In our first members article of the week, we assess the displays of West Ham, Leicester and Villa’s forwards as the search for a Callum Wilson replacement intensifies. We cast an eye over Southampton, Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal’s midfields and also analyse the impact of Brendan Rodgers’ decision to switch to a 3-4-1-2 formation in the last two Gameweeks.

    what to do with Pedro?

    A. keep him and play him (SOT)
    B. play Hoolahan (LEI) instead of him
    C. transfer him out for -4, to Payet most likely
    D. play AOA with both Pedro (SOT) and Hoolahan (LEI) - means benching Richards (STK)

Think I've finally settled on my team.

    AOA Chip
    Myhill (Hennessey)
    2 of Gabriel/Evans/Nyom/Davies/Souare
Sanchez De Bruyne Walcott Payet Mahrez
    Aguero Vardy Gestede

If Foster comes back into the WBA team I can easily get him, Alexis and Walcott look like a great combination.

Depending on price changes I might be able to do De Bruyne/Gestede > Sterling/Gomis and Gomis has 2 weeks of MNF.

    Thoughts?

  9. Shifty
    • 12 Years

    Wenger on Koscielny…

It is a hamstring. This is why I rotate as we play many games. The other teams do it as well. You look at the other teams in Europe’s benches and you will see them rotate. You cannot play every three days without rotating your players That is a fact and you have to accept that.

The bit on rotation is interesting. Walcott prime for rotation in a game against an organized defence where Giroud's physicality could be more useful?

    1. Joggers Nipple
      • 16 Years

    2. NOMONEY
      • 10 Years

interesting, not his usual style to rotate players. but understandable given that he has so many mids to choose from and with his preferred 4-5-1 formation he can only play one of giroud and walcott

    Sanchez(MUN) / Mahrez(nor) / Payet(sun) / Hoolahan(LEI) / YYT(NEW)

JK advised me that some people on here have advocated the captaining of Mané, owing to Ivanovic's lack of form. Nice theory but poorly conceived. Tadic for the most part has reverted to LM/LW this season, much to every saints fan's delight as he looks much more comfortable. Occasionally, JRod has played out there instead. Of course there is a fair bit of fluidity in the front three and Mané will occasionally float left but tends to cross from the right and otherwise spends most of the time behind Pelle (or even level with him).

So Mané vs Ivanovic is unlikely.

Should I duck the striker lull and go 3-5-2?
If I did this it would be Aguero and Vardy, with probably Ighalo on the bench, and KDB in mid

or stick with the standard 3-4-3?
this would include Pelle up front and Westwood on the bench in mid
