With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hi guys, please RMT, I think I've struck a good balance but its hard work getting the formula right!

    Courtois/Krul
    Jagielka/Mertesacker/Cedric/Morgan/Baker
    Hazard/Ozil/Sterling/Chadli/Wanyama
    Rooney/Giroud/Deeney

    Any comment is greatly appreciated!

If you have courtois, I would go for a 4.0 GK.....

      Midfield good.

However I'm nervous about giroid personally, but others will shoot me for saying that. Arsene could easily start with wally up top of he wanted.

If caulker comes in at 4.5, go for him over cedric and then use the 1M you have generated rot turn deeney into sakho.

      Nice team though

After seeing a lot of teams and carefully planning my team here is what i think of this year's Premier league (myself being a fantasy tipster for a big group of mates here at my hometown after devoting ENDLESS HOURS of reading and planning) (Also bear in mind that i finished in the top 200.000 teams despite the fact that i started at GW 2.)

1.It is my strong belief that West Brom will be relegated this year. Other contestasts are sunderland & leicester with bournemouth following.Watford have tranfered in some strong defenders that will mix good with Quique's Wants and Does. Despite what everyone thinks about sunderland, they will be too weak for this contest, leicester will fight too.

    2. Imo players like sterling and depay are not worth their money, because of the time they need to adapt to the new scenery. Yes they are nailed during the pre season, but premier league is extremely different, even for sterling and benteke that are not new to the PL. Players like ozil, Hazard etc are far more certain to score points.

    3. I am not sure why nobody prefers fernandinho at 6.0, a sure starter next to Yaya and a good pick for a fourth midfielder. Hoolahan too, 5.0, set piece taker (fouls penalties and corners), captain of norwich, experienced at the big tables and plays behind the attacker. Great fixtures too.

What do you think on these?

Hoolahan - love him, but won't play week in week out I fear

      1. Too early to tell. Pulis always buys his players late in the window, so there could still be a lot of improvement in his squad. Also - he has never been relegated as a manager, and I doubt he plans to start now. Even as it stands now, I think Watford, Leicester, Bournemouth and Norwich are the most likely candidates to go down.

      2. You don't know - some hit it from day 1 (Sanchez and Costa), and some never do. But it is a risk and I always try to buy players that have been in a club a while. With some punts for fun, of course.

      3. Hoolahan might not play, and Ferandinho plays for a good team, but there are more likely point gatherers in that price bracket.

So in short - I disagree. But I respect your opinion. 🙂

      1. Pulls doesn't get relegated
      2. I think Depay and Sterling will both do well. I'm starting with Depay and plan on getting Sterling in gw4
      3. Never even considered Fernandinho. I think there are 13 mids priced 6m or less than out scored him last season. Confess I don't know much about Hoolahan but isn't Russell Martin captain?

wba under pulis wont go down...one of the best defensive sides who can score goals(berahino)...fernandinho doesnt score enough to justify 6..wanyama might outscore him..sterling/depay are punts who could go either way (main word punts#)

Only big question mark is McCarthy. Is it smart to play Butland every week, or should you downgrade Koscielny to Mertesacker and get in a Schmeichel, Speroni or Ruddy?

Other than that a good team - if Bentaleb plays. I play Wilson in stead of Deeney, but who knows which of them, if either, will be best.

I think Kane will start slowly, hes not played preseason yet and after his poor U21 showing I think he;ll take a while to get going again. You could swap Kane/Sakho for Pelle / Lukaku who've both looked sharp preseason and will almost defo start better.

Opinion on downgrading Henderson to Ritchie?

    I have a stacked midfield - Depay / Hendo / Walcott / Sterling / Hazard

I'm relucant to take out Hendo as the cheaper options dont take my fancy - Ritchie is potentially the only 6m or less option that might get similar output?

I'm not sure that Henderson will bag as many points as last year, he benefitted from the poor contibution from the strikers and now they have Benteke and potentially Firmino when he get drafted in....

    thoughts?

      1. Langley van Gaal

...have Schmeichel and back 3 of Clyne / Williams / Cedric so would probably upgrade one of them

Ideally I'd like Cech/Hart and Chelsea defender - though I not convinced Azpi is worth 6m over some of the cheaper 5.5 options

Personally, I'd rather have two cheap rotating keepers that an expensive one such as Cech/Hart. Don't think they're worth the extra cash. You defence does look as though it needs some investment though.

With regards your original question, I actually have both Hendo and Ritchie as 3rd and 4th midfielders, so I have faith in the latter, but I'd be very reluctant to lose Hendo. I think he's been priced too cheap this year and represents great value (although I'm thinking the same of Milner and I'm torn, as a side issue).

I assume you're going for a consistent 352? Otherwise your midfield looks expensive. Ritchie is a perfectly strong 5th MF in my opinion.

    REPOST

Right guys, getting there now... And I was pretty comfortable until I contemplated a plan to get Aguero in. In my opinion, I have to weaken too much to do so. Can I have some opinions on this two teams:

    Team A:
    Schmeichel (Butland)
    Azpilicueta - Koscielny - Cédric (Coates - Francis) -> 3-way rotation
Hazard - Walcott - Henderson - Richie - Colback -> Colback usually benched for Sakho
    Costa - Benteke (Sakho)

** Toying with the idea of swapping out Colback for Grealish

    Team B:
    Schmeichel (Butland)
Azpilicueta - Mertesacker - Cédric (Coates - Francis)
Hazard - Ozil - Henderson - Richie (Coquelin)
    Aguero - Benteke - Sakho

Obviously, my intention would be not to have Aguero till GW4 (probably going with Rooney GW1), but would have to build my team like this from GW1 (it's too risky to plan my first four transfers already with the potential for non-starters or injuries).

I've also contemplated I could keep Walcott and downgrade Cédric to another 4.5 defender.

I feel Team A is much stronger overall, so is the impact of Aguero (v Rooney/Costa) important enough to weaken as much as I'd need to.

Thoughts on any or all of the above??

Thanks Ralfb. Appreciate your opinion. Unfortunately you've suggested a couple of changes that I'd be resistant to. I'm pretty invested in Hazard as a first-name-on-the-teamsheet players. Had Fab last year, and he did well for me but nowhere close to Hazard.

Interesting, though beware as for example, Murphy of Ipswitch outscored both and he's no good at the top level. Mind, I always get the wrong cheap strikers so will probably avoid all and play 3 premium strikers or just 2 and add Richie to the 4 premium mids.

Very similar to my team, but I have Benteke instead of Pelle and Wilson instead of Sakho

    Please RMT:
I'm not sure about bellerin if he's guaranteed to start

    Pantilimon

    Ivanovic Bellerin Jagielka Cedric

    Hazard Cazora Siggy

    Rooney Kane Aguero

Where is the rest of your team?

Way too much money in defence and forward line- your MF is lacking to say the least

Would not suggest 4-3-3 to start

Also think there are better options than Siggy, Aguero not match fit, Kane not in form, Ozil over Caz, Better options than Jagielka, Belly not nailed...lots of problems but that's just my opinion

Be brutally honest- am I all set?

    _________Ruddy__________
    Koscielny__Huth__Azpilicueta
    Walcott_Ozil__Chadli_Hazard
    Rooney___Sakho___Benteke

    Subs: Butland, Yoshida, Wanyama, Baker

You need another nailed defender you're looking thin. I'm not sold on Benteke or Chadli, Henderson or Milner better choices

Would you say Benteke+Chadli+Baker> Pelle+Hendo+Mings being decent moves?

    2. Could Have Ben Mee

      Yoshida - O Shea

Dunno about double up on Arsenal mids either.

      Walcott - Sterling maybe

      Chadli- Hendo/Milner

1st time doing this. Please Rate My Team

    Cech (Schwarzer)
Ivanovic | Koscielny | Clyne (Francis | Baker)
Hazard | Walcott | Ritchie | Henderson (Wanyama)
    Rooney | Kane | Deeney

Unsure about Walcott and am considering Depay?
Almost definitely going to switch walcott though if Benzama goes to arsenal...

That is one pricey back line

I like them based on 'Points per Million'. If Ivan can get 170 points in a season and midfield players that cost 8.5 can only get 170, then I prefer the pricey back line options.
Only reason I might switch to a cheap back line is when I wild card at some point in season to get Aguero

I think it is well balanced side.. defense is heavy but can make room to raise funds in the future.wilson over deeney maybe?

Maybe ozil/ramser/caz over wally if you want safer option or mata over depay..

Thanks. Have gone back and forth on deeney vs wilson and have landed on deeney who had more goals and is on penalty duty i think.

who is a better 4.0 defender to get over Baker? I don't think I will play the 4.0 defender ever but want someone who won't go down in price at least..

My last thought is switching henderson to Chadli since Erik Lamela looks like he might be going on loan
