On the back of today’s draw at Stoke, reports suggest Wayne Rooney may be sidelined “for a few weeks“ according to quotes attributed to Sir Alex Ferguson.

“Rooney’s is not a serious injury, but it was enough to keep him out today, and I think maybe for a few weeks.”

While we await further confirmation on the prognosis, the news will come as a bitter blow to the 50.1% of Fantasy managers that currently own the Man United striker. Rooney has been subject to nearly 350K transfers-in over the last four Gameweeks as he racks up the points with ridiculous ease and has rocketed in price to 12.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

With Norwich rolling up to Old Trafford, Rooney would be a nailed-on cert for captaincy in the showdown with Paul Lambert’s side and with Javier Hernandez also limping out of today’s Britannia clash, the likes of Danny Welbeck, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen will be vying for starting positions as Fergie’s side looking to get back to winning ways.

If the news is confirmed, many may turn to the likes of Robin Van Persie- the Arsenal skipper finally began to offer Fantasy returns this afternoon with a brace against Bolton and the 3 bonus points surely set to follow. With just 5.4% of owners, the Dutchman would be a viable “differential” and has a favourable run of fixtures ahead. As does 11.3 Sergio Aguero, though the Man City forward is already owned by 39.7% of Fantasy managers in comparison.

We will follow up on this as soon as we hear any more; hopefully the next twenty-four hours will offer further clarification.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Just got carried away and did Murphy & Drogs in for Arteta and Sturridge.

Wanted to get in before any potential price changes.

But remember Defoe was ill and whilst Lennon is out surely VdV will be pushed wide?
Harry has been made a comment recently about 'Defoe returning to his best'
I <3 VdV and the avatar should prove well enough, but @ 9.7 it's a high price to pay for the winger. Wish I had gone with my hunch on Bale 😛

well I actually failed to articulate my opinion clearly and that is I fear VdV will be pushed wide in favour of Defoe partnering Adebayor up front.

Found an interesting article displaying that Harry didn't like playing 4-4-1-1 and that VdV and Harry's relations were quite sour. But then I saw it was on mirror football and had to pretty much disregard it, can't trust them haha

The fact that VDV is not playing in europe is comforting. Defoe can play all games in europe and Cup games, Lennon Krancjar wide in PL and VDV will play in hes favorite position.

            Just a thought

harry is a huge fan of big man little man duo up front.... also a fan of defoe....

what a luxury problem we have at the lane now.

fill 6 positions with adebayor, bale, defoe, lennon, modrich, parker, sandro and van der vaart.

and then theres also huddlestone, dos santos, pienaar, townsend etc in the

Beat the Nani price rise with Walcott out last night.
gonna have to keep a close eye on Aguero and Adebayor.
Aguero the best option under 11.4 or anyone think Drogba might be?
Happy with Mata, nice little assist and looked good again before he moved wider after Torres sending off!

Good posts chaps, keep'em coming 🙂
I think Drogba will be gold this weekend, Bolton have been shipping in the goals. Torres out and Sturridge just back from injury, surely Drogba will be the target man?
    Hmmm i'm thinking Nani also.

    Given Vorm

Nice looking team Jack Attack, i'm the same with no Rooney!

My likely team will be this once Arteta rises:

      Krul (Vorm)
      Bonsingwa Enrique Komapny (Simpson, Briggs)
      Taarabt Brunt Nani Silva (N.Dyer)
      RVP Adebayor Drogba(c)

Sounds like Suarez had good game.............

Suarez was again the side's stand-out performer, often tying opposing defenders in knots, and it was his intelligent movement and brilliant finish which brought the all-important second goal.

"Suarez has been outstanding since he came to the club," added Dalglish.

"We are very fortunate to have him and we look forward to many more happy days with him because he is a fantastic footballer."

It's going to be hard for most people to have the most expensive player in the game sat on the bench (the fantasy bench that is!)
The Norwich game is too tasty to not take advantage of imo

And with his tricky fixtures after that im really tempted to get aguero for a few weeks and his price rises and rooneys falls will mean i can re sign wayne at some stage
