→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

Juan Mata’s assist gave us the merest whiff of a win in Gameweek 6, but with the Spaniard failing to add to his goal tally in the 4-1 win over Swansea, we took the loss on the chin and moved on.

We fancy our chances of bettering Paddy Power this time around though – with nailed-on Fantasy forces Nani and Sergio Aguero in the mix, along with some leftfield options from Scott Sinclair and John Arne Riise, plus a tempting little accumulator on the big scoring strikers. Paddy has set up some individual markets around this week’s top Fantasy picks, let’s see what kind of hand they’ve dealt us.

Nani is just irresistible right now and, even though Wayne Rooney will likely be on the pitch while the Norwich rabbit wanders into the Old Traffford headlights, we still fancy the Portuguese trickster to take centre stage. Understandably, his regular goal odds are short but, Paddy are happy to tempt us with some longer odds for some Fantasy combos – you can get 5/1 on Nani earning a goal and an assist, with the same price available for a goal from outside the box. While they’re very decent offers, we’ll take the shorter odds of 4/1 on a Nani goal and United clean sheet double act – we’ll gladly stake £3 of our tenner on that one.

While Rooney has been attending early fittings of the golden boot – Sergio Aguero also fancies trying it on for size. The Argentinian is just a single goal behind the United man in the race for leading scorer and, with a trip to Ewood Park beckoning, he’s got to fancy his chances. Again the odds on Ageuro being on the scoresheet are understandably short, but Paddy has cooked up some alternatives to your straight first or anytime goal bets. You can get 9/2 on two or more Aguero goals, but we prefer the 6/1 odds on a goal in each half – throwing a couple of quid Paddy’s way on that.

Scott Sinclair brought us our first Flutter win of the season a few Gameweeks back so he’s a player we hold close to our hearts around these parts. With Stoke at the Liberty Stadium this weekend, we’ve revisited our favourite Chelsea reject to get prices on further goal exploits. While Paddy is offering 21/10 on an anytime goal, with 11/2 to score a free-kick of penalty, we particularly like the odds of 9/1 on a Sinclair assist coupled with a Swansea clean sheet. A bit of a punt, but we have faith in Sinclair as our lucky charm.

Fulham’s John Arne Riise is our final single player market and, while he’s let us down in the Flutter before now, we’re willing to give him another chance to bring in some profit as Fulham face QPR at the Cottage. Again, we could go for the shorter odds here with Paddy pushing 12/5 on a Fulham clean sheet and Riise to avoid a booking. There’s also 7/2 on a Riise assist, but we’re going to go with the healthy odds of 14/1 on Riise to score from outside the box. He who dares.

To round things up and to soak up our final couple of quid, we’ve got our usual accumulator bet. This gameweek we’re putting our eggs firmly in the basket marked “Heavy Hitters” – backing one or more goals for Aguero, Luis Suarez and Robin Van Persie. Paddy have priced this market at 14/1 – worth a shout with all three strikers carrying form into their respective matches.

Derby hero Money Back Special!

Paddy have focused on this weekend’s derby matches for not just one, but three, money back specials.

In the Everton vs Liverpool clash at Goodison, if Luis Suarez OR Marouane Fellaini score the last goal, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Similarly, in the West London derby at the Cottage, should DJ Campbell or Bobby Zamora score the last goal, Paddy will give you your money back on all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Finally, at White Hart Lane, if Emmanuel Adebayor scores, Paddy Power will again refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match. That’s got to be worth a sniff.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Am I right in thinking that the only reason Rooney isn't winning the captain poll is because he had been an injury doubt all week?
So if i have rooney nani and aguero I should captain rooney?

Hey Gareth, yeah you're right. But you still can't discount his injury, because it may well preclude him from playing 60 minutes if Manu's ahead at HT.

        I might captain nani then.
Plus got a bit to catch so assuming everyone else will go for Rooney in my league.

Morning! Should i do RVP to Aguero? It would be a free hit but can’t make up my mind. RVP has some tasty fixtures coming up but everyone in my league has Aguero and i don’t want to fall behind.

Also i think we shold come up with a nickname for Taarabt cos it's a bit of a Taarabt to spell.

    Maybe something like Tarby!

Its close I would stick with RVP and save the transfer. If you are top then maybe get Aguero to cover but if you aren't then maybe stick for the differential.

Anyone checked out their head-to-head opponents this GW? I looked mine up, they joined last GW, was ranked 2.3 million out of 2.5 million that GW, has the three cheapest Newcastle defenders, Shane Long, and Kevin Doyle. I won't get complacent though...

Its hard to predict who will get the most points out of Nani, Aguero and Rooney, so lets look at another factor. Midweek gametime and chance of rest/early sub.

    - AGUERO played 90 mins against Bayern Wednesday leaving himthe most fatigued.
    - NANI came on and played 21 mins Tuesday. Obviously resting him for the Norwich game.
    - Rooney has been injured and might come off early / be benched as a result.

Instead of guessing who gets the most point, I am choosing my captain based on likeliness of playing 90 mins.

Nani gets the nod, and Augero the VC

If rooney's fully healed and it sounds like he is then he's the most likely to play 90. he's fully rested and generally doesnt get subbed unless he's injured. Nani looks set for 90 too though. Aguero should be the most fatigued
