Our next members article assessing the previous season takes a look at Sunderland’s campaign, with most of the focus on the impact of new manager, Dick Advocaat.

Following a 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in March, the Dutchman replaced Gus Poyet at the helm, with his side sitting 17th in the league, just a single point clear of the relegation places. Advocaat guided the Black Cats to a 16th-place finish, after picking up three wins and three draws from their final nine matches, with their survival clinched in Gameweek 37 after a goalless draw at the Emirates. After initially turning down an offer to stay on at the Stadium of Light, the Dutchman signed a one-year deal to remain in the North East.

        Heck yeah. I think he's still good value at 5m. Improving talent-wise, and with that attacking flare, I can't resist! If he could just finish a few more of the shot opportunities he creates, he could be some real shiny gold.

    key passes: Tadic 1.97 (Chadli 1.03)
    chances created: Tadic 2.19 (Chadli 1.17)
    assists: Tadic 0.23 (Chadi 0.14)
    goals: Chadli 0.31 (Tadic 0.13)
    shots: Tadic 1.71 (Chadli 1.54)

    Tadic on all set pieces duties for So'ton

    Other offensive players:
    Chadli: Kane+Eriksen
    Tadic: Pelle+Mane

    Have a look on fixtures:

    My thoughts: I am gonna start with Tadic until GW5, and make a change to Chadli.

      I'd be very surprised if he took every set piece. Clasie is a good set piece taker, new to the team, and Davis has been known to take corners. And of course JWP dominates set pieces when he's on the pitch because of his normally stunning execution.

    Premise:
    1. to build a team to facilitate inclusion of Aguero/Sanchez/Sturridge if required without disrupting core.
    2. to make full use of early fixtures favouring Southampton for first few weeks
    3. to include 'premium' players from likely title contenders in DEF, MID and ATTACK

    Notes: 2.0 ITB allows for strengthening if Aguero/Sanchez/Sturridge not deployed.
    Walters because a regular player liked by manager, hard worker always in the thick of it and more like a striker. Think he will flourish with Stokes recent international acquisitions

    A) Ashley Williams

    B) Carl Jenkinson

    I'm on Williams currently. I think WHU's fixtures are slightly better - but only slightly - but I think Williams has much better bonus points potential.
