It’s Jonty’s time to curry sympathy this week and he’s on the receiving end of a barrage of cyber-bullying from co-host Granville.

Determined to the belittle Jonty’s Wildcard performance following Callum Wilson’s hat-trick, Granville takes to Twitter before roasting him live on air on the ScoutCast. He seems to have totally missed the fact that I too sold on Wilson as part of my own Wildcard; I’m quite happy for Jonty to play Patsy on this one.

Jonty rolls with the virtual punches to join us as we look back on the Gameweek that saw all three of us refresh our squads. We score our Wildcards out of ten, before scanning the community for Gameweek tales in “Rough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, as we assess Pedro’s pedigree, the lure of Aleks Kolarov and the merits of a well-rounded squad in the light of the FPL chips.

This ScoutCast was first broadcast live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday. Be sure to subscribe to our channel for news of upcoming live Casts. You can view the broadcast in full via the larger player below but, if you prefer the edited audio version, you’ll need this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Was all set on Depay to Pedro but after seeing Coutinho live at The Emirates on Mon night I'm now not so sure. Anyone else finding it hard to decide between the two?

Check out his goalscoring stats and compare it to his chances created.
I'm a Pool supporter who thinks Coutinho is magic but his goalscoring needs improvement.

Mane, Payet, Lens, Mahrez, Chadli are better picks at the moment.

Does anyone here have the cajones to do the sideways crab move of Kompany to Kolarov for a -4???

    I think I will!

    Pros:
    Save some money
Attacking has much more upside rather than set piece headers

    Cons:
    The possible Clichy sharing

    Who's with me????

...But they can never take our FREEEEEDOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! RRRRRRAAAAAAaaaaahhhhh!!!!

It's just ... I still refuse to think that Gomis is actually good. And fixtures are quite bad. And ... 5.5 million and rising. Yum.

Fixtures suggest otherwise, and going Lukaku>Wilson frees up a heck of a budget.

But yeah, Lukaku has looked good this season, in every game too. I think it's asking a bit too much with those fixtures though. Your call! 🙂

He's definitely one of the best playmakers in the world, pretty versatile too.

The whole myth of him being an EPL flop is misguided. He was consider the MOTM against Hull City by many people, and had an assist in that game. After that Mourinho faded him out.

He's very very very good. In FPL terms we'll have to see. His stats for Wolfsburg are unlikely to be reproduced here as he will likely share the creative mantel with Silva (and Sterling & Yaya).

However, price depending, he could be a good pick.

If he wasn't doubtful you think he'd at least come on. I've just found this quote from Koeman:

"Sadio Mane wasn't 100% and it will be a long season. I didn't take that risk to put him in. We need him for more games."

Hopefully he'll be right for the weekend 🙂

If he played minutes I agree. But he didn't, and Koeman claimed he wasn't 100%. So he shouldn't be 100% in FPL 😛

The flag was probably removed before the quotes though. And if he's in the squad today, he'd also be in the squad on Sunday. Could easily be flagged again tomorrow if Koeman casts more doubt.

So i just sold Payet for Mahrez and my current midfield is Hazard, Mahrez, Depay, Redmond, Albrighton. Would you take a gamble and double up with Leicester and leave Redmond on the bench, or do the sane thing and bench Albrighton. Btw forwards are Benteke, Aguero and Gomis if it helps you with your answer.

Looking to replace Mertesacker, would ideally buy Sagna but already have 3 city, have no money in the bank so can't get Shaw/Darmian.

Liverpool fans, how has Clyne looked going forward, and how long do you think Gomez' run in the team will last?

For 5.5 I want decent attacking threat but the money from Gomez would give me much more flexibility in the coming weeks.

I'm on WC and I'm deffo going Clyne over Gomez.
Moreno could easily come back in. It would be unfair on Gomez but at the end of the day, he's a right footed CB playing at LB. Plus he's 18. Will come in and out of the team.
Could even be this GW, according to bib theory.
Moreno at home to WH makes sense, just my opinion of course.

I think he has done quite a few things wrong. Has been caught flat footed a few times due to not knowing what foot to use instinctively.
Has been good overall but I reckon he's a much riskier choice than most on here think.
Brodge could easily take him out and as soon as this weekend, imo.
I have no solid sources but I've seen quite a few people suggest it on other LFC sites.

I've panicked and played my WC (late on!)

    Hart (McCarthy)

Sagna - Gomez - Shaw - Bellerin (Targett)

Hazard - Sanchez - Mahrez (Westwood - Wanyama)

    Aguero - Benteke - Wilson

    £1m in bank. Thoughts please?

Is it good practice to bring in all the price risers each day when on WC to make lots of extra money. Then pick my team just before deadline. Or does the sell/buy difference stop this exploitation?

I've done it, you could do it with Wilson if you picked him up a couple of days ago.

The buy sell difference stops this as I tried it this week and get to gain 0.1 yet

Can I end up losing out? Don't want to take out Aguero for example to get the price rise on Defoe and then not be able to afford him again because he costs more to buy than how much I sold him for.

In theory this should work, but things move too slowly for it to work much in practice. As soon as you get +0.1 on someone you got in just for a rise, a player you really want starts to rise, and very few players rise twice in a GW. So concentrate on getting in the players you want (who should be on the way up in price).

  21. Honeyman07 42

Would you try to force Sanchez in or is it fine?

    McCarthy Butland
    Azpi Kolarov Bellerin Gomez Clark
    Silva Pedro Ozil Mahrez Redmond
    Aguero Gomis Wilson

On WC so amount of transfers doesn't matter just not sure if I want to butcher the team just to get Sanchez in

    1. CarsonYeung

How much ITB? Bellerín to Francis, Redmond to Westwood, changing two bench players saves 2m for an Alexis upgrade.

        • 11 Years
        10 years, 5 months ago

Bellerin to Francis is fair enough however Redmond to Westwood leaves me with a player I am probably not going to play, also I need 2.5mil to up Ozil to Sanchez so would be Azpi to Francis not Bellerin. Thanks for the advice but think I am to sentimental to Redmond as he is Norwich to kick him out

Fair enough, just think you'll end up leaving points on the bench and a ruing overspending in the backline.

            • 11 Years
            10 years, 5 months ago

Yeah I think I have over spent on back line but can't find 2.5 mil without killing the back line
Could do Azpi to Williams, Bellerin to Francis and Redmond to Hoolahan

That would work but would my defenseman suck?

In all honesty, yes, they would suck. You'll have to remove your Norwich mid to make it worthwhile imo.

Are there, though? There are other potentially valuable budget options at 5.5-6. 7 is a bit awkward. Lukaku and Benteke right above that. Kane as well.
