      I would say that he still offers substantial goal threat from set pieces. I'm considering Rojo also, cheaper and similar goal threat, if he nails down a starting spot before Luke Shaw is fit.

    I want to use bench boost to make drastic changes to my team. Need to sell Hazard, Gomez, probably Richards and McCarthy too. I'm getting KDB and Toby/ Kompany/ Smalling for the fixtures. I would sell if Ayew didn't score last night.

    Ideas welcome for my current team:

    Butland, McC
    Dawson, Bellerin, Cedric, Richards, Gomez
    Hazard, Ayew, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez
    Bony, Pelle, Vardy

    Bench boost will allow 3 or 4 transfers without affecting the OR. Currently placed around 70k.

      what?

      using your bench boost now will only mean that you won't have it later in season for a DGW when it could have an even greater effect on improving your OR

      hits are hits and minus four is minus four

      covering it up with a bench boost now doesn't make them not be hits.

        I agree it can be used at a later time (dgw) with greater effect but at the same time it is a bit of an interesting and different strategy using your bench boost as a way to "cover" up some hits. If your team is in desperate need of some changes and you have no wildcard in hand you can uses this bench boost as a sort of lesser wildcard. That being said it obviously doesn't create an advanced standing (i.e more players to play) in that gw which is what the bench boost is for.

          If you play bench boost when there are no DGW, you get 16 scores. (2x captain). As opposed to 12 scores.

          If you play bench boost when you can set your team with extra players who have DGW, who you would not ordinarily be able to fit in your eleven man lineup, then every one of those DGW players on your bench brings two additional scores to your total for the week.

          You have to set it up, probably with a wildcard the week before, and it may be hard to wind yourself out of, but that's what people are shooting for.

          Played in that situation, it has a greater impact than when played now.

            Not disputing that at all. I understand how it should ultimately be played and I'm planning something similar to that. I'm just saying that if a team was in desperate need due to injury, non playing player, etc... that it could be used to off set a large amount of hits and that could be a positive play at this stage. I don't think there is a right or wrong place to play it though there may be a more optimal time to play it.

      Innovative thinking, but not required.

      Lose Hazard for KDB. Dawson, Bellerin and Cedric is then a fine defence for next week with Richards as cover. I would try to do Gomez > Spurs/United defender asap after that though.

        bench boost is the one I'm most looking forward to using. I'll most likely use it right after a WC where I can get a bunch of good playing players with good fixtures and then trade accordingly.

    Will all the scores from gw11 be considered october or will the gw be split between 2months seeing as theres fixtures on the 1st of november..

      You wouldn't split the scores, as that would benefit people with more players playing on the 31st of October. It would either count as October, or as November (probably Oct)

    Probably a bit of a noob question, but if you're setting up a H2H league, there are options for (none) 1,2 or 3 knock out rounds - what does this mean?

    Is that like quarters, semi and final? And when do the knock-out rounds start?

      Exact same starting 11, except I have Sakho instead of Martial...

      I was thinking about Everton cover, Lukaku and/or Coleman. Obviously I need to do something with Sakho, just not firing at the moment, so Lukaku seems like the logical move, but Martial is the other option I think...

      I'm keeping an eye on Cedrics game time, if it looks under threat again this week, then I might ship him

          My bench player is Francis, so I'm hoping Cedric does start, as I think he has a better chance at a CS. I'm gutted I didnt get Nyom at the beginning, would have been a much smarter move!
