As you may have seen from our latest tweet, Sir Alex Ferguson has been speaking ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League game with Basel.

In a report direct from the Man United website, Fergie has confirmed both Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez will both miss out in the home clash against the Swiss side, offering a chance for the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen in the starting XI tomorrow evening.

When asked for an update on Rooney’s hamstring injury, the United boss was fairly non-committal:

He’s not playing tomorrow. It can be difficult to assess a hamstring injury. Obviously we hope we have him back quickly. He did a bit of jogging this morning but that’s all. It’s difficult to say.

On Hernandez, there was more cause for optimism:

[Hernandez’s injury] is straightforward, it’s a dead leg he got on Saturday. He should be ready for next Saturday.

The quotes leave Fantasy managers still hedging their bets on Rooney’s availability for the Old Trafford showdown with Norwich on Saturday afternoon, then. Any further indication nearer the time will play a significant part in Fantasy transfers ahead of the weekend- given his recent barnstorming form, Rooney would undoubtedly be a nailed-on pick for captaincy but with an international break to follow, it’s impossible to second-guess the United boss right now.

With an away trip to Liverpool in Gameweek 7 followed by a derby with Man City the following weekend, Fergie will surely not take any risks with his star forward but right now, it’s clear he’s keeping his cards firmly to his chest.

Think I've got the perfect lineup for my wildcard team. Have some questions about my front line though.

    Vorm Krul
Jose Enrique, Bosingwa, Taylor R, Shawcross, and Taylor N
Silva, Mata, Nani, Van der Vaart, Dyer
    Suarez, Best, Drogba
    .3 in the bank.

Can do that front line, or I can do Suarez, Adebayor, Agbonlahor with .4 in the bank.

    Any thoughts?

CFC Tom or any other Chelsea supporters

What are your thoughts on Ramires this campaign? Getting forward a lot more - looks comfortbale out there - mind is keeping up with his feet. Based on the first GW's here - does he chip in more points over the season or will it be too sporadic to invest 7.0 in him?

    Much thanks.

      Option 1:
      Rooney> Suarez
      Taarbt>Nani
(Already have A Young in the side.)

      Option 2:
      Rooney>Drogba for Chelsea coverage
      Ward> Woodgate or P Jones.

I'm not sure. He should have scored against United, hit a sitter straight at De Gea. So he is getting himself into scoring positions. But I don't think there will be any comparison with Mata, so he looks the logical choice.

That said Ramires is 90 mins every week. So if you can't stretch to Mata to go with Nani and Silva, I don't think he's a bad choice, just don't expect him to be scoring every week.

    mertesacker simpson enrique hutton delaet
    taarabt silva brunt mata ferguson
    van persie dzeko suarez

Thinking van persie/suarez out for hernandez/aguero for this weekend? worth 4 point hit? (if hernandez is fit)
But van persie got great fixtures after this one.
or keeping van persie and just drop suares/enrique for aguero/taylor(swansea)
What do you think guys? Thanks!!

Maybe you could take a one week punt on a UTD player?
