In our new series of “Monitor” Members articles, we turn our attentions to Matthew Etherington. The Stoke winger has been a mid-price Fantasy favourite for the past two seasons now but so far he’s yet to make any sort of impact, with just one assist to his name after six appearances.

Analysing both the OPTA and our own ICT stats, we dig deep in an attempt to ascertain just how and why he’s failed to produce the Fantasy returns so typical of those last couple of campaigns…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Personally I think AVL (H) is actually a pretty good fixture for City. They have the potential to get big wins at home against even mid teams. United Liverpool games are often hard to call because it's more WWF than football.

Got rid of Dzeko after game week 6 as he just didn't look that sharp in the Everton match. I also think that Villa will keep it very tight away from home - still lose but I can't see a rout.

I'm thinking that Liverpool will go for it, Kenny will demand a performance, which could lead to a high scoring open game. Less of the Benitez boredom anyway.

      So IMHO Rooney

      P.s.still might captain Silva tho

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Bosingwa. Kompany. Shawcross. Simpson. DeLaet
    Nani. Silva. Brunt. Taarabt. Dyer
    Rooney. Agbonlahor. Aguero

    1FT. 1.5m in the bank.

Doing Brunt + Aguero > Petrov + RVP for a 4 point hit. Sound good?

I wouldnt do any transfers until you know for sure that Aguero isnt playing

If he's not then get RVP in for a couple of wks.

If Aguero is playing then just do Brunt to Petrov

I wouldn't take a hit to do both of them - looking at your team an extra 4 points plus points from Simpson or Dyer as sub looks good to me.....

I'm with you but Villa at home is a decent fixture for Aguero.
If he's fit i'd leave him in for it and only do the Brunt - Petrov transfer. Then if you really dont want Aguero at OT bring in RVP next week for no points hit.
I happen to think opposition wont matter so much to Aguero with Nasri and Silva on fire behind him and I'll leave him in at OT. Not worth the hassle to me to have to bring him back in.

If on the other hand you find out Friday that Aguero's not playing and you plan on captaining RVP for both games then the 4 points could be worth it...

What do people think about Ramsey, Arteta and Walcott?

Hard to know which will get the points, has been spread put quite evenly so far, money is no object for me but i think Ramsey could be a better option just because of his price, would allow me to strengthen elsewhere.

For the money involved Ramsey is by far the best option.
He plays further forward that Arteta and leaves you with almost 2mill in the bank.

Walcott is so hit and miss I'd only bring him in when Arsenal are playing well and have successive games against the worst teams in the league. With neither of those conditions filled I'd be spending money on an in form mid around the 6mill mark and using the extra cash for a far better player than Walcott

Been thinking about my keepers for the season, its currently Given and Vorm.

Whats the opinion on Given so far? I havent seen enough of Villa to judge properly to be honest and I also feel I'm biased cos Given's been an Irish hero for years now but, is Begovic a better option for the season?

Have one free transfer left so I'll either sort out the DeLaet situation or use this opportunity to sort my Keepers....

-He's out performed Ramsey this season, with tougher fixtures.
          -On set pieces
          -has the better upcoming fixtures
-Could be on pens if Davies is off the pitch.

Not the same league as Ramsey at the mo,
447 touches, successful passes 187, key passes 15.

Tough because B has better strikeforce but A has the VDV factor. I would say B because RVP can be devastating when in form.

So VDV and Adebayor v RvP and Petrov? I'd say B, because Adebayor is only 50:50 to play. I'd maybe want VDV instead of Nani since you have Rooney and Utd have 3 hard fixtures.

Yeah, I think 2 Spurs players might be too much, their fixtures aren't that amazing, 4 away in the next 6. Quite easy teams, though, but with Ade and VDV it's one injury doubt and one injury-prone.

1 goal, probably, but not 2. I reckon Nani will also score.

Thing is, Liverpool(A), City(H), Everton(A) - Two major rivals and his boyhood club. Must be fired up and get goals but will probably get frustrated, drop deeper to receive the ball and get booked. Obvious rest / 2 pointer at Goodison as well
