Sergio Aguero’s Fantasy owners were left sweating this afternoon after a groin injury forced the Argentine out of the Ewood Park thrashing of Blackburn Rovers.

City’s number one forward has, of course, been in sensational form in his debut season, with eight goals seeing him backed by 43.6% of Fantasy managers so far.

Speaking after the 4-0 victory, City coach David Platt had this to say:

“It’s too early at the moment. It’s a groin injury and the early indications are that it is not as bad as we first thought.

“Having said that, if we had a game in the week or next week, he wouldn’t play. With the international break, who knows? It depends how quickly he heals up. It’s probably touch and go for Aston Villa, but we will look at it in the next 48 hours.

“I would think at least two weeks, but I’m no medic.”

With Aguero currently sitting at 11.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), his owners will be desperate for a quick prognosis from the club. Positive news would surely prevent a drop in price, as many Fantasy managers get twitchy with transfers and possibly wildcards over the extended break.

Aguero’s absence, however, would certainly pave the way for Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli to pair up against Villa in the Etihad Stadium showdown- priced at 8.6 and 8.5 respectively, the duo would fancy their chances of ending Villa’s unbeaten start to the season- Roberto Mancini’s side have averaged over three goals per game so far and would expect to see off Villa in a similar vein.

With a trip to Old Trafford following on in gameweek nine, Mancini will surely take no chances with his star forward’s fitness, though, particularly with the Carlos Tevez saga reducing his up front options – confirmation one way or the other will be key to plenty Fantasy plans, then…

Looks like i'm heading for 5 wins out of 5 in the FFS Reserve league.
I know i won't get a response to this other than "FK OFF", but I'm delighted. Surely the hardest H2H league ever ever ever ever?

Dont be so pesimistic of your fellow FF'ers

As soon as I read your post I immediately stood up from the computer to salute you and then give you a one minute applause

Then I phoned all my friends to get them out of their bed to tell them off your achievement

They, however, told me to tell you to "FK OFF"

I wouldnt be so loved up on RvP yet. Apart from one goal against Man U, he's only had two goals at home agaisnt the team bottom of the league with one of the dodgiest defences

If he scores well tomorrow then temptation will be justified

No way. Fabregas proved himself over several years in the Premier League, he's a way more complete and direct player. There's a reason why Brcelona wanted to buy him a year ago, rather than Silva.

25 goals, in five and a half seasons, as a striker

If you planted a street light in the 18 yard box and aimed crosses at it for the same amount of time you'd probably end up with the same amount of success through flukey deflections

All the man c striker bandwagons , and it could be Barlotelli that is the real deal.

Dzeko was just an average player in unreaal great form
Will Aguero just couldnt miss , but his spanish stats suggest
    he not that prolific.

The man shot a news photgrapher in the head with an airgun for ffs!

"Sorry Roberto, I cannot play in the champions league this week"

          "Why?"

"Because Diego says if I do not fly home to Buenos Aries and paint the dining room he will break my legs with a crow bar"

I did a little at the start, I think it was that the new site was poor to be fair. Been getting into it more now though now features are getting added all the time.

I always find it a little boring up until Christmas anyway, you get too many random teams that fluke it, around December time mini leagues start to take shape more.

Jeeesus, it seems like every time I buy a striker he gets injured, dropped or suspended (or goes to dubai)

I've had zamora, fletcher, dzeko, gyan, rooney, klasnic, and now aguero.

Depending on the Aguero situation, I will go SWP > Bannan and Aguero > Rooney if he is out, if not I will just save the tranny and do it the week later.

BTW does anyone else think de gea being dropped is odd? He has made a couple of errors but he can't be doing that badly since he's made more saves than any other keeper in the prem (before this weekend) including some great saves - that means a LOT of shots on target against united... says more about the defenders than keeper

Another "so-so" gameweek, after losing 8 points to get Nani and Aguero in they returned a total of 5 points with Aguero as captain 🙁
Relying on Drogba, Adebayor, Taarabt and Bosingwa now.
    Thinking Aguero->RVP
    Drogba->Suarez now
just can't pick the right players and end up going around in circles every week lol

For <= £10m I think VdV could be a great shout - brilliant fixtures coming up for a couple of months

If you're set on the teams you mentioned then it has to be Adam, Arteta, Mata?

Yeah I've got my eyes on vdv too. I make the mistake of watching him play and then deciding i don't want him because he looks off the pace.

Problem is he's always off the pace and prolific at the same time!

Hey kids, I'm new to this. Is my reasoning sound for the following:

(wildcard used, .1 in the bank, sitting w 2 transfers)
    Vorm, Krul
Bosingwa, Enrique, Shawcross, Ryan Taylor, Kompany
Nani, Silva, Arteta, Tiote, Martin Petrov
    Rooney, Agbonlahor, Adebayor

    If I can get a .1 rise/drop, I'm considering this transfer scheme:
Arteta for Ramsey and Agbonlahor for Morison
then the following week Petrov for Van der Vaart

    with my reasoning being:
I'll still have Aresenal coverage (and Ramsey's playing well)
Agbonlahor is playing well but what if Heskey shapes up and steals some minutes from him
And plus that way I have VdV (I'm a Spurs fan and the guy is tits)
and I really liked the way Morison played today (and am totally rooting for Norwich), plus with 4 solid mids and 2 solid strikers, is he really going to peek into my starting lineup much?

So basically, it seems to come down to would I get more points with VdV or Agboner? I say VdV.

Am I just overthinking this? I keep tinkering with the team every week, and maybe that's bad too.

(my other theory is Arteta & Tiote/Petrov for Ramsey & Danny Murphy, then swap a keeper later because week 12 is boned for anyone with Vorm & Krul)

    thanks.

the main thing that jumps out to me is selling petrov. I won't be selling him unless he gets injured. When he's playing 90 mins a game he's one of the best bargains in the game imo.

        Contemplating buying him actually.
Will probably be 4.8 come GW8 and has very good fixtures whereas SWP has some shockers coming up. Free's up cash for defence and attack, plus he's bound to deliver shortly...right? 😯

Dunno about delivering shortly but I suppose the idea with a budget buy is simply to save money, and come on during the odd weeks when injury or rotation just doesn't go your way. Any points more than 2 are simply a pleasant surprise.

If I don't have him, I'd buy him. Only other options I see are Dyer BJohnson Tiote, unless you somehow have the money to do without a budget mid entirely. o.O

Yup 18mins now. I'm pretty sure I need to rebuild my side ASAP, but I want a WC week when there's massive price changes happening so I can profit trading every day. Not sure this is going to be the one. I'd like to catch the risers tonight and wait and see about tomorrow's games before doing more transfers, but then I'll have to commit to a wildcard to avoid crazy hits...

              Yep.

I got rid of players that were on the falls status. Didn't bring in Tiote, as he's not going to rise 0.2 Got in Larsson, Bannan and S. Taylor so far

Sessegnon and Moses went out too

Mmmm all sounds pretty sensible. On the 0.2 criterion, I ruled out Tiote as well, and I wasn't sure whether STaylor could make it as he's risen a lot already and Newcastle didn't CS this week (though they were close). Larsson and Bannan might make it. The less said about Sess and Moses the better.

As you can obviously tell I've chosen not to bite tonight but may bite tomorrow based on how explosive the games go. Particularly the massive London derby. Trading the WC this break could be pretty mental, if I play my WC tomorrow I'll be keeping tabs on how you choose to play it 😀

Haha cheers. Yeah, i don't know about him rising twice now that you mention it, as he didn't keep a CS yesterday. Maybe some bonus points for him on would keep him gaining +NTI. I am just going to try and squeeze every 0.1 that i can into my team, and out where necessary. I just want to make as much money, which i can use to buy better players in the coming weeks. If Moses falls 0.2, then that would be just sweet. You never know, with players getting injured too, so i feel i'll be well protected against that.

Also as the weeks go by, more and more players become non-active, so i can kind of predict that this period will hopefully see me gain more in terms of ££ than say GW 11. Also with respect to the double gameweeks, i don't think it's too hard to plan for it. We normally know about it say 3 weeks in advance and then we can base our transfers on that, getting 2/3 players in. Along with the double gameweek players, we'd most likely already possess.

Yeah, that will be a really interesting game from an FPL perspective. So much potential, given both have a good run of fixtures to come, and both have Solid fpl options e.g. Adebayor, VDV, RVP etc.

From a neutrals perspective, it should be a great match too

Oh yeah… enjoying actual football. Something FPL really has spoiled for me, at least when I saw Aguero limp off after 26 mins. Kind of reminds me it’s all a game in the end and I got to be able to laugh at my bad decisions. At least there’ll be no shortage of laughs then!

I think I’m pretty much convinced now to go for the WC tonight and catch as many bandwagons as I can, and use the profits to settle on a balanced squad that plans up to GW14 or so with a transfer every other week, for insurance. Main dilemma is whether to go for Super Six while it’s still possible or spread value evenly so I can rotate with ease.

Keep updated on how WC trading goes! Gonna be madness juggling everything.
