For the second season running, we’re very proud to have helped the Fantasy Premier League champion to the crown. This season’s winner, Simon March, aka “Dufflinks” was a full member of the site – as was Tom Fenley the season before. We hope that our members area goes on aiding FPL managers and will be hoping for a third champion from the 2015/16 season.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

We’re hugely grateful for the support shown by our members each season. This has enabled us to maintain the site, grow our team and develop further.

We currently have a full responsive design in development which we are looking to roll out before the start of the new season, while we’re also currently working on the latest feature for members and a revised season ticker tool. Again, we’re looking to have both available prior to the new season and we’ll bring you more on those in the coming weeks.

If you’ve any feedback or suggestions of content that you’d like to see added to the members area, then please feel free to drop me a line at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anybody know what's going to happen with Podolski and Nani when they return to their respective clubs ?....I can't see any future for them at their parent clubs but both could be a good signing for somebody else...either that or a loan deal.

His incredible laziness for one thing.

He would come on for the last 10 mins of a match, and work the least of any player on the pitch.

Awful up front, one dimensional on the wing.

Strange isn't it how perceptions change. Whenever I've seen him play, which isn't that often, he's looked decent enough and well worth his goals. I'll bow to your superior experience of him.

I've always seemed to be in the minority mind you, other Arsenal fans have always infuriated me saying he should be playing more.

Best finisher in the team when the ball is on his left foot, but like playing with 10 players the rest of the time, imo.

nah not the minority, not in my experience, alot of people remember his time at bayern, same thing at arsenal it's his international record people seem to go by but then crouch had a great international record aswell, not exactly the best argument.

It's strange, I personally think of him much more as a man up top than a winger.

I suspect both will be made available for sale

Pod no longer has a future with Sanchez nailing down that inside left spot and Ozil, Caz, Welbz and even potentially Ox all able to play there

Nani - just never fulfilled his potential, he was the top scoring player in FPL 4 or 5 years ago

Podolski will almost certainly be sold, or just loaned out again. Simply no place for him in the squad.

I don't think so either, but I think the front 3 are the most talented players, and he is the best equipped of the 3 to play as a 10. He has done okay there for Spurs when he has played.

Chelsea's youth team is one of the best in the world, winning 3 FA Youth Cups and a UEFA Youth League (which only started last year) over the past 4 years.

The big difference is that making it into the Chelsea team is a far different prospect from making it into the Manu team. Imagine the likes of Blackett, McNair or Wilson ever stepping into the Chelsea team

People say this, but most young players who are truly talented are a part of the first team squad.

Wilshere, Shaw, Ox, Sterling, Ibe, JWP etc

Surely it depends on the quality of the first team the youth players are trying to break into. Of the above, probably only Sterling will ever get regular gametime, while the likes of Shaw and Wilshere will have squad roles just like Ake, Solanke etc.

            1. Wilshere Knowledge

Ake and Solanke didn't have squad roles, they just didn't play.

An 82 year Drogba and Oscar OOP played ahead of Solanke.

Wilshere at 19 starred in midfield against Barcelona...

Lest we forget that instead of bringing through youth team defender, Chelsea bough Zouma. Then instead of playing a young midfield player, Mourinho played a young centre back (Zouma) and Mikel instead.

The chances of any Chelsea player ever getting a first team place is extremely unlikely.

Precisely my point, and Ake, Bertrand and Solanke are by no means inferior players to Shaw or Wilshere. Just because the players you brought forward make it into a first team does not mean that they are by any means good.

It is a joke that you think Solanke and Ake are in the same league as Wilshere. Truly ridiculous.

I agree that Chelsea youth players would find it more difficult to break into the Chelsea team, but if they were ever going to be good enough for CHelsea, they would make the squad.

Chelsea were just stupid selling Bertrand and buying Luis.

Ox, Sterling, Wilshere and Shaw were/are good enough at 20 to be making regular appearances for this current Chelsea team.

Well, at the time Wilshere emerged as a cult hero at Arsenal, Chelsea had a youth team player called Josh McEachran who made it into England squad before Wilshere did. Look where he is now.

I'm obviously giving a rough gauge of player comparison. Ake and Solanke don't even play in the same position as Wilshere does. Mind you, Solanke has 41 goals this season.

Loftus-Cheek, then 😉 Ake plays left back, he was more of a comparison with Shaw, but if you'll match it that way, suit yourself

And Bertrand is a far better player than Shaw is, imo

yeah even the experienced players rarely get a run out at chelsea, it's more to do with the policy of the manager than the quality of player, he just doesnt like rotating, even wilshere wouldnt figure in that side unless there were injuries, sterling's about the only one who would.

Disagree with that last sentence. Things are beginning to change in regards to the youth at Chelsea this season, slowly but surely. Abramovich has been encouraging Mourinho to start bringing through youth players, and he's been attending youth games himself.

I remember a Chelsea/United U21 game from this season, and the majority of their team had been in first team squads throughout the season. Mourinho's also said himself that he feels he's failed if he doesn't bring through players from a youth team that's won 4 of the last 6 youth cups, as well as the Uefa youth league.

Nothing to shout about yet though, obviously.

Probably not, Christensen maybe. It's more about the future rather than now though, as most of the players I am talking about are teenagers.

Well, United have won the U21 PL twice in the last 3 seasons, Chelsea beat them in the final of the 2013 season.

This season Chelsea's youth team finished 3rd to Liverpool and United, and I think they performed very poorly in the 2012/2013 season.

So obviously some of those United lads have been able to give the Chelsea players a run for their money, as have Liverpool this season who finished above them in the league.

Surely Manu and Liverpool's are one of the best as well. All I'm saying is that it's far more difficult for them to make the step into the first team, which gives the false impression that Chelsea's youth team is poor.

So it's no surprise that Chelsea has 1 more player in the England U21 squad than Manu 😉

I definitely wouldn't say Chelsea have a poor youth team, far from it. However, realistically, it is a case of needs must. Chelsea don't need many of those players, that is fair and as such they will not call them up or use them very often. United have needed to rely on a couple of those players you mention due to injury (McNair and Blackett), though I think Wilson is simply believed to be a player that they can develop into a proper first team striker.

If Chelsea experienced an injury crisis at the centre back position, they too would call up some of their youth players.

So while I agree with you that it depends on the quality of the player you're trying to fight against for a position, a serious injury to Cahill and Terry for example would mean that even the lowly Blackett would have possibly gotten a chance to play, if he was at Chelsea. 😉

To be fair, the United U21 team has been stronger in the past 2 years because most of the players are aged around 21/22. Chelsea on the other hand have played a huge amount of U21 games this season with a team consisting of players mostly from their U18 team....

Valdes, Rafael, Powell etc have been playing U21 games this season. Far more developed than the teenagers that have played for Chelsea U21.

Nick Powell turned 21 in March...

I accept what you're saying of course, though are we saying that no Chelsea players returning from injury have made appearances for the U21s either? I'm not really in the know about appearances made for the U21 teams to be honest with you.

Exactly. He's around the age limit for an U21 game, same as Tom Thorpe for example...

Chelsea U21 players this season have been largely aged 16-18 at times, so it's not really a surprise that United U21 team is stronger recently. It's also far more developed.

                    Dominic Solanke 17

Very similar criticism towards de Bruyne after that fateful day at Swindon Town. Hope he turns around and works harder, will be one helluva player and perhaps the only youth team player whom Mourinho really believes in.

One's a multiple title winner, CL winner, WC 3rd place finisher with a poor side, etc overrated as one of the best in the world, while the other is overrated as a top 10 manager in the PL

We all want guaranteed starters, but not many players actually started every game this season.

    Hazard
    Ivan
    Terry
    Cresswell
    Trippier
    Elmo
    Shackell
    N'zonzi
    Adrian

Probably too much of a pain to look into but are there any additional players that started every game when fit?

I'm not willing to find that out! I'd rather write it off to "they're injury prone".

It does show how easily this game can mess you over though, and the importance of a strong bench.

Is a 4.5m bench mid good enough?!

      Spiderm4tt had a 5.0m 5th mid in 12/13 in Kaca and Puncheon
Simon March started with a Siggy/Bojan rotation! 14/15

Following from the above discussion about youth teams 😉

I always believe youth team players on the verge of breaking into the first team are always the cheap mid/forwards to go for rather than established players. For example, Sterling, Barkley, Kane, Ravel Morrison (?), Januzaj (?) etc. have all proven better bets than cheap, established players like Maloney, Noble, Gomez, Crouch etc. over the years.

The tough part is, of course, choosing the right young ones.

Seems the meeing between Rodgers, Mike Gorodon and Werner went well, Rodgers is now likely to keep his job, It is said that FSG were impressed by Rodgers plans to improve the team. It is also likely to be his last chance, I have heard that if we sacked him now we'd have to pay the remainder of his contract but he has been given the choice to stay on an extra year although apparently if he fails to make top four he will leave without a penny. Massive respect for Rodgers if that is true, really hope he can turn things around.
