Yesterday’s slim fantasy pickings has undoubtedly heaped the pressure on today’s four Premier League games to deliver. The Dugout Discussion chatroom will take you through them all, starting at White Hart Lane with Tottenham Hotspur versus Liverpool and culminating in Chelsea’s visit to champions Manchester United.

In and amongst those back-to-back games, two of our Europa League representatives, Stoke City and Fulham, take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and Manchester City at Craven Cottage respectively.

The “Super Sunday” opener kicks-off shortly, and here are the all-important team sheets…

Tottenham XI: Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto, Kranjcar, Parker, Modric, Bale, Adebayor, Defoe.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Jose Enrique, Henderson, Lucas, Adam, Downing, Suarez, Carroll.

Catching the eye are the big strike-partnerships both sides have named. Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor continue upfront for Spurs, whilst Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll start together for only the second time in the league this season.

Another headline is the return (to the substitutes bench at least) of Rafael van der Vaart, and it’s worth remembering he is not in Spurs’ Europa League squad.

Feast or famine, the Dugout Discussion chatroom will be here for you all day.

    Aguero, Silva, Dzeko & Nasri

Got to be Mancini's 1st choice front 4 now. Obviously there will be rotation, but these 4 should play the majority

Adam's challenge was lunging with studs up, but in his defence he probably didn't even see Parker coming in like a rocket. Combine this with the fact that there was considerable physical contact and it's a fair sending off, really.

It was easily a yellow, don't be ridiculous... there doesn't have to be intent for it to be a yellow. Unlucky, maybe, but definitely a yellow.

Agree with this. I'm not sure when intent to harm became a prerequisite of a yellow card.

Who cares if his eyes were on the ball or not. He missed it, and planted 6 studs in Parker's leg.

It was such as big mistake playing Carroll in a game like this. We were playing good passing football without him in the side.

I hope Carroll will be replaced by Kuyt or Gerrard in the second half.

Suarez needs to shut his flippin mouth.

All he's been doing today is shouting and gesticulating angrily at his team mates and mouthing off at the referee when he knows that this ref is dishing out cards like its confetti at a wedding!

    A-hole.

May get rid this week, home to Wolves next week or not! Grrrr!

long term a good half of football:
firstly a nice reminder to dalglish that adam is the worst centre midfielder in the league defensively.
secondly now coates is blooded it will give him an excuse to drop carragher once agger is fit.
thirdly a rude awakening to ridiculous media and fan expectations over liverpool. they drew home to a struggling sunderland, they beat a 10 man struggling arsenal late on (thanks largely to a man they've now sold), and they beat an utterly wank bolton side. tottenham have clearly improved in the transfer market with adebayor whilst liverpool it's arguable whether they've done anything more than buy a good left back and natural left winger at last and bought some uninspiring depth in midfield.
fourthly another reminder that carroll really does have the touch of a parkinson's sufferer, his touch before adebayor fouled him was genuinely hilarious.
fifthly another reminder that suarez is vermin.
