We delve into the data this evening in our first members article of the week. Watford, Man City and Everton’s strikers arrive under analysis, whilst we also assess United and Newcastle’s attacks before casting an eye over a couple of defensive differentials from City and Liverpool.

REPOST, need some help here lads

Which is a better option for next week?

    A- 3-4-3 with (Kolarov, Cedric and Francis/Azpi), benching Payet/Mane

B- 3-5-2 with (Kolarov, Cedric and Francis/Azpi), benching Kane

C- AOA with Azpi on bench

    1. Sjaugen

A - Play Azpi. Bench Payet out of those. Benching Kane is mad in a derby, even though the derby is vs Arsenal.

And get a grav mate. You seem to post here a lot

Sorry members for the small peek of stats.

However looks like Pelle will have 2 shots away @SAFC, hope he won't score with any of them. Smaller risk to bench him right? If he scores at least you know you have played the smart stat decision

However SAFC conceded 24 big chances per game that means 2,18 big chances per game. I guess one of that big chances will go to Pelle (statistically wise), so I think gambling on him being the donkey on that one big chance is worth the risk no?

Yeah your bench saved me, but it was very interesting, you had the 1:0 lead after I made 12 pt hit, you had all the advantage, but didn't capitalize. Wish me luck in the next round against Hooky. However I love the format, really involves more skill than luck

Yeah you can definitely play H2H over 3 rounds very tactically if you want. There were a lot of decisions to be made in the 3rd round I felt. Anyway it was a deserved win, so good luck for the next round. Hopefully I was eliminated by the eventual winner!

Yep. Pelle has 18 league goals for So'ton, 15 home & 3 away. Think Pelle is better for the home games & Mané for the away fixtures.

But then again, it is vs. Sunderland.

You can't ignore the fact that Sunderland have conceded 14 in their last 6 games. That's just as relevant (if not more so) a stat than the difference between Pelle's home/away form.

I wouldn't like to bank on their main striker missing at least one big chance. I guess you've got a really good front 8, so fair enough if he's the one that you need to bench. My team's not quite that strong though!

Have you seen Sunderland defending lately? They have no clue what is going on. Even against Newcastle they didn't exist until referee's help. They have rotation in CB all the time. If Coates plays, I'm sure they concede 2 at least.

Hoping to follow in WR's footsteps and am going all out to try to win UFPL for November. A few things I have noticed are there are only 3 gameweeks, Spurs play 3 times on a Sunday, Liverpool twice at home on Sundays, Palce v Sunderland is the only Monday match. Anyone got any advice for a first time UFPL player or can anyone suggest any punts?

Killing time at work and genuinly interested to learn from any Man U fans or others so plz excuse a repost-

A comment above about Man Us attackers got me thinking. For me this would be a good basis for them-

    ----Bastien Schnidelin-----
    ????------Mata------????
    -------------Martial--------

    That leaves-
    Rooney
    Herrera
    Young
    Valencia
    Depay
    Fellani
    Blind
    Carrick

All of these players are either pretty poor or if put in the team would be out of position. LVG is an obv stubborn bugger but they have a really unbalanced and in place overloaded squad. Interested in any Man U fans take on them.
Just feels odd that they are so high in the league and i have no interest in their mids or forwards.

I personally think Valencia doesn't have a place in MID.. can only be used as backup RB else, must be sold. Same with Fellaini, must be sold. Depay must be given some time, until end of season maybe. Carrick nearing retirement.

Left with only Young and Herrera. I think Herrera plays well alongside Mata and should book the RM place. For the LM, it must be played between Young and Depay (some minutes).

Rooney, if played, must be in the No.10 role, in the place of Mata in your lineup.

      1. Joggers Nipple
        • 16 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

Agree with time for Depay. Personally I think Mata is potentially one of the best number 10's in the league. Wasted anywhere else

          • 10 Years

Indeed, he's the best Man Utd player this season so far (beside DDG and Smalling).
That says, no place for Rooney, else coming from the bench at the 70min mark, to replace Mata. Coz Mata does feel tired after the hour mark.

    5. Cruicky
      • 14 Years
      10 years, 1 month ago

Pace on the wings. To force the opposition back, make the pitch wide & give midfielders more space to dictate play. That's why Martial & Lingard have been played wide. I'd expect Depay to get a bit more gametime as well also.

    6. PurpleCobras

I was at the game last night. Unfortunately, Depay looked completely shorn of confidence when he came on, so I think it may take time for him to come back as a starter. Lingard was heavily involved in our attacking play and it seems that LVG is a fan. Rooney actually played a lot better than he has recently, so I wouldn't leave him out completely.

So for now i'd go for Mata, Rooney and Lingard/Depay behind Martial.

The rest of the players you list are either clearly not wide attacking players or are past their prime.

    Butland
    Cedric - Azpi - Moreno
De Bruyne - Mane - Payet - Sanchez - Mahrez
    Pelle - Martial

Subs: Myhill - Ighalo - Mert - Janmaat

Do I wildcard? I am very happy with my midfield going forward, so I am not changing that when I wildcard. I am very unhappy with my defence. Want Bellerin in for Mert and maybe get rid of Azpi until Chelsea get back to form. Also forwards wise would rather I had somebody else instead of Martial and my keepers are poor going forward.

Any thoughts or tips going forward?

    Fabianski
    Monreal | Cédric | Janmaat
Sánchez | Hazard | De Bruyne | Mané
    Lukaku | Pellè | Ighalo

    2FT, 0.0M.

    Thoughts on:

    – Hazard –> Sissoko (bou, LEI, cpl)
    – Fabianski –> Da Gea (WBA, wat, lei, WHM, bou, NOR, stk)

It leaves enough for Pellè –> Agüero with one transfer.

that's nice 🙂 Looking at Wenger says, he talks about Bellerin then mentions the others are closer to a return, saying training on friday etc. which would indicate he's definitely missing the weekend, especially so he doesn't go to Int. Duty

        DDG Hart

Sagna Otamendi Smalling Clyne Monreal Rojo

Mahrez Willian Sterling Payet Redmond Ozil Sanchez GYLFI

        RONNEY Giroud Lukaku Gomis Benteke

I would triple ManU defence for sure. Remember that you need to win scouts more than 16 points margin so lots of differentials is needed and take risks.

Alright, if Bellerin does miss the weekend, I am in a lot of trouble.

    Myhill

    Bellerin* - Darmian* - Williams - Muniesa* - Targett*

    Sanchez - KdB - Mane - Mahrez - Westwood

    Costa - Kane - Vardy

1FT, 1 mil in the bank

I do have the AOA chip remaining and could come handy for damage reduction this week.

Also, which defences do you think are the way to go now onwards?
