Hector Bellerin is ruled out of the north London derby, though Laurent Koscielny still has a chance of making it. Watford’s Odion Ighalo has recovered from a dead leg, Winston Reid is back for West Ham, whilst Christian Fuchs returns to the Leicester squad after shrugging off a knock.

Hector Bellerin has been ruled out of Arsenal’s derby clash with Spurs, though Arsene Wenger is hopeful that the right-back could return just after the international break. The Gunners boss has also revealed that Laurent Koscielny has “an 80% chance” of appearing in Sunday’s home encounter.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Bryan Oviedo could miss the next three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against Sunderland last time out. Mo Besic, Tom Cleverley and Leighton Baines have all returned to full training, though the Toffees boss has admitted that they won’t be rushed back into action and are unlikely to feature this weekend. Baines is set to play in a behind-closed-doors friendly next week to aid his fitness. Meanwhile Steven Pienaar and Tony Hibbert remain unavailable for the Toffees.

West Ham remain without Diafra Sakho for the visit of Everton, with the forward sidelined after feeling a small tear in his thigh during training last week. Winston Reid has been back in training for a week and is available for selection, confirmed Slaven Bilic. Elsewhere, Alex Song has recovered from injury and is set to play in a friendly for the Hammers next week as he steps up his fitness.

Sam Allardyce has been boosted by the news that Fabio Borini, Ola Toivonen, Younes Kaboul and John O’Shea have all returned to training for Sunderland. The quartet missed the defeat to Everton but are back in contention for the weekend. Lee Cattermole will miss out, however, with the combative midfielder suffering a groin injury in last Sunday’s loss.

Ronald Koeman has issued an update ahead of the Southampton’s trip to Sunderland, revealing that the squad is unchanged from the victory over near neighbours Bournemouth. Shane Long is back in training after an ankle injury, though remains unavailable for selection this weekend.

Christian Fuchs is back in contention for Leicester as they play host to Watford at the weekend. The Austrian defender missed out in last weekend’s come-from-behind win at the Hawthorns with a knock.

Bournemouth are sweating on the availability of Artur Boruc and Steve Cook ahead of the weekend. Boss Eddie Howe has revealed that the pair will face late fitness tests.

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores has allayed fears over Odion Ighalo, confirming that the striker is fit for the weekend after limping off with a dead leg in last weekend’s victory over West Ham. There is less positive news on Jose Manuel Jurado, with Flores conceding that the midfielder is almost certain to miss out with a hamstring injury once again.

Swansea boss Garry Monk has revealed he has a fully-fit squad to choose from for tomorrow’s trip to Carrow Road.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Philippe Coutinho (hamstring) and Adam Lallana (knock) were rested to the bench for last night’s win over Ruben Kazan, though both “could have played” if called upon.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

I am captaining him after spending hours looking at stats. His minutes/chance, touches in the box, and attempts are very strong throughout the last 4.

Giroud's been finding the net with that head of his, but Sanchez has still looked threatening, only without the end result.

Can't find it in me to captain Mahrez or Vardy, Lukaku still isn't as consistent as others, and KDB's goal threat (stats-wise) has been non existent recently.

Plus, Sunday football with your big bad Chilean captain featuring.

I definitely agree that he looked tired, but he's one of the fittest players in the league and has Sunday game. I think he'll be just fine, and upset that the Frenchman is stealing the show.

Like Neighmar, i don't really fancy the other options. But if Alexis doesn't put up as good #numbers with giroud in the side, coupled with Spurs defensive resolve this season, i might be put off. Really struggling as i don't own a City attacker.

Demi, who'd you likely pick from this lot? Ignoring the players I've discounted.

              KDB - Mahrez - Sanchez - Payet
              Lukaku - Vardy - Pelle

Considering Sanchez, Payet (Against a very penetrable Everton, with lots of headed chances conceded (hello Andy from Dimitri), or Lukaku or Pelle.

KDB would be my 2nd choice, but it's close with Alexis. Lukaku 3rd simply given his record vs West Ham, then the rest. Don't trust Leicester vs Watford either yet

Considering Ozil these figures become (regardless of whether Giroud plays or not):
                  0.364 G, 0.545 A, 2.727 S, 3.364 KP - When Ozil is not on the pitch
                  0.333 G, 0.056 A, 3.444 S, 1.722 KP - When Ozil plays

Considering Giroud (regardless of whether Ozil plays or not) the numbers are:
                  0.400 G, 0.000 A, 2.600 S, 2.200 KP - When Giroud is not on the pitch
                  0.333 G, 0.292 A, 3.292 S, 2.375 KP - When Giroud plays

And specifically when all three are on the pitch in the same game:
                  0.308 G, 0.077 A, 3.769 S, 1.538 KP - When they all play

Don't have the exact numbers to hand but that was the general trend. Of course the sample sizes are way too small to have any kind of confidence interval and it could just be that Sanchez dipped through tiredness/lack of form/bad luck.

      1. Demí
        • 15 Years
        10 years, 2 months ago

Ah fair enough, i did wonder about the sample size. Particularly lately with Walcott having featured so heavily this season. I think i'm just gonna go through with it. Guaranteed near on 90 minutes in a derby.

How come people are saying bench Mane and/or Pelle when they are playing sunderland who got battered 6-2 last week. Am i missing something? Please tell me as I was planning on giving the armband to Pelle and playing tadic over Wijnaldum.... Is there something I dont know or just love for big sam? I think many would expect Sam to tighten up at the back after last week, but personally I think Southampton will smell blood, escpecially after last seasons result in the back of the Sunderland players minds.

Makes sense yeah thanks. People will think Big Sam will park the bus. When in fact, at the minute, they would probably need a double decker train on the goalline and would still concede.

Perhaps it will end 0-0, but it's definitely worth a punt, 1 early goal and it could be a goal fest.

I'm sitting 3rd in mini league and people above me don't have pelle at all so i'm thinking of captaining him as a punt. We have mainly the same other players everywhere else so could be great or terrible.hmmmm

Got 2 FTs, use them both or just the 1? Defence the focus here:

    A: Darmian > Rojo
    B: Prodl/Dawson > Moreno

Is it sheer foolish penny pinching to still be considering going for Phil Jones instead of Rojo and saving 0.2? Is Rojo really more secure?

He is, yes. Jones is a sicknote and already in the 'red zone' after playing 2 games in a row.

Fair enough, just trying to establish the reason Rojo is the bandwagon and Jones is being ignored. Their injury records are very similar.

Yea Rojo is and Jones is risky to start evey game...Moreover i guess Rojo has been given the license to go forward and stretch the game as most teams against Utd park the bus

Hmm Man United fixtures don't look as good as first thought, WBA WHU are good away from home, whilst WAT LEI BOU are good at home

Look pretty good from a defensive perspective though.
