With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hi Guys

First time member - please rate this team. I will be playing 352 in 1st week and 343 2nd week.

    Schmeichel (Fabi)
    Cedric Azpul Bacuna (Targett Williams)
    Haz Walcott Mane Cazorla Ritchie
    Rooney Wilson (Sakho)

Targett is clearly short term till Bertie is back.

    Your assistance is much appreciated.

Unfortunately he is definitely not nailed. with the new signings it will most likely put gabby out to a wing, which means there will be a lot of players challenging for where bacuna would play. As a villa fan i would say it's too risky!

Firstly... You're not a member, otherwise you'd have the member icon by your name. 😉

      But, your team...

I think your strikeforce could be stronger. I'd only want one of Sakho/Wilson and a stronger No.2.

You've spent a lot of money on your midfield, which is probably why your strikeforce (and to a lesser extent also your defence) are a little weaker. I'd rather downgrade one of your midfielders and upgrade a striker (perhaps Ritchie, although I do have him in my squad). However, maybe you're planning on playing352, in which case you really can't downgrade on of your midfielders.

I see you've transferred in Moreno now, and that makes the defence a little stronger. You will need to keep an eye on him though, because he's been seen as a weaker link in our defence (I'm a Red) and young Gomez has looked awesome in pre-season (time will tell if it's too soon for him to step up though).

      Same Keepers as me .

Dont like the Mangala pick .

Also Yoshida's place is in Jeopardy with Caulker coming in .

Excellent attack and Mids . Cant argue . I would go CAZ over Ozil for Arsenal .

    Adrian - points from saves
    (Pantilimon) - points from saves
Naughton - assists and clean sheets. Clyne - assists. Fonte - clean sheet. Ivanovic - goals and clean sheets
    (Dann) - He's cheap
Silva - everything. Puncheon - assists. Erikson - everything. Hazard - everything
(Redmond) - played well last time he was in the league and cheap
Pelle- decent fixtures. Gomis - primary goalscorer for swansea
(Deeney) - cheap and did well last season

Can anyone think of suggestions please?

Guys, pick all the holes you can find in this team:

    Myhill (Hennessey)

    Costa, Rooney, Deeney

I think you are one decent player short. You will need to play 2 or Ritchie, Wanyama or Deeney every week. One is crap the other two are unproven. Of course Ritchie could prove to be fantasy gold but I wouldn't like to bet on it.

Defence is good. For a 3-5-2 your front line is very good but I can't help but think any 3-5-2 should have Hazard in it. Newcastle have a tough start to the season and Wijmaldum is new so I think I might avoid.

    Hi guys RMT please 🙂

    Schemeichel - Schwarzer
    Azpi - Kosc - Cedric - O'Shea - Saylor
    Fabregas - Sterling - Ozil - Henderson - Surman
    Costa - Rooney - Sakho

EXPLANATIONS: I know I dont have Aguero, Sanchez and Hazard but I believe that my team is flexible enough to bring them in if needed (when they are ready/have big hauls for hazard). Not going to rotate my keepers as the Foxes have good fixtures barring Spurs and Arsenal (save points). I am aware I have Saylor, I need that 0.5 as I want Henderson>Ritchie / Sakho>Deeney however you see it. Will be my bench folder as O'Shea covers Cedric,Azpi and Kosc well till GW 6. Likewise, I am aware I have Surman instead of Wanyama (Price changes), not really concern with it as its my bench folder.

Monreal might be starting from the bench with Gibbs totally recovered. Ozil is always on the balance because of his inconsistency, why don't you go for Wally or Sigurdson?

      1. lukacz1234
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 6 months ago

Nacho: As an Arsenal fan i can tell you that at the moment Monreal is Wenger's favorite left back. He is propably second nailed defender after Kos.

Ozil: Due to hight rotation risk in AFC's midfielder department I pick mesut, who is nailed as Sanchez is and i expect him to do very well this season (no world cup, he is fully prepared and fit).
Siggy is no way near to Mesut in terms of expected points return (no more delightful synergy with Bony, Gomis is still unproven PL striker, set pieces is not enough).
Walcott and Ozil is a in fact a marginal decision, but i prefer Mesut, coz Walcott is not as nailed as people think, and i wouldnt be surprised when he is dropped for Ox. Of course he would propably be in the starting lineups till Sanchez is back, but worth to mention that there is another competitor for attacking mid department - Wilshere. Wenger sees him rather there, not in a deep-laying positon. So for that reason, i go for Mesut.

Butland nor Krul will score well (Stoke got 9 clean sheets and are looking a lot more attacking these days, Newcastle will be going through internal problems for the foreseeable future). There are other better options, Schmeichel who will for sure give you save points and bonus in a 0-0 draw, also Liecester showed they can defend. He rotates sort of well with Guzan, another good option. There's also, Myhill for a few weeks and the promoted keepers

I would stay clear of promoted teams until we see their capabilities. Personally Deeney has more flare but will probably be stopped by PL defences. Howe had said Bournemouth are gonna attack and possess, likening them to Swansea, so I think Wilson will do well

Sanchez is out for 2/3 weeks (replace with Özil or Walcott), Boruc isn't a sure starter (try Stekelenberg and Guzan), Cresswell may get some attacking returns but don't expect too many clean sheets under Bilic (IMO Clyne is a lot better for the same price), Debuchy has played most pre season games (Sunday should tell whose first choice RB), don't think van ginkel will get many points, and benteke: Liverpool mad 8 changes last and.started badly, this year they made 10, I think that the same will happen

Better, but you can replace your keeper pairing with Stekelenberg/Guzan for the same price, looks a lot better fixture wise and a lot better defences. Wouldn't trust stoke, maybe Moreno? Midfield is looking Golden, attack looks a bit risky.

            hmmm so let say :
            Panti (Guzan)
Azpi-Bellerin-Cedric (Clyne / Naughton) - I don't trust Moreno 😛 even prefer 2gamble with Lovren if need to or maybe Darmian ...
            MID stays
            FOR stays

Unless I get Sanchez or Aguero

There is an element of risk for all three of your strikers, rotation, injury, poor form at the end of last season, new to the league. I'd maybedowngrade some players to get some money (do you really need a 4th big defender? How about a 3 man rotation? I have Liecester, Villa and Sunderland. Or perhaps downgrade a mid to a seriously cheap option, then with that money upgrade Pelle to Rooney who will play up front every game, got set pieces and penalties, promised 25 goals, and was quoted as the first choice pick by the FPL winner. Hope this was helpful

You see I play a draft system at work, so it is very unlikely for me to get let 2 of them 4 players in one team - Sanchez / Silva / Aguero / Rooney - so I do need to make up my mind for the full season.
Regards 4th big defender you 'are actually right, I will probably go for Schlup or Mings

Good with that money, but would use the saved cash if I were you. And O'Shea -> Bassong (or Jenkinson if you decide to splash the cash) for better rotation. Would use money in the bank Özil -> Walcott, Deeney -> Sakho and upgrading 3rd and possibly 4th midfielder.

Okay, getting closer. I have a few options how to finish my lineup, would appreciate your opinion.

    Pants Hennessey
    ____ Cedric Francis ____ 4.0
    Haz Wally Sterling ____ Anya
    Rooney Benteke ____

    A) Mertesacker, Bassong, Mane, Sakho
    B) Koscielny, Jenkinson, Mane, Wilson
    C) Koscielny, Azpilicueta, Ritchie, Sakho

First one has got the funds in midfield and attack, does that lave me too exposed at the back? Would be easy to downgrade Sterling or Mane to fund Aguero for Rooney. Second has funds spread more even, but no Sakho. The last one has the most solid def, but in order to make that happen have to downgrade Mane to unproven Ritchie. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
