In our new series of β€œMonitor” Members articles, we turn our attentions to Matthew Etherington. The Stoke winger has been a mid-price Fantasy favourite for the past two seasons now but so far he’s yet to make any sort of impact, with just one assist to his name after six appearances.

Analysing both the OPTA and our own ICT stats, we dig deep in an attempt to ascertain just how and why he’s failed to produce the Fantasy returns so typical of those last couple of campaigns…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Ok so here's my team:

    Vorm (Krul)
    Bosingwa Kompany Enrique (Simpson, Briggs)
    N.Dyer Ramsey Nani Silva (Brunt)
    Drogba RVP(c) Adebayor

    Briggs- won't play
    Brunt- injury doubt
    Adebayor- injury doubt
    Drogba- gametime

Assuming Ade doesn't play, Brunt may come in, if not then Simpson.
    Worth doing a trade for a 4 point hit?>
    maybe Brunt->Petrov?

what's your team for this weekend mate?
I'm not too happy with mine either given the above injury doubts.
I have one excellent striker in an under performing team: Van Persie
          A gametime/selection doubt in Drogba
          and a possibly injured Adebayor!!

    Sh!!!!

Mata and Sturridge just rise +0.1 ...... They were just 91% and 90% on TotalFPL, but 95% and 29% on FISO

Cleverly fall -0.1 ....... He was -140% on FISO, but only -64% on TotalFPL

My plan totally ruined!!!! But, on the bright side, this well confirmed me to use TotalFPL for price rise and FISO for price fall

      Hi J'wick,

I was looking at Woodgate in my 4 (+1) ubercheap rotating defence. However, the rotation was dreadful: 4 at home one week; only one defender the next.

You might want to play with the ticker and see how Woodgate rotates with the other 4 defs.

Hey guys, my team is full of injury doubts. With one free trade and 3m in the bank, can you guys suggest some changes I need to make? The players in CAPS LOCK are injury/rotational doubts.

    Vorm, Krul
Bosingwa, Kompany, Simpson, Ward, DE LAET
    Silva, Mata, Moses, Dyer, YOUNG
    AGUERO, ADEBAYOR, AGBONLAHOR

Your fwd line needs to be your priority.

Didn't realise Agbon was an injury doubt - has this been confirmed?

You need to play this transfer as late as possible to find out who is/who is not playing. You have the money, so I'd be looking at Aguero->RVP if Aguero is out. Best of luck πŸ˜‰

So, my original plan was to do Dzeko -> Suarez and Wright-Phillips -> Petrov next g/w. Given Aguero is likely to be out should I do Aguero -> Suarez this week, the Petrov move next week, and then bring Aguero in for Dzeko after the Manchester derby? I can't decide.

You need to find out about the Aguero injury situation first, Jim. If Aguero is fit, leave him in. I'm not sold on Jecko.

I'm actually q excited by the prospect of bringing in RVP and Sturridge if Aguero and Adebayor are out πŸ™‚

Hey, hey. Is this the weekend that spells the dissolution of the Supa-Dupa Six?

According to the latest, City's Big Nurse is working her magic on Aguero's groin and he's looking to play against Villareal next week and in the Manchester derby.

Adebayor's a bigger worry, I think. I'm feeling very tempted by Sturridge as Adebayor could well be out for a while. Poor old Spurs - two weeks ago they looked great and now Adebayor, VDV, Krancjar and Corluka are all doubts. Makes me feel more confident about playing Simpson, though.

Doesnt really look like anything much, all he said was "he sometimes has a problem with that" and then goes on and says he had a few injuries last year and is a great goal-scorer.

So I'm quite new at this and would appreciate some feedback...

I have Best, 1.4m and a free transfer and I am thinking about buying in Sturridge

My dilemma (and it does your head in) is that Chelsea have both Liverpool and and Arsenal at home in the next 4 weeks, Torres is back in a couple and I need the cash in a few weeks as I want to make some changes to my midfield. My other 2 forwards and RVP and Rooney and my only other Chelsea player is Bosingwa...

    What would you do?

Right now Sturridge looks a great prospect. But RVP, Rooney and Best is a good forward line. I have Best and I'm just benching him this gw. Although I could even be tempted to send him into action.

Even if I had the cash and the transfer I couldn't get him in cause I already have Bos, Ramires & Mata πŸ˜‰

You are getting rid of Adebayor and Arteta when you have De Laet and Ferguson?
Alot of dead weight there, Brown, Taarabt, Brunt (to a certain extent), Arteta, Ruddy, Ferguson and De Laet.

    Captains Poll says:

    RVP
    Silva
    Rooney
    Suarez
    Sturridge
    Aguero
    Dzeko

I'd more or less agree with that, although I fear RVP is not a surefire hit.

And of course Aguero's looking highly doubtful.

Good morning ladys and gents. Have to sharpen my defence a bit to give me some options.

Current def: Brown, Bosingwa, Evans, Simpson, Senderos.

Senderos will have to go first. Any good options in the same price range with hope of a CS this GW?

It's a big question but everyone seems to be backing nani.

If VDV plays his favoured position, which after 'Arry's comment it seems he will (almost certainly this week) then I rate him highest midfielder behind Silva over the next few, and top 3 with Nani and Silva long-term.
I have Mata Silva Nani and VDV for now though, and when I WC I will be looking at ditching 1 which will be Mata me thinks, unless this 'midfield heavy' works well.

Yep, worked wonders last week which was the first time I tried it, with 52 from my front 8 (no thanks to captain Nani!)
Suarez-Adebayor-Sturridge up front can hopefully hold up against Rooney/Aguero/RVP enough for the next few until I WC.

        Current team:
        Hennessey (Vorm)
        Jones Enrique Bosingwa (Simpson, N.Taylor)
        Nani Ramsey Nasri Dyer (Ferguson)
        Rooney Adebayor Aguero

        Either I:
        - Bring in M.Petrov for Ferguson next week

Wow,,,to do Ferguson to Silva would help your team out incredibly. However why not have Sturridge instead of Agbonlahor? Your team would look sickkk. A Villa striker isn't what I'd want this week against City...
