Jon Walters is a slight doubt for Stoke’s trip to Norwich. Andros Townsend is ruled out for Tottenham. Reece Oxford is doubtful for West Ham, Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko is struggling to be fit for the trip to United, whilst Garry Monk will make a late decision on the fitness of Ki Sung-yeung.

Mark Hughes has revealed that Jon Walters is a slight concern for the weekend with illness, though the attacker has returned to training. Hughes also commented on Bojan’s availability, suggesting that the Spaniard could be “involved in some capacity” against the Canaries.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Andros Townsend will miss the Leicester trip after suffering a minor ankle problem, having previously been sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Slaven Bilic will be without Mauro Zarate at the weekend, with the forward suffering a hamstring injury in training. Zarate revealed on his official twitter page that he expects to miss the Hammers’ next two matches. Reece Oxford is a doubt after missing a few days training with a niggle, according to the club’s official website. Adrian serves the first of a three-match ban after being sent off against Leicester last week.

Newcastle are sweating on the availability of Moussa Sissoko ahead of the weekend trip to Old Trafford. The midfielder came off in the loss to Swansea last week with a groin complaint and hopes to recover in time to be involved against Man United. Elsewhere Siem de Jong has returned to training for the Magpies, while Paul Dummett also joined in with the group as he steps up his recovery.

Leicester welcome back Mark Schwarzer, with the experienced stopper having recovered from illness after missing out last weekend. Christian Fuchs took a knock in training, but it is believed to be nothing serious and Claudio Ranieri expects the defender to train today and be in contention for the weekend.

Marouane Chamakh remains sidelined for Palace despite stepping up his recovery from a hamstring problem with a midweek run out for the reserves. Bakary Sako is set to be included in the squad for the visit of Villa.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Everton have picked up no new injuries ahead of the visit of City. Kevin Mirallas is now 100% fit – the Belgian was fielded as a sub last time out after being forced off with an ankle injury in the season opener with Watford.

Bournemouth’s Harry Arter could return to training next week, though manager Eddie Howe conceded he could be “some way off” a first-team comeback.

Ki Sung-yeung has returned to training after stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury. Garry Monk has confirmed he will make a final decision on the Korean’s fitness after today’s training session.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

How many chips would you say have been played already? Several casuals surely gave one of the chips a go if they're not planning on sticking with the game for too long, gives me some optimism that it's the experienced managers saving them for DGWs later in the season!

Kun triple captain on a double gameweek could be 100 points in itself 😉

      1. Irish Madridista ⭐
        • 15 Years
        10 years, 5 months ago

True, but surely the amount of very casual players in the game is having some sort of an effect on early overall ranks if half of them have used extra chips?

        1. Syd.
          • 16 Years
          10 years, 5 months ago

I can't see many of them being played the ranks are down to the unpredictable results

            • 15 Years
            10 years, 5 months ago

I think there's a bit of both at play. lots of people fire in a team and leave it for months, I can imagine them using a chip in GW1, having a decent week due to their advantage, and then firing off a second chip. They're not exactly thinking about long term tactics like us, its all about the short term gain for casuals.

It's an interesting thought in way - a bit like playing your wildcard in week 1 which has been done to such success in the past.

If you obtained a great rank playing chips early then it's quite easy to protect and you would

It probably wouldn't have worked this year as the captain options haven't done brilliantly but as an all-in principle I quite like the idea.

I imagine a lot are going to burn their TC chip on Aguero v Watford next week, despite inevitable DGWs at the end of the season. Probably the impatient sort of people that have WC'ed after GW2. 😛

U are assuming there is a dgw for kun..but there might not be any. Kun triple captain against watford could do well

Kun was just an example, there will be a DGW for ONE of the big hitters at least.

It could do well, but I'd like my captain to have 6 games in a week rather than 3 😉

I'd rather triple captain Hazard, Sanchez or even someone like Kane on a DGW than Kun on any normal GW

Agreed - double appearance points, two shots at the baps, twice the amount of mins, clean sheet point if it's for someone like Sanchez - TC Kun on a single GW is madness IMO

But what if a DGW falls on a bad run of fixtures for Man city?

I think most of the casuals who have used their chips already won't have seen much benefit from them (i.e. triple captaining Rooney or benchboosting a bench full of non-starters), so it shouldn't be having a huge effect on the ranks

I just think he's going to go dry soon with people wondering why they ever thought of him in the first place. I've seen both of Swansea's opening fixtures and I don't think he's anything special. Thought he was in the right place at the right time for the goals, although in saying that he took the first one well. When Ki Sung-Yeung, Shelvey and Montero are all cheaper options I really can't understand why people are choosing Ayew. Personally, I will be picking Ki at 5.4 and hoping to make a profit with some nice returns points-wise also.

Tempted to say Benteke. Ever since Suarez left for Barcelona Liverpool have become goal shy. The first two games of this season suggest that trend is continuing. One possible move is to go Benteke > Gomis and then upgrade Ayew.

      1. Hanked

        10 years, 5 months ago

I agree, and their next 3 fixtures are poor. I really rate Benteke though, I feel like he only needs a chance or two a game to score and he has those games where he's unplayable.

Seem like a lot of people are saying lose Ayew.

YaYa > Payet. After CL starts Yaya won't be that much focused on PL games imo..

West Ham have no midweek games so .. Maybe then upgrade Targett 😉

I'd imagine Yaya will want nothing more than to win the Premier League this year and from City's first two performances it looks like he is the one who will lead them to do just that..

Why is Butland so common in very many WC team here?
Stoke lost Shawcross, Begovic, Nzonzi, their most 3 important players for def.
Fixtures? Even with 3 players above in the team, they only could keep 7 CS all season last year.

Van Gaal says #mufc's fitness situation remains the same: "Only Jones, who is still ill. But he's getting better and has done some running.
