Gameweek 10’s send-off pits Liverpool against Southampton at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp oversaw a 0-0 draw away to Tottenham in his first match at the helm, while Saints might still be ruing what could’ve been after surrendering a two-goal lead against Leicester City.
The Reds ranked third for attempts (69) and shots on target (26) over the last four Gameweeks, yet harvested just five goals. It’s hardly surprising, then, that Watford (5.4%) are the only outfit with an inferior shot-conversion rate than the Merseysiders (6.1%) this term. On a more positive note, Klopp will draw encouragement from the fact that only West Bromwich Albion (22) and Manchester City (21) conceded fewer shots inside the box (23) over that period.
Southampton are unbeaten on their travels this season and recorded a sensational 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The south-coast club rank bottom for shots inside the box conceded in away matches (21), while only Crystal Palace (one) allowed fewer big chances (two). Their shot frequency on the road (one every 6.8 minutes) is excellent, too – only three sides fired off attempts with greater regularity.
