With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Interested in some RMT thoughts (will probs play 442, but 433 first week to avoid having my Spurs players in for their trip to old trafford):

    Cech (Myhill)
    Azpi, Clyne, Koz, Alderwiereld (Mings)
    Hazard, Cazorla, Sterling, Chadli (Abdi)
    Lukaku, Benteke (Deeney)

    Worried about:
    1. both my cheap bench players being Watford in Abdi and Deeney
    2. whether the fact I'm a tractor boy fan is making me pick Mings where there are better cheap bench options
    3. That I'm not thinking enough about rotation - just looking for straight up consistent on-field players with only enough cover to park players in rotten weeks (EG. GW1 - Mings for Aldi, Deeney for Chadli and play 433)

Loads invested at the back but still quite like this. Id swap Clyne -> Cedric and Abdi -> Schneiderlin

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah - i was worried about the big spend at the back. But this site convinced me there was value there!! But I'm not so sure. That abdi-Schneiderlin swap a good thought - that's gonna rattle around me head for a while.

Only worry is Aguero from GW3 and you'd have a lot to make up if you wanted. With that defence the attack looks good though.

I think Schneiderlins great value at 5.5m. Think he scored in pre season and LVG has said he wants goals from him so has been working on finishing

Morning, first RMT post this season feel free to tear it to pieces!

    Boruc/Fed, Myhill
    Ivanovic, Koscielny, Huth, Bassong, Angella
    Hazard, Walcott, Chadli, Ritchie, Wanyama
    Rooney, Benteke, Deeney

Tried to have range of prices in Mid/Attack in hope someone will take off.

    Cheers!

    Deeney, Rooney, Pellè

      Looks decent id consider:

      1) Courtois -> Cech (already have Chelsea, no Arsenal)
      2) Not keen on Clyne with Liverpool.
      3) Depay -> Caz/Ozil/Walcott (always wary of signings from abroad and already Rooney)
      4) Coq -> Bentaleb/Wanyama

Been reading these types of posts all summer but haven't posted. Tell me whats strong/weak about the team..

    TEAM
    Cech (Butland)
    Clyne, Janmaat, O,Shea (Angella, Baker)
    Hazard, Henderson, Sterling, Richie (Puncheon)
    Costa, Rooney, Deeney

    ROTATION:
Cech/Butland when Cech is up against the big boys
O'shea/Angella (Baker likely not to be used at all)
    Richie/Puncheon.

Don't really know much about tactics but I'm trying to make a decent stab at it this year! Feedback would be great!

      Like it a few thoughts

      1) Puncheon/Richie is a lot of money on the bench. Maybe swap one for a 5m or less mid
      2) No Arsenal attack. Try to get Henderson to Ozil/Walc/Caz. Not sure how many set pieces Hend will take with Milner there and the Arsenal mids better for captain choice.
      3) No Chelsea defender. Maybe Clyne to Azpi
      4) Costas hamstring. Think he got subbed off recently

Interesting, Like the feedback - especially clyne.

        Heres what I'm thinking now.:

        Clyne out / Azpi in
Hendo, Puncheon out / Cazorla Bentaleb in (Better suggestions than bentaleb welcome)
        Costa out / Lukaku in

this also leaves me with 2.5 in the bank so I can straight swap cazorla for sanchez in a few weeks?

I think I'd rather sanchez over aguero for the top dollars!

Would love some RMT thoughts. I've been chopping and changing for days as I presume most have been!
    Schemical
    Clyne Cedric Azpi
    Hazard Depay Sterling Mane
    Kane Rooney Deeney

    Bench: Hennessy Baker STaylor Wanyama

    1) Costa or Kane?
    2) arsenal cover? Does giroud deserve a mention?

    1. HUMAN TRIPOD
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 6 months ago

      1) Kane, just so have more money elsewhere
      2) Think everyone needs Arsenal attack. Big Walcott fan and Wenger has been playing him upfront. Depay is unproven in prem and already have united cover with Rooney

An arsenal defender would be nice as well

Cheers for the reply, yeah Walcott could be a good shout, would have to downgrade Clyne to a 5.0m defender to fit him in. Do you haven n'y suggestions? Williams perhaps?

Ne bother. Williams is a good shout not sure if they'll match the record from last year though. Or Lescott/Dawson. A Pulis defence is usually safe bet

    Any advice welcome:

    Schmeichel/Schwarzer
    Ivanovic/Koscielny/(Mings/Dummett/O'Shea) Rotation
    Ozil/Sterling/Fabregas/Walters (Wanyama)
    Sakho/Costa/Rooney

Going to see how Costa's hamstring does and may look to drop him to Adebayor.
This would then mean I can upgrade Cesc to Hazard and have enough cash left to switch Rooney to Aguero at some point.

    Feelings on Rooney this season?

So, my 2 options seem to be:

      TEAM A
      Schmeichel/Schwarzer
      Ivanovic/Koscielny/(Mings/Dummett/O'Shea) Rotation
      Ozil/Sterling/Fabregas/Walters (Wanyama)
      Sakho/Costa/Rooney

      TEAM B
      Schmeichel/Schwarzer
      Azpi/Mertesacker/(Mings/Dummett/O'Shea) Rotation
      Ozil/Sterling/Fabregas/Walters (Wanyama)
Rooney/Aguero/Adebayor (if he goes to Villa)

Gotta be TEam B right? Downgrading Ivan->Azpi and Kosc->Mert

Clearly too much in defence will effect you in other areas. You will be praying you'd spent the money elsewhere. Start again IMO. The first points of issue being Clyne and Darmian.

Afternoon lads. Please RMT. £2mil in the bank but realise this has cost me in places - Fair bit of money spent at the back too:

Courtois not necessary I think. I'd downgrade Cresswell and Jagielka as I dont think they are worth the price and make alterations up fron and in midfield. You don't want to be relying on Ritchie, Mahrez and Barry each week coupled with a sicknote in Wally and may as well be sicknote Jerome.

First ever post. First ever RMT.

    Cech, Rudd

Darmain, Clyne, Jenkinson, Van Aanholt, Taylor (or other 4 million bench fodder)

    Hazard, Chadli, Sterling, Walcott, Wanyama

    Rooney, Benteke, Defoe

Given that I usually wildcard fairly early I'm comfortable heading into the season with the two Sunderland players. I think Defoe has the potential to be one of the early bandwagons and experience a nice price rise before I wildcard. Part of me is tempted to swap Van Aanholt for a 4.5 and upgrade one of Darmain/Clyne to Azpi but I just feel slightly more comfortable with this version.

Rightly or wrongly Hazard, Sterling, Walcott, Rooney and Benteke are the five players I've come back to time and again and it just comes down to whether I go for this more balanced approach or stick Kane in for Defoe and risk the 'uber' defence of all 4.5s and 1 4m. This version would also see Chadli become a 6.5 or lower (probably Adam Johnson considering my early, and probably misplaced, faith in Sunderland).

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

I like it. Defoe is the only question mark, but you got confidence in him so go with it. Solid midfield. I agree it would be nice to an Azpi or Kosc in your defense, but I don't think it's a big deal for the opening GWs. Good luck!

Cheers mate. Defoe is a punt but I think I'll stick with him in the short term, even if he starts a few on the bench I can see him hitting 4 in those first 6 games. One of the budget strikers will do that or something similar and my money's on him. Good luck to you too.

Is it better to rotate goalkeepers or have one good solid keeper?
    I.e Boruc + Adrian or Cech + 4.0

Depends on poeple, some don't like the bench heqdache it may incur them.
I have an 8.5 leicester combo myself and will consider doubling GK when using those new chip cards (DGW then) but not before, GK are merely 8% of your total score so...

    Anyone fancy rating this?

    Butland / Myhill
    Mertesacker / Darmian / Cedric / O'Shea / (Turner)
    Hazard / Walcott / Silva / Ritchie / Wanyama
    Kane / Rooney / Deeney

    Thanks 🙂

A bit concerned by your back line as Mert and Darmian are in danger of rotation and you have only 4 playing defenders. Deeney + ritchie playing every week is a gamble that could pay off but Watford early fixtures look tough to me, i would rather go with Defoe myself
