Forget two fat ladies, in ScoutCast Bingo it’s all about three men with paunches chatting Fantasy Football fortunes, rattling out a few familiar clichés along the way.

Thanks to Numb’s witty community contribution, this week’s episode finds us gripping our dabbers in preparation for mispronunciations, dropped connections and a regular helping of “blimeys”.

Around those fun and games, we tackle the serious matters – assessing the merits of Sergio Aguero, Callum Wilson’s replacements and my range of Christmas jumpers.

All those hard-hitting issues are addressed via another round of community questions, following on from our review of Gameweek 7 as Granville fights the urge to gloat having opened up a 40 point lead over yours truly.

      I run a 60-team league (3 divisions of 20, promotion/relegation between divisions)

      I start draft 2nd international break (Sunday). Currently full up, but if you're interested, e-mail me at tjse7@hotmail.com and I'll wait list you. We always lose a few during draft or in first few months (I fire inactive managers and replace them... had a chap take over a 20th place team in January last season and rally to 11th... keeps it lively).

        Yeah that's max money spent. Didn't put much thought into Whelan as I don't plan on ever playing him but will look at other cheap options. DDG downgrade is a good idea looking at fixtures although a bit of a shame because I got him on the cheap.

        Exactly, I too was a bit confused when I saw it.

        Essentially, he broke two bones in his arm against Villa, got it casted up and everything and the cast was a certain material such that the referees deemed it safe to play with against Arsenal. He'll probably still be wearing it in the next few and assuming one ref has deemed it safe I'm sure the others will.

        Nothing to see here.

      Already sold to Vardy, haven't jumped on too many bandwagons this season (avoided Wilson, Gomis earlier, Ayew) but I feel if I don't jump on Vardy I'll regret it, the man is bursting with confidence and is in the form of his life.

    What represents the best value or strategy for a 5th midfielder, a regular 4.5 priced player (like Westwood, Wanyama) who you'll using very rarely or a 5 - 5.5m mid, whom you'll play more often, especially if you've chosen him such that he rotates with your 3rd striker fixture wise.

    This is of course one of the burning questions for many managers. So would welcome some opinions on this, like how do it usually or has your tactics changed this season due to the emergence of Mahrez (It has changed mine, so).

    Anyways, the way I see it, a nice 5th midfielder priced between 5 - 5.5m is an asset to any team.

    Truth is at the start of season, Mahrez was that 5th midfielder for me, but since he has turned out to be more of a premium mid, the landscape have changed for this season and will remain so, unless he gets injured.

    So it's actually the 4th mid spot (at season start) where you typically spend 5.5 - 6.5m, is the real 5th mid this season. So, you can either choose to spend 5-6m (ex. Redmond) on him (making him effectively a 4.5th mid) and in that case would advice to choose your 3rd cheap striker in such a way that he rotates with your 4.5th mid well fixture wise, or you can simply opt to spend 4.5 proper (Westwood, Wanyama) to make him an actual 5th mid, whom you'll use only when you have injuries but want to save FTs (or avoid hits) that week, but not expecting anymore than a maximum of 3 points.

    Now which one you choose is completely up to you, as I do believe that both tactics has their pros and cons. I personally prefer the former, but due to Mahrez being there and the likes Hazard and Mane being as pricey as they are compared to last season, I'm prefering the later till now. Though I'll have a rethink when I play my wildcard in a few weeks time and if neccessary will adapt for sure.

        I actually wrote this as a reply to a similar discussion somewhere else, then I redid it to ask for opinions from people on FFS, and the later part was not very perfect. So you can blame me for that sure.

      5th mid... I'd go 4.5 first 2/3 of season... watch for any 4.5/5 that gets hot and will add team value... otherwise ignore.

      You always need the extra funds elsewhere, better to have the flexibility and lack of benching headache. Later in season when depth is more important (with DGWs and teams missing games some weeks) and team value higher, is the time to get a more pricey (mid 5s) 5th mid.

    I remember last season and I can strike similarities between Sanchez and Pedro. Both started their seasons with a bang and then their form dried up but we all know what happened in the end.......Could the same happen with Pedro?

      Nope, he won't produce anything close to what Alexis did. Alexis was tearing it up for months, Pedro had only two good games maybe. He's not even getting into good goalscoring positions.

          Well true but even then he skied it and Chelsea were pushing forward very aggressively. Sánchez produces goals out of nothing.

      Ighalo is the safer pick but Gestede has a higher potential return. I was close to getting Sterling and Gestede this week but opted for Wanyama and Sturridge in the end. My pick would be Rudy.
