Our usual post-Gameweek article for members arrives this evening as we delve deeper into the data for the first round of fixtures. Leicester’s two-goal hero, Man City and Southampton’s chief creators, Swansea’s improved goal threat and an eye-catching cameo from Arsenal’s Chilean all come under analysis.

    Myhill - (McCarthy)

    Cedric - Jenkinson - Coates - (Huth) - (Francis)

    Hazard - Mane (C) - Ozil - Sterling - (Surman)

    Rooney - Kane - Sakho

Good to go? I'm considering Ozil to Payet given WHU's next two fixtures. Do it or save?

Just looking at plans for transfers/ WC, for me alot will ride on Aguero vs Chelsea.

If hes relatively quiet i think i can hold Rooney and push it to GW4 without him

Had a look a this for a GW4 WC team

    Ruddy/ Rudd
    Azpi/ Williams/ Huth/ Coates/ 4.0
    Hazard/ Sanchez/ Hendo or Milner/ Depay/ Westwood
    Aguero/ 5.5/ Sakho

Azpi can be Darmian if i need the extra 0.1's.
The 4.5's at the back open to change

    Any thoughts?

It looks tidy to me, Paul. the 5.5 attacker maybe the only thing giving me slight pause. I feel you may do well to swap him and Memphis with two different dudes. Loads of mid-priced midfielders seem appealing to me at the moment. If, of course, Memphis continues to stagnate.

Yep, Depay was my punt, had (and still do) a 'good feeling' about him. Maybe with money so tight him to 7m makes more sense. Will continue to shift things around

Too light upfront. I think you need a mid priced option (Benteke, Pelle, Giroud, Kane) in there for flexibility for future transfer. Try to downgrade Sanchez to fund it.

Not sold on WC GW4 idea. If your team is decent enough, I think you should aim to WC GW8/9

      1. Joggers Nipple

        Cheers Nabil.

        Current team is
        Ruddy/ Rudd
        Azpi/ Williams/ Huth/ Coates/ Targett
        Hazard/ Ozil/ Depay/ Sterling/ Bentaleb
        Rooney/ Benteke/ Sakho

If i hold FT this week i can actually do
        Benteke to 5.5
        Rooney to Aguero
        Sterling to Hendo/Milner

for a-4. Leave exact cash for Ozil to Sanchez.

I'm not convinced by Depay ( hope I'm wrong) but he looks too greedy to me. Apart from that you have a good team. Why wildcard so early!

Think annoyance at my GW score and my desire to get Kun. Will try to practice patience.

Some positive points this week for-
            Benteke
            Rooney
            Depay
            Hazard
            Ozil
            Sakho
            Sterling

and i will of course be happy with my team again!

          • 13 Years

That's a great team. No need to WC in GW4, please!

If Benteke scores a brace, would you still go with that plan? And Sterling might still be a good pick in GW4.

I think there's no need to rush Sanchez-in. Even if he explodes I won't panic just yet. I still think ARS midfield is minefield, and the trend will continue as long as everyone's healthy, and that's not so good for FPL.

    Migs

He's way better than Ward for FPL. But if I had to choose one for the rest of the season I'd pick Coloccini. I think their defense will be tidy this year once their fixtures turn.

Butland -> Ruddy (better rotation for Migs) or 4.0

Big gamble to go without CHE studs but one way to play it and might reward you. Have a plan to have multiple MCI in GW4; if not by GW8.

I haven't done an analysis, but I suspect the interesting selection of high scorers this week is leading to less clear cut bandwagons this week. Among the hardcore players (a relatively small portion of the total I admit), the saving of a FT in anticipation of an Agüero transfer may be having an effect too. And there may be a few more GW1 wildcards flying around than usual because of the generally poor GW1 scores.

Assuming Hazard matches last year's totals.

Would Payet + 4M spent on upgrades elsewhere (e.g. Ritchie > Silva) outscore Hazard?

Simply which will have better season totals (include captaincy in weeks when it in not on Aguero)

    A. Hazard + Ritchie
    B. Payet + Silva.

It will be close over a season but probably A as you'd never captain Silva with Aguero in your team. That said I think we need two City forwards for gw4-10

This. The captaincy option always swing it.

But there's a notion this season that everyime Haz is a captaincy option, Kun has a better fixture. Maybe he's dispensable this season (when not in form) after all.

Priced out of Mahrez there makes me sad 🙁 You should have probably done that earlier. As it stands I'd probably sit tight and start Targett.

I thought i'd give Ki a chance for GW2, but if he fails to make the GW2(depending on presser), i think i'd better replace him. Shelvy, Kouyate comes to mind... What do u think?

I don't expect him to play at all. That said, I don't think there is enough in those transfers compared to starting Targett that it's worth making. I'd rather save and double switch him out before GW3 for someone actually good. Probably through losing Walcott.

    GW2

    Schemiecel
    Cedric Kos Coates
    Hazard Walcott Mane Ritchie
    Rooney(C) Benteke Deeney

    Butland Azpi Bentaleb Saylor

2M in bank for a dreamy Argentine..

    1 - Walcott--->Payet or Ayew
    2 - Ritchie --->Albrighton or Mahrez
    3 - Save FT

Pretty set on making a transfer but not sure who to sell first

Save would be the wiser move. But i understand your mindset of making a transfer... I dont like walcotta uncertainty, that would make me nervous going into the gw but id think he would start this time. I cant really comment on ritchie cos i didnt watch that game, and hardly know who he is!

If transfer activity picks up today - as it tends to on the last day before a Gameweek deadline - then Walcott could be in danger of a price fall.

Walcott is now just under 8,000 short of a fall according to FPLStats. He had over 5,500 net transfers out on Wednesday, according to FISO.

Yes, once a player gets into the real danger zone (Walcott isn't there just yet, but could be later today) transfers often accelerate as players move to sell ahead of the likely impending fall.

    Ideas on this lot?

    Ruddy ⚪ Rudd
    Koscielny ⚪ Cédric ⚪ Morgan ⚪ Coates ⚪ Gomez
    Hazard ⚪ Walcott ⚪ Sterling ⚪ Ritchie ⚪ Westwood
    Rooney ⚪ Benteke ⚪ Pellè

1 FT, £0.0m in the bank.

    a) Sell Walcott
    b) Sell Sterling
    c) Sell Hazard for Sanchez
    d) Sell a forward
    e) Sell a mid & fwd
    f) save
    g) something else

Yes, the thought of going without Arsenal is a little scary, but which one? Ozil, Ramsey and Cazorla would all be easy downgrades from Walcott, but would they deliver the points?

So pellegrini is very confident we are going to see the yaya of 13/14 season (he said in his press)... Think this could be the case?

If it is then im torn on who i want in my wildcard team.. Mane or Yaya. Can afford both. Its reallt giving me the shits because that season i ignored yaya for most of it and i reallt dont want to go through that again. Rant over.

i think the smarter move is to stick with mane for now and watch the next two city games. And hopefully mane delivers as i think he should.

Okay lads. 14.5 to spend on a mid and a defender. Which option would you pick?

    Stekelen
( ) darmian, alderwerield, gomez, oxford
( ) Sanchez, Eriksen, Payet, Mahrez
    Aguero, Gomis (inghalo)

    A) silva and a 4.5.. Maybe coates or francis
    B) toure with 6.0 to spend
    C) mane with 6.5 to spend. Which defender?

Currently on mane and kompany.. Mainly cos citys fixtures are perfect with my other def fixtures.
