Last weekend saw a brace from Clint Dempsey grab the headlines in Fulham’s 2-0 win over Wigan as Mark Hughes’ side recovered from two straight league defeats to climb back into the top half of the table.

With a broken leg keeping Bobby Zamora sidelined for the next few months, Dempsey has been playing as an out-of-position forward for the Cottagers and the American has taken his chance to impress. In the six games Fulham have played since Zamora‘s Karl Henry-enforced injury, Dempsey has scored four goals and, taking Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus Points into the equation, has racked up a total of 41 points during this period, compared with just 6 points in the first four league games of the season. Averaging almost seven points per game up front, then, Dempsey is making a mockery of the fact his price has dropped £0.3m (from £7m to £6.7m) since the season began.

      i wouldn't for .6 more, could use that elsewhere. for defenders i just care about cleanies, they all they the odd couple of goals for the season, but samba is more prone to getting cards.

    Interesting analysis Sir Paulos - are you trying to put people of Dempsey? 😉 Dembele's supremancy in the key stats area still hasn't stopped Dempsey prospering so I'm not convinced that Demebele is a better attacking option than Dempsey (cue Dembele hat-trick).

      Dempsey is the focal point in Zamora's absence, so he's a better option than everyone else. But I'd stay away from Fulham attacking players in general. They don't score enough goals... Trust me, I was stuck with that mug Simon Davies for about 10 weeks!

    Would you transfer in Bent or Anelka, bearing in mind I badly need players for this G/W.

    I would normally say Bent because he is a bit cheaper and so consistent, and he also has an easy fixture this week. However I only have 2 Chelsea players (Cole and Malouda) and I don't want to miss out on Chelsea's kind run of fixtures.
