The FFS Rate My Team Surgeries

With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

      template team, only Tadic out of ordinary, so seems like a good team, lacking man city offensive coverage is a Nono for me, I would spend those 1.5 and upgrade Tadic to yaya/Sterling.

    I am surprisesd by the lack of love for the 3-5-2 this season, with not many in form strikers and all those scoring midfielders. Have I missed something that would go agasint 3-5-2 formation ?
    Here is my team at the moment, based on fixtures and last year's results.

    Schmeichel - Schwarzer

    Azpi-Cédric-Francis-O'shea-S.taylor

    Haz-Wally-Sterling-Henderson-Depay

    Kane - Pelle - Van Wolfinskel

    I wouldn't know what big 3rd striker i would want, Rooney and Costa were far from convincing me in pre-season and Aguero not fit (hopefuly). Therefore i prefer to invest in midfield, makes sense ?

      The problem witha 3-5-2 is that you have to bench a higher proportion of your budget, than with 3-4-3.

          Benching Van Wolfinskel @5m. In a 343 you can bench Wanyama @4.5m. Gives you an extra 4.5m to invest.

              But your stuffed using low value bench warmers when there's an injury. I prefer some flexibility.

      I'm a big believer in having the home rotation for keepers when going for budget. In this case LEI and SWA rotate and so you could swap Schwarzer (4.0) for Fabianski (5.0). Though if you're pushing for a keeper you'll never use, you definitely have the lowest budget option. I would still try to find that extra 1 to upgrade to Fabianski.

      Something worth considering.

      Cech might have more saves than Courtois but Kos is more a threat than Azpi... Tough..
      I would go B nonetheless, just because Kos is injury prone while Azpi is gonna play every game this season

    Can get Clyne in for one of the cheap defenders if I downgrade Cazorla to Siggy but Cazorla seems to be doing the business pre-season. Also wondering whether Huth would be better than Ward or Francis.

      It's actually very good for the money.

      I think Fabregas --> Hazard and Costa --> a cheaper striker is a better pick though.

      Use some of that 3.5 in midfield as its a waste not using it. Benteke might not start. Kolarov is not a certainty to start. Milner to Hendo.

      I'd personally ditch Yaya and Milner for Mane and Henderson... gives you an extra 0.5 to spend as well. Both are probably past their peak while the others will improve on last season.
