer history page gone on the new look FPL site, has it been removed!?!? 👿

Transfer history is not currently available on new site

Apparently, I have heard that all historic stats that were available on the old version will be available come the start of GW4

I'll believe it when I see it

depends what team you have? I'm at £101.5m but I dont have Young or Jarvis, so probably someone out there out of two million will be at 102m

Loads of people will be over 1.2M. Im a first timer and accidently used my wildcard after Wk 2 and have a value 1.18M including the bank so you would think more players may go up in value such as Rooney who scored a brace for ENG.

JArvis will be solid throughout the year, but it ffels like chasing points ...especially compared to the class and Cesc-position opportunity for Arteta. Go with the Spaniard. Brunt is very good also.

I actually am taking a punt on Arteta, Brunt, and O'Hara.

Simpson has better fixtures than Ward and is cheaper.
          Kompany is a must-have, IMO.
Dzeko is in stellar form and has decent fixtures. We've yet to see Adebayor play, and without VDV, I can't see them doing too well.

I do prefer Arteta over O'Hara, so try to somehow fit him into your team.

Your team is very similar to mine. Mine is:

              Given, [Vorm]
              Bosingwa, Kompany, [Simpson, Gabbidon, Caulker]
              Young, Silva, Arteta, [Moses, Dyer]
              Suarez, Dzeko, Rooney

As you can see, my bench players are as cheap as possible, to ensure that I use my funds as efficiently as possible.

I will play my 9 main players, and rotate the players in square brackets each week.

He's fine. He's just not spectacular enough to be a must. There are plenty of alternatives, just go and choose one of them for yourself.

    Quick q:

I transferred in dzeko before the price hike and I'm now considering using my WC.

I know that I'll get my 4 points for the transfer back but will I keep the profit on the transfer?

You won't get any profit until you sell Dzeko after two rises.
example: you buy Dzeko at 8.5, and now he cost 8.7(two rises) in market. You will sell him at a price of 8.6, meaning you earn 0.1 from it.

You'll get 8.6 for him, whereas presumably you paid 8.5 (i.e. 0.1 profit)

Not sure but highly likely to replace Raylor. I'm hoping ubercheap Simpson keeps his place 😕

I dont see simpson losing his place. The situation now is no different to when enrique was at newcastle

Santon should get the LB slot. The question is: what will happen to Raylor?

Santon can play rb but he won't. He is a left back by trade and was bought as such.

The 20-year-old completed his move from Inter Milan to Tyneside for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday night when he signed a five-year deal. He will take over the number three shirt vacated by Jose Enrique after he left for Liverpool earlier this month, and his recruitment ends manager Alan Pardew's search for a left-back.

My point about taylor is that when enrique was there simpson played every game and taylor was benched and only really came on to play in midfield

yah i understand and agree that he is meant to come in at left back but just pointing out that he's no enrique(strictly a left back) pretty sure santon started out as an RB. as a fellow simpson owner i'm very worried about his future. raylor brings goals to the table but besides some decent crosses simpson ain't too great with pretty poor positioning. neither are good defenders in any case. if i were WCing i'd be steering well clear of both.

You will regain those 8 deducted points. However, I think it's a bit too late for you to use your WC. You've missed all the price rises.

sounds like you are thinkin the right way. pulling out the WC on an already decent team like for the sake of a few extra shekels like some seem to have done is just plain silly. wildcard is for effecting a squad overhaul when sheeet goes south, not for playing bob the banker.
