The time comes when every Fantasy Football manager has to react quickly to douse some fires in their squad. The problem is, my team is currently a blazing inferno, without a disco in sight.

At least that’s Granville’s opinion. Buoyed from seeing his canny capture of Anthony Martial deliver a brace at St Mary’s, my cocky co-host is quick to dish out a whipping to my ailing lineup.

We discuss the merits of United’s new teenage sensation as part of another round of community questions, served up once again by Jonty. The three of us also ponder the Chelsea revival, David Silva’s fragile ankles and just how our Fantasy Football managerial styles translate to the dog world: a crunch question that’s been brewing unanswered for many episodes.

    I want Martial and I want to captain him (to hopefully make up the points of a hit). And want to get rid of Gomis to get him. But Im poor. Options:

    A) Silva --> Payet
    B) Pedro --> Payet
    C) Alexis --> Payet
    D) Silva --> Yaya
    E) Sinclair --> Fletcher/Wanyama
    F) Other (but must still include getting Martial as I want him please)

          Aye, I've got Sanchez, I expect him to score well, but not because of Arsenal 'cover', but because he is Sanchez.

    Just doing some fpl stalking, Billy Gilmore had 2 FTs last week and all he did was Bentaleb -> Westood and rolled the other FT. That's incredibly happy place to be in, especially as he still has the WC in tact too!

            this is correct. Bare in mind 2/3 week loans need to be seen out or cancelled before you can begin another loan.

      Loans are great when thought out properly and especially with this year's friendlier pricing.

      One week transfers are great for getting in a captaincy option for a specific matchday, i.e. if your Saturday or Sunday options are poor or you have no Monday option.

      2/3 week loans are best for players for teams with a string of good MD2/MD3 games.

      Last year I spent 40 points on a 4 week loan for 4 Soton players going MD3, MD2, MD2, MD3. Paid itself off for about +5/10 points.

        Loans are much better this season. They were punitive last season while they are now at much more reasonable levels to use regularly.

    Which one is more logical?

    a) FPL logic part I:
    Man united forward in form, homegame against Sunderland.
    He won't score every game, but surely he will score at least once in this one - good potential for
    doubledigit score too.
    Martial tops captain poll too. Captain him, Aguero vc.

    b) FPL logic part II:
    City score more goals than united, Aguero on penalties and good history against Spurs. Not the best form and Spurs haven't conceded lot this season, but always capable for double digit score.
    Owned by over 30 % of managers.
    Captain him, it's good enough to get possible Martial's big haul anyway.

    Factors to consider:
    - taking out one of deeney/wilson means i kill my 352 for a 433 strategy whereas till now i was rotating wilson/chadli/deeney. also i will have to start either deeney/wilson every week
    - not sure about removing sterling but advisable to have 3 city players?
    - ruddy dropping in price so need to take him out at some point
    - another option is saving the FT and drafting in martial on sat (without a hit) if he does well against sland
