      I dropped Ighalo two weeks ago, but I am not fretting, because I was never going to play him. If I kept him I would have been among the many bemoaning having his points on my bench. That looks foolish now, but that is how it would have happened.

      I am making some selection mistakes but I still believe it is better to have him in the fold than to have a scrub mid. We can enjoy his price rises and never have to spend a transfer to get him in.

    Well, I do not agree with save-the-money-ITB approach in anticipation to Aguero's return.

    When he eventually does return, even if you have 0.0 ITB, all it takes is a hit to fit him in (if you really want him immediately). We have seen this season that a hit really does not matter that much. I can speak for myself, I have taken 3 hits in the last 4 gameweeks, and risen from 500k to 10k in that period...

    Enjoy the money as long as you can. 😉

      Completely agree with this. The cost of keeping a space open for Aguero is likely to be a lot more that the advantage you MIGHT get by being able to switch him back in with one move.

    All too often people around here take a stand on Friday, and then when it proves wrong on Saturday, they explain that the results prove nothing, that they were right in principle or according to the stats, and that they stand by their decision. Sometimes this is fair, but too many times this is just denial.

    So this is me saying I just got it wrong. I posted several times on Friday that I reckoned this was the week to bench Vardy. I said that he would get stopped sooner or later, and that WBA was just the team to do it (note, I never argued he was "due" a blank, or that he was in line for regression, just that WBA would suss him). I benched Vardy to play Bony, and that was just flat a mistake. I was wrong. I was right as between Mahrez (whom I played) and Vardy, but I was wrong that Vardy was benchable this week. I thought that Vardy's style could and would be neutralized by Pulis, and this was an error. I paid. Oh well. I still have him, and Bony will score big points soon.

    There. I've said it. Now can I have my mojo back please? 😉

        I thought he might too, but that Bony would score a lot more. I seriously expected to be triumphant today, with Mahrez scoring more (check) and Bony scoring way more (fail). Vardy's goal would not have felt like a fail if Bony had come through. *sigh*

      I played him and Mahrez...and my double Pulis as well (mainly coz had no option for Dawson)

      Turned out okay. Normally in a battle of resolute defense and cracking attack, I have seen the attackers winning (except for some big teams which have superior mental ability)

        I think I need to keep this in mind. I really got myself wound up about the 2 LEI attackers against Myhill issue, and that drove my benching decision. Probably best to just focus on the attackers and let the defence catch what it can.

        This actually bugs me a lot. People (and I mean well-respected people around here) think they can just brazen it out, and keep saying they were right, for example, to drop the player who goes on to score huge--that it was just luck. I'm not surprised you got a frosty reception, because it seems to be an entitlement on here to be loudly wrong and not be forced to admit it.

      As good as they are, why are City replacement strikers such poor FPL prospects when Aguero is out?

      Despite having good fixtures I've steered clear of Bony as it normally ends in misery as with Dzecko and Negredo etc

        could be argued that Aguero only had one the whole season, so seems the City strike force as a whole this season is not good in FPL terms.
