Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So, who is the best single GK from GW9?
Ignoring Myhill now with Lindegaard lurking and also got Evans.

    Llloris?

      GKs are often deceiving.

      Butland 0 CS, 1 assist = 25 pts (Price: 4.5)
      Lloris 3 CS = 29 pts (Price: 5.0)

I'm not saying Butland is a better option at all, just saying GKs usually deceive us. Only 4pts difference but 0.5 difference in price.

Lloris has played a game less and Butland has that lucky assist.

Doesn't matter how the points come. Lloris has also got some lucky CSs.

My point is GKs usually aren't a solid bet for points.

Chelsea have nice fixtures so if Jose can sort out the defence I'd say Begovic.

Howard or Lloris. Even tempted by Cech though he is a little too expensive.

Having read a few quotes from Pulis I don't think Lindegaard will replace Myhill at least until Myhill's next error. This is before the Everton game and after the midweek 3-0 loss to Norwich.

"I don't think Boaz has done anything wrong," he said. "But it was Anders' first game for ages so I was pleased."

Very unlikely Pulis puts someone who has just played for the first time in ages straight into the first team.

Howard good option but I prefer their defenders (Stone, Jag, Coleman for attacking threats)

Howard gets good bonus. Could make up for the attacking returns from their defenders.

Thoughts greatly appreicated - have been having lots of trouble moving up in rank largely due to 6 out 7 captaincy fails and -8 last week (Benteke, Ward, Silva > Sakho, Prodl, KDB)...needed to take a hit but shouldn't have taken a -8.

Here is my team moving forward into GW8. Already made the move from Wilson to Vardy.
    2.0 ITB & 0 FTs.

How essential is Payet, considering his next fixture is Sunderland?

I guess Pedro --> Payet for -4 would be foolish?

Pedro's fixtures are a lot better in the long term, so unless you've got a plan for how you are going to use the extra cash, I'd wait it out. And I definitely wouldn't take a hit.

I'd like to see them show a little more solidity in the back. But that's a nice run of fixtures they've got. Still, it's hard to justify the extra 0.7 for him over Stones.

Alright, I've been debating the whole 3-4-3 move or stick with 3-5-2.

    Here is the lineup:

    Schmei/Fab
    Kolarov/Darmian/Dawson/Richards/Gomez
    Ayew/Mahrez/Sanchez/Yaya/Payet
    Ighalo/Aguero/Gomis

2FT and 0.1ITB.... If Toure is out then it might have to be Ayew/YYT to Sako/DeBruyne playing either 3-4-3 with Ighalo up top or a 3-5-2 and Sako as the 5th mid. Neither seem great long term. Would love to get in Lukaku so maybe bring him in for Gomis and then switch out Ayew for another mid.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Jafalad
      • 16 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

If I was playing 3-5-2 I'd want Walcott in there provided he is starting.

Hmmm. There isn't a really easy fix. I'd stay away from Sako. He is at serious rotation risk with Zaha, especially when Wickham gets healthy.

You could possibly downgrade Ayew to Hoolahan, which would give you enough cash for Ighalo to Vardy and Gomis to Pelle (I think you'd be just short of Lukaku money). That gets you back to playing 3-4-3.

I'd treat Sinclair like a 5th mid every week.. only get tempted to play him when you have short term injuries/he comes on for a surprise benching. I know he scored those 2 goals at the start of the season but he's not looked like he'll do that again for the foreseeable while i would not be surprised a Mane/Pelle brace in any given GW

    4. Shifty
      • 12 Years

Mane for me. Pelle will be tough to handle in the air judging by how rubbish the Chelsea defenders have been at set pieces.

      Bench Sinclair, no brainer

    6. fedolefan
      • 11 Years

I'd bench Sinclair too but if you are insistent on one out of Mane/Pelle then I'll always bench Pelle. Mane is way more explosive and is at the heart of everything. Pelle though returning points, does the simple things well, opportunities which may not be present too much against Chelsea.

Thanks all. It's a tricky one. Mane was very good at the bridge last year and bagged an assist, but Sinclair is on pens and at home to a leaky Stoke defence. And then there is Pelle who offers the biggest goal threat and nailed on for 90 mins of them all, but from memory he struggles against the big sides (is that right?).

      Ozil > Sanchez
      Clyne > Dawson

And long term need another big hitter in the midfield ... Pedro, Mata, de Bruyne, Silva, etc.

They look fine for now ... possibly look at Gomis > Vardy ... but thats not a priority for now and Gomis has some good fixtures coming up and might get back on the score-sheet!

The Dugout FC draft league is pretty good too, I've enjoyed everyone having a different squad, makes it interesting!

Dugout FC was a huge mess, IMO.

Fantrax is the best draft fantasy site in the business for any of the biggest sport leagues (EPL, NHL, NFL, MLB, etc.). Highly customizable settings and a reliable site overall.

So-so gameweek, didn't make up that much ground but slowly chugging along - 5 green arrows in a row from 2.5m to 380k.

Thoughts on these options below? Team is:

    Begovic
    Skrtel Kolarov Naughton
    Sanchez Yaya* Coutinho Ayew* Mahrez
    Aguero Vardy

Dawson; Coloccini; Fodder (0.7m banked, 1FT)

    A) Yaya > Payet - might be a good time to ungear myself from City even if he's fit
    B) Ayew > Payet - though Ayew does have 2 good home fixtures coming up
    C) Yaya > Mata - love Mata as an FPL player, but fixtures not great
    D) Skrtel > Prodl/Nyom - because feck Liverpool
    E) Save

I'd definitely keep Yaya if he's fit, no one has better than NEW BOU in the next two! Also Ayew has 4 home games in the next six, TOT STO ARS BOU with nor and avl thrown in...pretty decent if you ask me. I love the idea of getting Mata, fixtures regardless. I'm not helping am I...ok if you push me it would be C

Tempted to kneejerk either to Payet...Sunderland are utter rubbish. Payet's ownership in the game and my ML is getting scary too.

Tks, double CHE is my dilemma. Leaving it this week cause any move would be for a hit. Then have the choice of Villa at home or remove Pedro for KDB/Silva for Bournemouth at home. I can't bank on Chelsea getting some form for much longer, losing touch with the KDBs and Sanchez people

Has to be. People talk about an explosion coming, using the example of Sanchez and his good stats. But Aguero doesn't have good underlying stats. Although I do not have anywhere close to the kahunas to get rid now, I will if he blanks again and looks poor.

Fingers crossed. Leader of one of my minileagues captained Lukaku. Away to West Brom. LUKAKU FFS!!

I have 2FT but I am now considering Gomez, Ayew, Gomis > Alderweirald, Sako, Lukaku for -4. Probably too soon for such a hit with Everton still with some "tough" fixtures but form over fixtures tells me to think on it...

A couple of GWs ago, someone asked who has been the most disappointing FPL player this season? The unanimous answer was Ivanovic.

Then, my answer was 'Aguero, without a doubt'.

Aguero has been by the far the most destructive and disappointing FPL asset so far. Wildcards and transfers spent on getting him in, wasted captaincies on him when most other captain options have outscored him, reluctance to sell just because of last season's heroics...

Yet he will still be the overwhelming captain favourite this weekend for many here - me included.

The most recent example of such a high profile 'flop' (prob too early to call him a flop) was RVP - but he was nowhere close to being as popular as Aguero during the Moyes season. Any other examples come to mind? Curious to see how the veterans dealt with that in the past.

No easy answer. Biggest problem has been City's kind fixtures in which you would expect even an out of form Aguero to grab a goal. Clearest proof to date that form trumps everything. And he has looked quite woeful in most games I have watched. Confidence is shot.

I will keep, I will captain. If he draws a blank and looks poor at the same time, I will sell. If he blanks and looks good, I will keep.

Hazard did almost nothing in the first 6 or 7 games last season but there was an easy substitute in Fabregas, plus he didn't look as out of sorts as Kun does this year. I am sure he still has it (unlike Torres), it's just a case of waiting. In retrospect we should have all sold him after the Watford game, and brought him back in after he'd scored a brace and looked good in the process. But now we're stuck in this revolving door and it's difficult to get out!

that revolving door analogy is great. It's some sort of FPL paralysis when it comes to Aguero.
