This evening we preview the final of the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup XI, plus reveal the winner of the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Waltzingmatildas was crowned the latest winner of our Members trophy, claiming a 75-61 victory over faux_C from Gameweek 37’s matches.

With both sides sharing so many assets, it was David Silva’s 9-point contribution and the 10-point return from Hector Bellerin that eventually saw Waltzingmatildas emerge victorious. She (Tanya Sharma) picks up a £200 Amazon voucher as her prize, while faux_C (Chris Doyle) claims a £100 voucher as his runners-up reward.

Chris has another opportunity to find glory, however, as his Gameweek 37 tally proved enough to see him progress to the final of the Paddy Power Cup XI. faux_C edged out HammersXI in our semi-final to move into Sunday’s final.

The big news is that Mark’s sensational run of form, propelling him to an overall rank of 64, has also earned him a place in Sunday’s showpiece to oppose Faux C. Mark’s impressive Gameweek 37 tally of 87 was enough to see off Hutton Dressed as Lahm in the semi-finals.

With a rank of 3825 faux_C goes into the tie as underdog but with markedly different squads, the tie is still hard to call. Our finalists have just three players in common – Jeffrey Schlupp, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez. Mark’s key differential looks set to be David Silva, while faux_C will be hoping for a haul from Christian Benteke and Olivier Giroud to give him the edge in the tie.

HammersXI and Hutton DressedAs Lahm will now go head-to-head in Sunday’s third place play-off.

If you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a full rundown.

Congratulations to our winners and best of luck to Sunday’s finalists. Even Mark.

Why go for a defender transfer in the last GW? Just curious.

Because Terry has about the highest ownership of any player i dont own. Is fairly certain to play and has a good fixture, and i have useless defenders but no useless mids

My only goal this week is to stay in the top 1k, so i have to look who could hurt me the most, and i think it is probably Terry

    Wich do we prefer?
    (Both options involving an hit)

    Yaya + Gomis
    or
    Mata + Lukaku

Have the exact money to both combos (Haz and Wickham out)

I was thinking about Mata and Lukaku myself. Lukaku has form, Mata has a share of set pieces (including penalties) against a team that will have to attack. If United go a goal up then Hull have to start leaving themselves exposed....

cheers. I think rather than go for Leicester strikers I'll just be starting Albrighton over Henderson

creating nearly 3 chances and taking 4+ corners a game

my other two strikers would be Aguero and Benteke

looks like a Kane drop tonight.....

I can do Kane + Haz -->> Mata + Lukaku for free but if Kane drops I will be 0.1 off doing that move. should I go for it or just wait till pressers tomorrow and get alternatives if Kane drops?

    Krul,
    Ivan,Koscielny,Skrtel,Dawson,Hutton
    Haz,Sanchez,Caz,Henderson,Boyd
    Kane,Benteke,Kun

    .1 itb 1 ft

bit of a slump last few weeks, want to get back in the 1k finish.
    Thoughts?

    haz>yaya
    kane>ulloa

anyone else hovering around 800mark and worried about slipping out of 1k what 'safe' moves you making?

seen Triggerlips is going Terry for that reason.

I have 2FT and as mentioned earlier I can get Lukaku + Mata for free in for Haz + Kane. but a Kane drop will price me out. Am I better waiting till pressers or going for a safer move?

Dullest transfer of the season left till last ... Janmat.

Got to think west ham away in his last game wont care too much whereas newcastle just need a draw to stay up. Surely they play with a very tight defence and will get a clean sheet?

I think West Ham will win, as I believe the occasion will get to Carver and the fans. He just can't seem to keep a cool head under pressure. Allardyce will relish sending Newcastle down by us playing negative, defensive football-you know what he's like.

Ha that's true. He's already said he's just trying to keep cleanies now, so it could be a frustrating day for Newcastle. Whether they concede is another matter - I'm going to stick my neck out and predict a 0-0.

    Panti (Howard)

Terry - Bellerin - Wasilewski (Alder - Jagielka)

Sanchez - Rambo - Silva - Coutinho (Hendo)

    Benteko - Aggy - Vardy

    thinking of

    1) Coutinho to Mata
    2) Coutinho + Rambo ==> Mata + Puncheon (-4 hit)
    3) keep Coutinho
    4) buy another Midfielder

PvA (che) or Bertrand (mci) first defender sub? With rotation doubts over Bellerin and Vlaar I could potentially need one of these lads to come in. On PvA at the moment due to Sunderland's resiliance at the back lately and Chelsea's injury crisis

That silly Fabregas red card means I'm chasing 12 points in my ML on the final day of the season. With 6 players common, I think a differential captain is my only chance to catch up. So which move do you guys suggest?

    A) Fabregas to Mata(c)
    B) Alexis to Walcott(c)
    C) Aguero to Costa(c)
    D) Giroud to Lukaku(c)
    E) Alexis to Yaya(c)
    F) Giroud and Fabregas to Costa(c) and Bolasie for a hit

If I don't sell Fabregas, Albrighton will have to start as the 4th mid.

6 players common is still 5 players different...I'd just captain who you think will score the most. 12pts is quite recoverable, with a little luck going your way. But I'd suggest D) ii] -> Gomis.

My differentials are mostly rubbish though. I'm still stuck with Henderson, Skrtel and Kane. Don't think I stand a chance if we both captain Aguero.

My rival will certainly captain Kun and I certainly will not so if Aguero scores I've probably lost anyway. That makes me lean towards Aguero to Costa(c). Thoughts?

I see - yes it does depend on how much faith you have in your differentials. I think Aguero looks the best pick, I'm afraid. I'm captaining him but I'm playing an unusual formation (5-2-3) in an attempt to boost my rank. Could go either way, but throwing in a couple of extra defenders could sort the 12pt swing if goals are scarce.

I haven't owned Costa all season and I'm probably not the best one to ask...but if Hazard and Fabregas are out that will affect his goal supply.

I'm sold on using my FT on Larsson > Young, but is it worth a -4 to do Giroud > Lukaku? I'm worried he'll be rested for the final. Have a 30 point lead on my rival and he has to sell Fabregas for obvious reasons - i have Silva.

That close theres not much you can do but try and pick the team you think will score the most points.

There's no formula for it. Hits can work for or against. Some try to cover their opponent's moves, but without identical teams they can always find a way to hurt you. My advice is play your own game - put out your best team.

possibly use FT to bring in someone he has (block his points) and get your captain choice right.

any of you Sam Harris or Noam Chomsky fans?
Fascinating email exchange between the two here. I'd love for these two to debate but this just goes downhill fast.

I reckon Harris missed an opportunity by moaning about the snarkiness instead of debating the points made. Because of that it never got off the ground. Some hilarious burns from both sides though 🙂

hope everyone is doing well. Already won my ML's. Just trying to increase OR rank to beat previous best of 3,951 in 10/11.

    a) ramsey and Kane to Bolaise and Lukaku
    b) sanchez and Kane to Mata and Lukaku

both are for -4. Keen on keeping benteke and kun. cheers for the advice from all the great minds on here!

    alright gentlemen, this is it.

Have a 40 pt lead on my rival. He has Sanchez and Silva as his big differentials. I have Ozil, Hazard, and Sterling.

Do I play it safe and match Haz to Silva or do I go big and bring in Yaya?

Also I plan on doing Sterling + Giroud > Lukaku + idk

no chance Sterling plays. Lukaku is a gamble you don't need to take IMO.
