In this latest article for Members we combine the current ownership data in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game and our very own ICT Index* data, to find a collection of ten players who could provide handy differentials over the weeks to come.

With the emphasis on value in the current Fantasy landscape – we particularly targeted budget players who could plug the gaps in your squad – with just one notable exception from Villas-Boas’ Kings Road fraternity.

Cant decide on having Baines and another cheap mid or a cheap def and the likes of Walcott

Yo! Is it worth swapping Jarvis to O'Hara or just stick with the doubt issue?

My bench is Dyer, Brown and S Taylor...should I just rely on one of them to come in if Jarvis doesn't play?

I also have Nasri as a doubt which could mean I need to rely on 2 players from my bench for this next gameweek.

    Baines > Bosingwa
    Yaya > Walcott
    Torres > RVP

Worth a 4 point hit or should I just do 2 of them?

Current squad: Given, Vorm; Baines, Kompany, Simpson, Brown, JEnrique; Yaya, Jarvis, NZog, Moses, Dyer; Torres, Rooney, Suarez.

    Thanks.

      My team is very similar and I also have 2 free transfers;

      Given, Hilario
Baines, Kompany, Warnock, Simpson, De Laet
      Silva, Moses, Dyer, Nzogbia, Henry
      Rooney, Suarez, Torres

I want RVP in but don't know who to downgrade now, initial thoughts are to downgrade Nzogbia but cant find midfielder for 6.3 or less that I like... Struggling

I'd quite like N'Zogbia gone too but I think my midfield is already looking a bit weak. Think I'll keep him for now and maybe look at changing him soon.

Not if I don't do Baines > Bosingwa, no. So I guess if it's only two then it's this one and one of the others. Just wasn't sure if doing all three would be worth the points hit.

Without question RVP is essential over the next few months, especially the next 6 weeks.. Has to be Petrov and RVP.. I've already got TaylorR and Brown, def is quite cheap imo.. I don't want to waste money on 4m defenders who get 2 points every week

This will more than likely be my WC squad going into Saturdays games.

    Vorm, Kenny
Ward, Simpson, De Laet, Baines, Bosingwa
    Young, Silva, Cabaye, Dyer, Petrov
    Dzeko, Rooney, Suarez

So a few things I would appreciate an opinion on.
    1) The lack of Arsenal and Chelsea attacking coverage.
    2) Are the likes of Cabaye, Dyer and Petrov too weak or are they necessary to accomodate the frontline and Baines.
    3) I cant pick a captain if my life depended on it (not that it ever would :P) Please help.

There u are lads. Have a go and ill try and justify myself 🙂

      1. I think that you will be in trouble if you overlook both Arsenal and Chelsea....look ate Walcott/Arteta or Mata/Lampard budget providing.

2.Having 1 of the 3 is fine but going all out top heavy will work every so often but I think a balance is required...I've gone for Rooney Dzeko and I am trying to find a decent 3rd striker on a budget. Also I don't see the fuss with Baines, yes he'll have more set piece duties but I think at 8 mill it doesn't represent decent value.

      3. Either Silva/Rooney I've gone Silva

To conclude I would personally downgrade Suarez and Baines and beef up the midfeild.

Im pretty content on keeping Baines as I think Everton will get at least 1 CS in the next 2 games + free kicks and pens is too hard for me to ignore. Will rid him in GW6.
Have decided on Silva for captaincy as well so you should probably change yours lol.
I think ill wait for Arsenal to find some sort of form first before bringing in the likes of Walcott or RVP.
Would love to have Lampard in their as I think its too early to tell if Mata will be a good buy (altho his 24 minutes or wateva it was 2 weeks ago was beyond impressive). So i think I will downgrade Suarez as his fixtures arent great to fund a some Lampard money. Altho it will be hard.
        Thanks for the input.

Similar to mine, the main difference being that I have upgraded Suarez to RVP and therefore got a cheap defender instead of Baines. A cheap defence is basically my M.O. and its worked up to now.

      So, to answer your questions...

      1. I obviously felt that Arsenal coverage was needed and, for me, RVP is all the coverage you ever need. Chelsea not necessary yet but maybe in two weeks - keeping a close eye on Mata
2.I've gone Dyer, Petrov and Brunt (but Cabaye could be a good punt as well) - I think that's fine. There seem to be a dearth of options in the 6.6 to 9.4 range so you might as well go cheap or you need to go 9.5+

      3. For me RVP makes the decision easy (one of the reasons I went that route). For you I would go Silva if you can stand the small rotation risk or Rooney as a safe be if not. I would be too concerned about Dzeko being on the bench to go that route.

I may end up downgrading Suarez to accomadate for Lampard. Also that makes it easy to downgrade to Mata if he starts playing regularly.

I think its safe to say that Arteta will slot straight into Arsenals midfield. Whether he will have an immediate impact or not is anyones guess. So I think he is a gamble but might be worth it at 8.0.
Sturridge, imo, will not start this week. When/if he does get consistent starts with Chelsea I believe he will be a steal. A wait and see job i think.

Arteta is a good risk to take. But Sturridge is just too much of a rotation risk. Chelsea have 2 tough fixtures I think its a good time to look at how Mata and Sturridge will do, before you get them in.

I think Arteta will not score much but will get assists. Even more with the new rules, because hes one of the most fouled players in the premierleague.

Only for the fact that no-one has any idea as to how they will play, having not featured for their teams this season, I would say be careful...but the flip side is the expectation for good results and the feeling of having called those transfers before bandwagons is also very tempting.

Be cautious if you're chasing but if you're in a decent position in your leagues I think you should go with it..just imagine scoring high on both before others...

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I think Tevez will rotate with Aguero rather...if Dzeko loses for then he will be at risk. Dzeko may get rest this week and doubt over Arteat's influence...Mata to start I reckon...

I say A seems a little bit more reliable long term...across all three players...B I think only has 2 possible long term players there...

First RMT, 3-4-3 formation, so be gentle:

    Vorm, Krul
Jose Enrique, Ward, Bosingwa, De Laet, Taylor(Swa)
    Mata, Nasri, Jarvis, Barton, Ferguson
    Rooney, RVP(c), Suarez

Wildcard in play, 0,3m in bank, so options are:
    a) Suarez/Barton out, Ruiz/Dempsey in
    b) RVP/Jarvis out, Ruiz/Young in

I see...also toying with the Jarvis issue...have O'Hara in mind but been reading he is playing deeper and Hunt seems to be the more attacking of the three...although he's not played a full game yet...

    Morning gents,

Been a reader of this site since last season and I've finally bit the bullet and registered. Won my league at work last season but this international break (coupled with poor scores so far) has completely thrown me and I'm getting closer and closer to WC as the deadline looms. Ideally, I want to wait until at least the next international break or Xmas when cancellations force DGWs.

    Given, Hilario
Kompany, Baines, Bosingwa, De Laet, Senderos
    Sessegnon, Taarabt, Moses, Nani, Yaya
    Holt, Torres, Bent

Any thoughts? I'm looking at RVP for Torres and then my midfield requires work. Have sweet FA in the bank and 2 free transfers.

Torres and Hilario are your major issues at the moment.

I'd also consider Nani and Toure's role in my team.

For me you should go Toure -> 6m (Brunt is my first choice option, but you could take a punt on O'Hara or Cabaye as well). Then use the funds to get RvP for Torres.

Hilario may cost you value when he drops as the masses take him out, but Given is ok for now. Just watch the fixtures and sub out Hilario when Given has a shocker.

      Hello.

Defence is good enough but I'd look to get in some in form/great fixture players in midfield and attack. How about taking a -4 and offloading Nani, Torres and Bent for three out of RVP, Rooney, Dzeko, Nasri, Silva or Walcott? Ideally you'd want to keep Nani but you'll have to cut somewhere to fund RVP if he's the one you want.

well, on first glance you're probably late to the WC train for this GW, having lost out on dzeko/young/rooney rises and having further lost 0.2m on torres and 0.1m on nani.

that said, with yaya looking set to drop before the deadline and the rest of your midfield looking weak, the WC might be a decent option.

if you were to WC, i'd look at the following moves:

hilario > a keeper who will play (no bank change)
baines > a 5.0 or cheaper defender (ward, s/r taylor, etc) (bank +3.4)
      nani > young (bank -0.3)
      torres > rvp (bank -1.1)

leaving you with 2.0 in the bank to tweak the midfield further, getting yaya out (perhaps for arteta at no cost), and upgrading one of sess/taar/moses, or leaving those three and upgrading yaya to silva/mata/nasri.

that's if i've done my maths right.
      torres > rvp

First off, cheers for the swift replies.

I think I may pull the WC trigger, I realise there's a lot of dead weight and some I'd rather remedy sooner than later. Thinking about it, waiting until GW 7-8 to WC won't really put me in a much better position at all and the deficit on my league leaders could skyrocket in 3 weeks given my current efforts.

I'll end up spending the rest of the day now trying to fit Baines into a decent WC team, followed promptly by giving up.

Just wondering what people would do.

rest of team looks good but not sure who to go 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 with the following three options

    Ward (spurs Home)
    Simpson (QPR away)

    or play the defensive midfielder

    Mikel (Sunderland away)

Please no comments on why have I got Mikel... he's out as soon as I can without points deduction

    Thanks

Is it bananas to consider a QPR defender?!? I need a bargain chap, and I'm just convinced enough on De Laet. Already have Simpson/Brown/Kmopany/Bos with Given and Vorm as keepers... thoughts?

Most of the wildcard teams I keep seeing are similar to the generic teams from last week except a couple of minor changes. Is everyone wildcarding just to take advantage of the price increases? I dont get it.

Wildcarded to fix some major issues, and get players in before price increases.

he's always been doubtful, and then pulled off a world class performance v Russia, I'm playing Kenny over Given this week though.

I'm never too worried about a keeper out for a week or two, the other can always come in.
