It’s back. This morning, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game opened its doors for registration ahead of the 2015/16 season, allowing Fantasy managers plenty of time to tinker before the action finally gets underway.

A quick look at the Price List shows only seven players will set you back at least 10.0 – three midfielders and four forwards, with Sergio Aguero the costliest option at 13.0.

Elsewhere, Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been handed a bumper price rise on the back of 21 goals and five assists last season – at 9.5 this time around, he’s no longer budget friendly. Premier League new boys Memphis Depay and Roberto Firmino will both set you back 8.5 – as expected, the duo are listed as midfielders.

The big news, however, concerns a number of new rules to the game. Fantasy managers are handed three chips which they can only play once in a season. This comprises the following:

Bench Boost – Fantasy managers will receive all points from their 15-man squad in a chosen Gameweek.

Triple Captain – allows us to collect three times our selected captain’s score in a specified Gameweek.

All-Out Attack – this allows you to field a 2-5-3 formation in a chosen Gameweek.

It’s worth noting that we cannot use any of these chips in the same Gameweek as a Wildcard. In addition, Fantasy managers can only use one chip in a chosen round of fixtures.

On the subject of Wildcards, there’s been a significant change. Fantasy managers are now handed one wildcard for each half of the season – if you don’t use your first one before Gameweek 20, you lose it. Subsequently, there is no longer a set period for a winter Wildcard.

We now have 30 days to fine-tune our 15-man squads until United and Spurs go head-to-head in the early lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, August 8 at 12.45pm.

As always, we’ll be rolling out a series of Player Price List articles over the upcoming days, breaking them down by position.

For now, though, this is just a heads-up. Enjoy.

No way on earth Levy will sell them Lloris this close to the season start and with no one lined up to replace him.

They want champions league football in that fancy new stadium of theirs...

I think the value of Lloris to that Spurs team is way more than Man U would pay and Levy knows how much a player like him is worth.

Don't like it at all. Also, the wildcard change means that we can use the first one in gw4 ( as usual !) and save the second one for the FA Cup mega-double game week in 36 or whenever it is. We don't have to choose now.

These changes won't stop people from dropping out. They've been tinkering with the game for years but people still give up over Christmas - the problem is with the game schedule in real life, not FPL.

      I'm still deciding

The wc chip is sort of what we've been asking for for a couple of years (1 wc for 1st half and 1 for 2nd)

      The others could be glorious

WC 1 GW before a DGW and get 15 DGWers
Bench Boost in DGW = 32 players (if you count (c) as 4 instead of 2)

A lot of people saying we can't have bench fodder this year and I really don't understand why they suddenly think this is the case? Is it just because of that one chip that lets you play your bench? because unless you are planning to use that early on in the season you can redo your team with a wildcard before you use that chip.

My early new add ons strategy.

If and when there is one big dgw during winter / spring. Load up team full od dgw players with wildcard and use that "all attack" chip to get bench player points rather than using that "triple captain points" chip.

Those bench points could easily surpass that triple captain points.

I know. I won't. But I sort of fear someone in my mini league doing it, and that it works.

3-5-2 could be real option. So much potential in mids 9.0 or below.

More important stuff going on right now - you do realise FPL has just opened? Should've asked yesterday when there was nothing going on...

They talk a bit but it's mostly worthless speculation. I reckon he's staying at United.

    8.5 players

Ozil, Ramsey, Caz, Mata, Di Maria, Depay, Yaya, Oscar, Eriksen, Firmino

How the bloody hell to I pick just ONE of those to keep the 'balance' haha

When I last surveyed, Mata seemed a favourite of the 8.5 bunch.

I think the prices of Benteke and Lukaku makes it hard as well. I try to tell my self to get a pricey option in each part of the team, if only to make transfers easy. But it will be hard this year.

        Lukaku's fixtures aren't great.

You need just one arsenal mid,
      just one manutd mid,
      Hazard/Fabs over Oscar,
      Firmino can wait,
      Eriksen will troll you,
      Yaya when aguero is injured.

There.. narrowed it down to 2/3 πŸ™‚

I know you will say both are awful, but which team name is better?

    Denayer that
    or
    Bony loves Tettey

Tettey should be pretty nailed on at least? And he scores the occasional screamer.

    Oooooh

Crystal Palace have moved a step closer to signing midfielder Yohan Cabaye from PSG.

He is undergoing his medical in London, and Sky sources understand the fee is between £10million. and £13million

      Yes!

Although why we didn't go for him is beyond me. All because he doesn't fit the "blueprint"

I know the feeling, wanted United to get him when he was first leaving Newcastle. Would be an excellent buy for Palace.

Tough one that. Could be a problem in regards to freekicks and penalties?
