    I was keeping up on the scores at work today on this site via my mobile and it was all shite for Aguero. I went out for a McD drive through lunch with car radio on and just as I pulled up to the order point the commentator shouted "Goal at the Etihad"! At the same time the speaker at McD's shouted out wanting to know my order. By the time I collected the food I still had no idea who had scored City's first. I decided to switch off the radio and wait until I as back at work to check it out and by the time I got back he had scored four! Just caught his fifth 🙂

        He was very poor against Arsenal. He has always been very hot and cold for us since he joined. He can win a game or constantly lose the ball, this has been his best run by far. He has always had the talent but shown it very inconsistently. He is very confident and has always been quite greedy with the ball, I'm guessing he was dropped to send him a message about his all round teamwork. He will be back.

          FWIT, I have both and I would much rather have Mahrez than Bolasie. I just don't have a lot of trust in Bolasie. Mahrez has been consistent.

          Apparently, Mahrez benching was "tactical" today. I am definitely going to give it some time before I would consider transferring him out.

          Plus, I would lose a boatload of team value. It would be expensive to ship him out and very difficult to ever buy Mahrez back.

          IMO - I think sticking with Mahrez for awhile is a good plan.

          Do you have any other more pressing needs?

            Just a bit strange they bench their best player (so far this season) for a 'tactical reason', I'm doing well lately but I've got a 0 in my starting line up for the last 4 weeks, would like to finish a gameweek with my starting XI once 😀

              I've been playing this for 5 years now. Have finished in the top 16k each year; with two years in the top 10k. This season has been rough. The only thing I have learned is to try and be patient. I have a hair trigger and take hits all the time. Even with my hair trigger, I am not inclined to let him go just yet.

              Apparently, Leiscester's plan is to stay on the attack to win matches. Mahrez is is a proven commodity for them. I just don't see him being benched that often.

              If I get some indication that he has had a falling out, then I will consider it. Until then, I'm gonna stick.

              How much did you buy him for? How much are you going to lose if you sell him?

                        I think you can stick for a bit on your defense. Clean sheets are rare these days. Butland and Myhill rotate well. ManU will have better fixtures in two GW's. Kolorov should be great for a few GWs at least (wish I had him).

                        Maybe wait to see how the break goes and reassess later to see if you have any more pressing needs.

                        FWIT -- you defense is much better than mine right now. I have been banking on the lack of clean sheets to keep me going and haven't worried too much about defense. Citeh and WBA seem to have CS potential and you have that covered.

                  On your "transfers" page there is a tab marked "data" view. Look at that rather than "pitch" view. You can see what you bought him for and what you can sell him for. That will show you how much you gained on him and what you will lose. The thing to watch is if yoou ever want to buy him back. If you sell him at 6.0, you would still have to pay full current price when you buy him back.

                      OK. Same here. That is a big factor in my thinking. Sure I gain .4 selling him, but if I want him back I have to pay 6.5. That starts to put him into another price category of midfielder. I think of it this way: I paid 5.6 for him and -- for that price -- he appears to be a great value going forward, even with the occasional benching.

                      I have my eye on Barkley when their fixtures improve. I would much rather spend in the 6.6-6.9 range for a player like Barkley -- with good fixtures -- than Mahrez.

                      Also, Mahrez is owned by 54% of teams. Owning him protects you. If Mahrez drops in form, you don't really get hurt because everyone has him and plays him.

                        A lot of players are simply saying make sure you have Aguero and KDB over thre next few GW's and don't worry about the rest. Maybe too simple, but could be good advice. 🙂

                      Also, it's early in the season. 30 GW's to go. Bolasie is a bit of a "differential". Just try to work your way up the ranks with good (C) choices. Later in the season you can start looking at "differentials" to move up the ranks.

                      I have been in the top 10k in the final parts of the season and it is hard to move up because all of the teams are the same, the points margin are ridiculously thin and it really comes down to (C) choices. A good diffrential at that juncture can make a big difference.

                        Indeed, most of the time I'm not really lucky with my captain choices (except for Aguero today) but the rest of my team keeps the score up.
                        I'm 5k now I think, will drop a bit because I only have Sanchez and Williams left but still a good ranking considering my very poor start, best of luck to you this year Zilla!

                        FWIT -- I really consider the rankings poll to make my captain choices. When there is a clear runaway captain for the GW, it typically pays off -- for me anyway -- to see what the FFS are thinking. Sure there blanks, but the "group" usually gets it right when there is a clear captain's choice in the poll.
