The EA SPORTS PPI scores for Gameweek five are now available and the Fantasy Premier League bonus points have been awarded. Here’s a full breakdown of how they map out match by match. Look out for our round-up of the key factors that contributed to the awards over at the Scout column on the FPL site later today.

Aston Villa 1 Newcastle 1
Best 3, Agbonlahor 2, Tiote 2

Leon Best’s strike for the visitors was enough to see him fetch the 3 bonus points, with team-mate Cheik Tiote and Villa’s Agbonlahor returning identical PPI scores, the honours for the 2 bonus were shared. That denied Danny Simpson – he came in next in the PPI rankings.

Bolton 1 Norwich 2
Pilkington 3, Barnett 2, Morison 1

Anthony Pilkington and Leon Barnett grabbed the plaudits for Norwich at the Reebok and duly claimed the bonus points here – Pilkington’s goal and Barnett’s resolute defensive display earning them recognition. Steve Morison’s performance helped him earn a single bonus, with Martin Petrov Bolton’s leading performer trailing David Fox, Bradley Johnson and Russell Martin in the PPI stakes.

Blackburn 4 Arsenal 3
Yakubu 3, N’Zonzi 2, Arteta 1

Yakubu’s brace earns him the top overall EA Sports PPI score of the Gameweek with 47 – making him a clear front-runner for the maximum FPL bonus in this match. Steve N’Zonzi grabs the 2, with Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta earning a single bonus point for his goal and overall performance. The Spaniard edged out Junior Hoilett, Scott Dann and Gervinho who all notched up strong PPI scores.

Everton 3 Wigan 1
Jagielka 3, Hibbert 2, Vellios 2

As expected, Phil Jagielka earns the maximum here courtesy of his equalising goal and all-round defensive display. Tony Hibbert’s fine cross for the Vellios header has him collect the 2 and, with an identical PPI to the Greek, he shares the award. That meant that Royston Drenthe missed out on earning a single bonus point – he ranked next in the PPI scores for David Moyes’ men.

Fulham 2 Man City 2
Aguero 3, Murphy 2, Zamora 1

Sergio Aguero gathers another batch of bonus with his brace of goals for visiting City. Fulham’s fightback sees both goalscorers – Danny Murphy and Bobby Zamora earn recognition, with Clint Dempsey just outside the reckoning.

Man United 3 Chelsea 1
Nani 3, Young 2, Smalling 1

Few surprises here – Nani’s goal and assist were enough to see him as a clear PPI leader, leaving team-mates Ashley Young and Chris Smalling in his wake. Jonnny Evans and Wayne Rooney ranked next for the home side, with Jose Boswinga Chelsea’s top PPI performer on the day.

Sunderland 4 Stoke City 0
Gardner 3, Bramble 2, Larsson 1

As expected, three of Sunderland’s scorers dominate the PPI and FPL bonus. Craig Gardner narrowly edged out team-mates Titus Bramble and Seb Larsson, with Wes Brown ranking next for the victorious home side. Peter Crouch was beaten Stoke’s top PPI performer.

Swansea 3 West Brom 0
Lita 3, Dyer 2, Sinclair 1

A goal and an assist were enough to see Leroy Lita earn the maximum from this match – Scott Sinclair, whilst matching Lita’s output, presumably suffering a PPI penalty for several efforts off target. Nathan Dyer sandwiched these two for bonus points, as Swansea ran riot at the Liberty. Joe Allen and Ashley Williams were just outside the top three PPI rankings with Nicky Shorey the highest rated performer for the Baggies.

Tottenham 4 Liverpool 0
Adebayor 3, Modric 2, Defoe 1

A superb display, capped by two well-taken goals, saw Adeabyor amass an impressive PPI score in the win over Liverpool. No surprises to see him claim the maximum here then, with fellow goalscorers – Luka Modric and Jermain Defoe – picking up the remainder. Benoit Assou-Ekotto can count himself unlucky to miss out on bonus having put in a strong shift, while Jamie Carragher was the top PPI scorer for the forlorn visitors.

Wolves 0 QPR 3
Faurlin 3, Barton 2, Wright-Phillips 1

Faurlin’s fine strike for QPR’s second goal has him collect the three bonus, although, with Barton earning 2 – we might even see a change here. Barton appeared to assist Faurlin’s goal with both Wolves clearances occurring inside the penalty area before the Argentine converted his shot. Wright-Phillips picked up a single bonus as reward for another encouraging display in the free-role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So Merieles has started both games since his move from LIverpool, could he be good budget Chelsea cover or to much of a risk?

Now My cap (Rooney) miss PK really hurt my GW scores 🙁

Is it worth 4 pts hit to do Dzeko to Adebayor??
I already did use my 2 free transfer to ditch Nzog and Yaya out for Silva + Obaton

two changes for me this week

    Bent -> Sturridge
    Suarez -> Rooney

Did well on 59 points this week, team for GW6 is

    Al Habsi (vorm)
    De Laet/Bosingwa/Taylor R
    Moses/Arteta/Young/Silva
    Rooney/Sturridge/Aguero

    Warnock/Jagielka/Ferguson

I do have some concerns, i want to get rid of Jags bad run of game and Moses cos hes been shite. I'm not taking hits this round 😉

From price perspective, I think it's too late for Dzeko > Adebayor..
From point perspective, Dzeko might easily outscore Adebayor (if play a part).
      He's at home to Everton.

I have the exact same team as you and, if price allow, I plan to keep RVP for another week.

to be fair, they already get 4/5/6 points as a reward for scoring the goals - bonus points should really go to the other players who played well

I think it's one of the aspects that make the game better. Much prefer it to be subjective, though - the stats-based algorithm doesn't really promote any heated debate or camaraderie which is a vital component of the FFS site. It wasn't fair but at least it was fun!

But you see, the duty of bonus points is to award players. Not to even out total points given to players. It's a bad argument to say that 'he already got 4/5/6 points for a goal'

If someone deserves it, he deserves it. Regardless of the other points he might have got.

Granville, any chance of a podcast moan about the cold algrhythm of the BPs and how players who score and assist are so heavily penalised for shots off target. How Larsson and Sinclair only got 1 bp god only knows. Larsson especially. I prefer a man in the stand saying 'yer, two assists and a goal...give that man 3bps'.

glad rooney didn't get any though...my march to the top of our H2H continues.

Only problem now is that all my mini league rivals have Aguero and I don't. Do I dare transfer out RVP (who none of them own) for him? It sounds insane on paper, but can't afford another week with no aguero coverage on his form.

To be fair - in the case of Larsson, we had both Gardner and Bramble just ahead on Influence in the ICT (even though Larsson came out on top overall in the Index). Gardner made more than twice as many completed passes while Bramble had 8 clearances - both those factors had them pip Larsson for Influence. I'm not totally surprised to see the EA PPI match up then - may well be the same factors at play - not shots off target at all.

Its still such a lame system. Either they should go the way of Metro and give pts for all of the above (I incidentally prefer Metro this season over FPL)

Or they need to work out which is more worthy of bonus lots of tippy tappy passes or actual goals and assists. Larsson created or scored three out of four goals. If that is worth less than tapping a ball around the middle of the park then the system is skewed in my opinion.

Well, this week's baps look very similar to what were awarded last season. They're pretty much all the goalscorers. The last few gameweeks have been a tad unpredictable. I'm also noticing that unlike previous weeks, there are no equal bonuses this time around. You would think that at least one game would have that.

Kompany - Bosingwa - Ward - Simpson - Da Laet

    Rooney - Aguero - Best

        2. Already had Dyer and Silva.
        3. I think Arteta looks the goods along with Barton, brought them in for Cabaye and Moses.
        4. Nani in for N'Zog is genuine as N'Zog has been a let down.
        5. Aguero is always scoring and not having him is annoying me.

Sturridge was pretty poor yesterday, went missing a lot a flufefd his lines when he got a chance. Do we think AVB will still give him a chance? Still worth a punt at 6.5?

The good thing about AVB is that he generally gives his attacking subs 20 - 30 mins... he's not your usually time-waster manager. I'm kinda thinking of taking the risk, knowing that he'll almost certainly get at least 20 mins to rescue some points if he doesn't start. If he does start, I can see goals.

I have a team in free fall when it comes to value, so I have a few ideas but a few I’l just need to embrace the fall in value.
    Given Kenny
Enrique Simpson Cole N Taylor Bardsley
    Silva Nzogbia Moses Taarabt Sinclair
    Bent RVP Bent
8 Point hit to shoot (A)
    Bent – Aguero

    Holt – Aguero

First knee jerk & 4pter of the year:
    Dzeko > Aguero
    Suarez > Adebayor

    Given (Ruddy)
    Bosingwa Kompany Enrique (Brown, Simpson)
    Young Silva Brunt Moses (Dyer)
    Rooney© Aguero Adebayor

Could not resist Aguero's firepower. Adebayor should play every game and will do well with the service at spurs.

Indeed... 4pts to ship out Dzeko and Suarez is just laughable and a typical FFS knee-jerk transfer. Suarez could score a bucketload against a Wolves side who just conceeded 3 agaisnt QPR, and I don't see Aguero starting at the weekend. Those transfers could easily ended up as -20pts.

All fair points, but Aguero is on fire and ade will be good for the spurs. You can only have 3 strikers so I would rather have 2 in form (roon-dog, Aguero) and one that can do well.

Suarez, who if you watched them play spurs looked frustrated and out of sorts with caroll next to him. Dzeko has been dropped and I see more goals in Aguero.
