We’re trying a new approach to the ICT articles, focussing on individual teams and tactical decisions in the Gameweek gone by. Saturday’s game at the Stadium of Light saw three players -Raul Meireles, Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge- all make their first league starts of the season for Chelsea and Nicolas Anelka also played the central role of the front three for the first time this campaign.

The 2-1 win means Chelsea maintain their chase of both Manchester clubs at the top of the table and all four played a significant part in the victory. Here’s some analysis on their ICT ratings and how each of the quartet fared overall:

What transfer do people think i should do this week? 0.2 in bank

    Given Mignolet

Enrique Cole A Kompany Bosingwa Senderos

    Silva Taarabt Moses Sessegnon Sinclair

    Bent Van Persie Long

Possibly Jagielka in for one of the Chelsea defenders?

Agree with this (re Everton defence), would be the same concern I'd have with Bolton attack (as much as I think it would do well)

I'd try get rid of Sess or Long.

The link to your team doesn't work, so I can't see how you've done, but how can you make the claim that your team has been poor the last three gameweeks?

You must have had an outstanding gameweek last weekend with that lineup. I don't see it at all.

I don't necessarily think it's too early to wildcard. But generally I like saving mine for when the injuries start piling up or I want to take advantage of some double gameweeks, or if it's clear that several of my players are simply not performing.

None of that applies to you, but it's just my opinion. Your team looks excellent.

Bosingwa, Kompany, Jagielka, Simpson, De Laet
              Silva, jarvis, N'Zogbia, Mikel, Moses

Ah, I see. That makes sense. Still don't think you need to wild card. Focus on getting Mikel out of our lineup, then you'll probably want to transfer Jags after this gameweek. But other than that, I don't see any need for urgency.

Most of my rivals are doing great despite going against every rule in the FFS book. Typical team:

    De Gea - someone else
    Cahill - R.Taylor - Some other defenders
Adam - Silva - Some other midfielders
Rooney (cpt every week) - Aguero - Someone else

I am, however, doing pants. Conclusion: tear up the rule book and start again?

I wouldn't © rooney this week Doosra. He can't score hat tricks every week! Hernadez to nick the goal. 1-0 or 2-1 utd.

One goal will do me. The time to stop is when he does. Captain at home, someone else when he's away. One thing guaranteed to make Rooney go is the colour blue ... 🙂

OK all, very simple question. Rooney, Aguero or Klasnic as cpt. I'm playing all of them up front but Rooney and Aguero have tougher opposition but amazing form, whilst Klasnic has an easy opposition.

    Help! 😀

Then again I could put Young or Silva? lol

Spurs have a quality midfield and forward combo if they can keep them fit. Shame their defence is a lame.

Massively improved defence when King is fit. Unfortunately that is only about 10 games a season.

I think it will be cagey and tight. Dalglish will play safe. These two are potential 4th place finishers so cant afford to lose.

neither. song too defensive and benayoun too benchy. could very easily be a song, frimpong, arteta, gervinho, walcott, rvp front 6

Scored well so far 274 points - but have thinking of using my wildcard to change Hilario, Smalling, Bosingwa, Kompany and Fletcher

    To end up with :

    Given Al Habsi
Taylor R Senderos Simpson Ward Lopez
Nani Mata Silva Moses Ferguson (Newcastle)
    Rooney Van Persie Zamora

    Should I change?

      No. Go for:

      De Gea
      Evra. Jones. Ferdinand. Evans
      Nani. Anderson. Carrick. Young
      Hernandez. Rooney

But not this week cos they've got Chelski.....

need to free some up some money:

    a) Arteta for Benayoun (not sure if he'll start though)
    b) Woodgate for a 4m QPR defender (Gabbidon/Hall depending on who'll start)
