With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

GKs and Defence definitely needs work I would probably only keep Butland and Az out of that lot to start, Midfield and Forwards look good only Grealish would be a worry

    Minutes per point:

    Aguero - 12.1
    Walcott - 13
    Hazard - 14.2

(last 4 seasons - Hazard only has data for 3 but has played the most minutes anyway)

Lots of other data to take into account no doubt but it shows just show good Walcott's rate is when he plays. This is why people are desperate to have a starting Walcott in their team. It is a risk but can see why they're doing it.

Yup for sure, but a lot of people questioning why he's in so many teams.

I'd be interesting to know (if someone has the data), how often Walcott has been rested when fit in previous seasons. We know he has injury problems but Aguero always seems to get injured once or twice a year as well and we're happy to have him when fit.

        1. Frank Black

Aguero stays fit longer than him before he gets injured. Anyway in 2012/2013 he played 2286 minutes and that was his best season(best FPL season too) with 14 goals and 13 assists, 194 points. That's when he played that great game against Newcastle and got 21 points. He played more minutes the season before that but got less goals/points.

    A) Struggled for CS at the end of last season.
    B) Lost Toby.
    C) Lost Clyne.
    D) Lost Schneid.

I wasn't crazy about them either, but feel like they are starting to turn it around. They found some decent replacements, and still seem to function like a unit with Wanyama and Clasie in front of the defence. I don't really trust that Cedric guy, he seems like he could be a liability and has a tendency to pick up cards. Stekelenburg is a decent keeper when he's on his game, but hasn't played at the highest level for some time. He knows Koeman, so that should help him settle relatively quickly and he can build up the play from deep. Caulker at 5.0 could be a decent pick, and he is a huge goal threat after all.

Attacking wise, they kept their best players, brought some new ones in and got Jrod back. I am fairly optimistic to be honest, and the fixtures justify at least one or two Southampton players in my opinion.

I find it amazing when someone asks a question about selection and someone answers 'x player, for sure' when they actually have no idea and all the evidence points to another conclusion. They just say 'x player, for sure' because they feel that player should start.

Caulker or Yoshida to start? We have no idea. The comments earlier, however, imply Caulker was brought in to provide competition and depth.

You'd imagine Kompany will be back to almost nailed this year unless he starts performing like he did last season.

Then you have players like Azpilcueta and Cahill who will play most games but will get rotated the odd time (although currently I don't think Azpilcueta has much competition).

Koscielny is another you'd imagine will play most games.

For United I wouldn't be sure of any of them being close to nailed but that won't stop me taking a "punt" on Shaw or Darmian (probably Shaw).

Hey guys, 2nd attempt at a team. Feel free to pick at it.

    Ruddy/Butland

    Azpil/Kompany/Clyne/Mert/Targett

    Hazard/Silva/KI/Matic/Bolasie

    Rooney/Kane/Wilson

A few points - Kompany to finally get a decent season after last seasons shocker, Matic is a guaranteed starter and a mint price, Wilson and Kane due to easier starting games. Ki seems weak, not a guaranteed starter (?), couldn't find anyone better.

    Thoughts?

They've had no problems in pre-season and will have played twice as many games as Swansea by the start of the season. Including their UEFA qualifiers. So I say side with Saints.

I take your points on board, I was concerned tho, that the extra games in the season will take its toll on the players. Seen it happen to everton last season

    can i get an RMT?

    Butland - Speroni
    Azpilicueta - Cedric - Huth - Francis - Martin
    Hazard - Ozil - Henderson - Ritchie - Fletcher
    Aguero - Rooney - Deeney

my big question is, should i channel some funds from forwards into midfielders and go for another big mid (Wally, Mane, Sterling etc.)?

Just tried - not possible when picking 3-4-3 (if you pick the highest owned players).

      Wanyama is so high!

      Seproni Rudd
Clyne Steven Taylor, PVA, Azpilicueta, Baker
      Ozil, Hazard, Cazorla, Wanyama, Hendo
      Wilson, Rooney, Deeney

      £5.5 ITB.

I did by selecting the most owned players while keeping under 100.

      Gives you something like this:

      Cech (27.4%) - Schwarzer (10.4%)
      Azpi (20.5%, Iva too expensive) - Clyne (43.4%) - O'shea (12.4%) - Morgan (11.6) - Baker (14.9%)
      Haz (54%) - Hendo (25%) - Depay (24.5%) - Wanyama (19.8%) - Schneiderlin (14.1%)
      Kane (32.3%) - Rooney (30.5%) - Benteke 29.9%

      .5 in the bank.

Best players are fine, but it lacks balance and ignores some fine value players.

You're okay with no MC players? I may be, just unsure right now. I am a huge fan of Silva.

With a lot starting with Walcott the trouble will be when to drop him?

It could be a case of not this week he may start over and over again

Worries me. Most likely doubling up in the midfield with Caz and Ozil.

He is easily moved to Ozil, Caz, Ramsey or Sterling and upgraded for just 1.0 to Silva. You have ways out at that price range to take a risk early.

If he misfires, he can be transferred to a Brady type to makeweight for Kun.

      Won't happen.

He's gonna bang them in and I'd never need to transfer him out. 😎
