It’s back. This morning, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game opened its doors for registration ahead of the 2015/16 season, allowing Fantasy managers plenty of time to tinker before the action finally gets underway.

A quick look at the Price List shows only seven players will set you back at least 10.0 – three midfielders and four forwards, with Sergio Aguero the costliest option at 13.0.

Elsewhere, Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been handed a bumper price rise on the back of 21 goals and five assists last season – at 9.5 this time around, he’s no longer budget friendly. Premier League new boys Memphis Depay and Roberto Firmino will both set you back 8.5 – as expected, the duo are listed as midfielders.

The big news, however, concerns a number of new rules to the game. Fantasy managers are handed three chips which they can only play once in a season. This comprises the following:

Bench Boost – Fantasy managers will receive all points from their 15-man squad in a chosen Gameweek.

Triple Captain – allows us to collect three times our selected captain’s score in a specified Gameweek.

All-Out Attack – this allows you to field a 2-5-3 formation in a chosen Gameweek.

It’s worth noting that we cannot use any of these chips in the same Gameweek as a Wildcard. In addition, Fantasy managers can only use one chip in a chosen round of fixtures.

On the subject of Wildcards, there’s been a significant change. Fantasy managers are now handed one wildcard for each half of the season – if you don’t use your first one before Gameweek 20, you lose it. Subsequently, there is no longer a set period for a winter Wildcard.

We now have 30 days to fine-tune our 15-man squads until United and Spurs go head-to-head in the early lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, August 8 at 12.45pm.

As always, we’ll be rolling out a series of Player Price List articles over the upcoming days, breaking them down by position.

For now, though, this is just a heads-up. Enjoy.

A good 2 x 4.5 keeper rotation? Kasper and Guzan are decent in places.

One thing about Myhill is his first 4 home fixtures are City, Chelsea, Southampton, Everton. Heavy going that one.

          Ha, no worries.

Stoke- Shawcross is nailed at 5m, Bardsely should beat Cameron for the right back spot at 4,5m.

          Bournemouth I have no idea.

Sunderland I don't know. 2 of Coates, Brown and O'Shea at 4.5m, PvA safe at 5m.

          Need more pre-season tbh.

Stoke's Wollscheid is a great option at 4.5, he's looked good since joining in January.

Adam Matthews has just joined Sunderland from Celtic - he's 4.5 and I'd say will be their new RB after all the chopping and changing in that position last year. Van Aanholt is 5.0 otherwise.

Simon Francis (4.5) is a good player at Bournemouth, another RB, got 6 assists last season.

I'm considering Costa and Haz, with Costa as a place holder for Aguero. With 0.5 ITB, I can sell Ivan to raise the extra 1.5m I was thinking for a decent 5.5.

    Keeper thoughts..

With the goal power of Ivan and Terry I still think they are worth the premium over Courtois, given that he'll get hardly any save points, and will obviously be sharing cleanirs with both defenders virtually immune from rotation.

Cech looks good value though to cover Arsenal, as he's the same price as all but Kos who obviously has the goal threat but is injury prone. The full backs are too risky, so it really comes down to Merte's goal threat vs Cech's save points...or the premium for Kos. I might go Cech+4.0.

The fly in this ointment is De Gea. If he goes, and Utd don't replace, I'll be taking Valdes at 5.0 as a one-stop shop with Hamer at 4.0 for a 9.0 keeper pairing.

      • 16 Years

it's the fear of missing out on a 5.5 keeper for me.. Most everyone i know will NOT look beyond one of Cech/Courtois @5.5. Can see their prices rising past 6 million in a few weeks while i'll be trying my best to keep up rotatin my 4.5 keepers and failing.

        I'm against rotation

but you could get Schemichel or myhill as a standalone for 4.5 or even peno save king Adrian at 5.0

Very true. I'd be happy with Cech or DDG, but prefer Ivan to Courtois for Chelsea cover. Need DDG to get on with it.

Then Lloris might move to Utd to complicate things!! 🙂

    My thoughts so far:

Y.Toure seems a good price at 8.5 if Aguero is to miss the first few weeks
Bolasie seems a steal at 6.5 even with rough fixtures
Hazard is perhaps a little too expensive(?) and Fab starts well. Fab and Costa seems the way to go for me.
Some really interesting goalkeeping prices. Lloris at 5 seems a good shout.

Puncheon looks brilliant @0.5 less.. Hazard over Fabs for me. Fabs did well till Mourinho learnt his lesson and changed the system cause they were conceding too many. Hazard bosses the new systems and has penos.
Yaya or Silva is gonna confuse ppl all season

Can't wait for DZ to kick in!
At the moment it's one post after another and no responses/conversation... Almost as bad as weekends during the games 😀

Anyone built a credible team with Aguero, Hazard & Costa?

Here my best effort so far....

    Cech \ Hamer

    Azpi \ Kos \ Mings \ Prodl \ Baker

    Hazard \ Ramsey \ Ritchie \ Ki \ Wanyama

    Aguero \ Costa \ Deeney

My feeling is that the midfield suffers because of it. So many very good options at 8.5.
