With the third international break of the season upon us, we’re afforded time to assess the leading contenders in the Fantasy Football Scout leagues across a variety of games. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League,Sky Sports and Sun Dream Team, there’s plenty to catch up on.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Jon Mjelde surged to the top of our Scout League – and 20th in the overall rankings – by way of a 64-point haul this Gameweek. His decision to captain Romelu Lukaku paid dividends, while Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane also found the target. Although all four of Jon’s midfielders drew blanks, clean sheets from David de Gea, Virgil van Dijk and Aleksandar Kolarov bolstered his score.

Despite posting 60 points (15 above the average), Mark Kalafatas was displaced from the top spot following the last round of fixtures. The 29th-ranked manager opted for a 3-5-2 set-up, deploying Vardy and Lukaku as his strike partnership. Manuel Lanzini (1% ownership) proved to an excellent differential, while Mesut Ozil carded a handy eight points.

Samuel Slennet – who sat at the summit when we last penned a leagues round-up – sits in third place by virtue of a 57-point Gameweek. Samuel was rewarded for handing Vardy the skipper’s armband and also profited from Jack Butland’s and Daryl Janmaat’s shut-out points.

Amassing 72 points, Chris Rigden propelled himself into fourth place. A back four that included the likes of Butland and Scott Dann combined for 31 points. In the attacking positions, Ozil, Lukaku and Vardy (captain) brought home the bacon.

Rounding off the top five, Panna Fricker (65 points) also excelled on the defensive front after plumping for double Manchester City coverage (Bacary Sagna and Kolarov). Captain Harry Kane and Vardy complemented her defensive returns.

We’re pleased to say we sit in top spot in the League of Leagues as we look to defend our title for another season. To join this league use the code: 600-520

FPL MEMBERS SCOUT LEAGUE

Jon Mjelde is also the frontrunner in the Members League and boasts a 34-point lead at the top of the leaderboard.

Andrew Dougan retained his second spot from last Gameweek with a tally of 48 points. Although his Alexis Sanchez captaincy failed to hit the mark, Vardy, Lukaku, Butland and Kolarov came up trumps.

Third-place Marsel Levi was left frustrated by Wilfried Bony’s early withdrawal but still managed to accrue 50 points. Beyond a Vardy captaincy, Kolarov, Ozil and De Gea were his key performers.

The curiously named Zunker 1 will have some tinkering to do in the wake of injuries to Mamadou Sakho and Dimitri Payet. Nonetheless, they notched a respectable 48 points, owing to a Lukaku captaincy and solid returns from the likes of Vardy and Marcos Rojo.

Trev Grant edged into the top five after picking up 49 points. Owning Payet and Bony thwarted his progress, but a captained Vardy, Kolarov and Chris Smalling rescued his Gameweek.

ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Panna Fricker’s success extends to Ultimate Fantasy Premier League ladder, where she sits in the gold-medal berth. A 60-point Gameweek elevated her to a total score of 932 – good enough for second in the overall rankings.

John Donnelly is hot on the heels of Panna with 928 points, having relinquished the top spot due to a disappointing 30-point haul. Ryan Evans slipped into third position with a score of 920, despite beating the 43-point average by five points.

Michael Wong ended this Gameweek on 915 points after tallying 63 points – no one in the top 50 surpassed that total on the weekend. Dean Howard retains a place in the top five but is now five points adrift (910) of Michael Wong.

To join this league, use the code: 1258-516.

SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL

Alan Wood (826 points) has taken a commanding lead at the peak of the Scout League, with Mark William (792) 34 points back in second place. Jeff Payne (783) is clinging onto third by a one-point margin yet has chalked up five more goals than Alan Wood.

We currently sits in fourth spot in the league of leagues as we look to defend our crown. To join this league use the league name: FFScout and the code: 8009000

SUN DREAM TEAM

Jeff Payne (776 points) enjoys a 10-point lead at the top of the table, with Chris Smalling (93) tallying the most points among his 11-man squad. He’s profited greatly from a back five comprised entirely of Manchester United defenders, although there’s work to be done with injuries to Luke Shaw and Payet.

David O Byrne (766 points) fronts the chasing pack. Amassing 103 points, Graziano Pelle has been his star man, while Alexis Sanchez’s 87 points have also been impactful. A 23-point gap between him and Tony H. (743) has opened up, with the latter harvesting 187 points from his two-man strike partnership (Harry Kane and Pelle).

Nigel Dodds (739) has loaded up with seven of Louis van Gaal’s troops, including Wayne Rooney (104 points). He’s fending off the challenge from Tim Mongiat (738), who’s just one point adrift of fourth place and also possesses a team with a distinct Man United flavour.

    10 years, 1 month ago

After the chat about Ozil and assists and BAPS I went back and updated my baseline BPS calculator. This is a stat dump for the top 40 midfielders and forwards, with a filter on a minimum of two attacking returns so far this season.

This is baseline bonus points so it strips out BPS for goals assists and cards. You'll notice that this is largely filled with midfielders but bear in mind when adding back in BPS, forwards get 24 for a goal whereas mids get 18 for a goal. All assist are worth 9.

I'm going to defer to what Doolittle told me yesterday along the lines of he wishes Deu was nailed but he doesn't trust Martinexz when there are so many other options about.

Aha to clarify, I think he will start 80-85% of games, but you would have to be prepared for occasional rotation (particularly around Christmas I would imagine). If you have a strong bench then it may not be a big problem.

Dembele, Lamela, Eriksen, Son, Chadli for that 3 behind Kane.

For now Dembele, Eriksen and Lamela have been nailed but who will Son soon come in for?

18/24 points for a goal 9 for an assist 😉

In all seriousness though BAPS at Arsenal are a nightmare especially with the most active defenders in the league:

Yeah fair enough. But you'd have to fancy Ozil to pick up attacking returns in the next few, and with that baseline he'll surely have a sniff around some BAPS

Yep and my interest in him has turned a corner tonight with these conversations, alas I don't have a Payet to get rid of. Instead I'm tossing up Giroud as a stop gap between Bony and Aguero as that word 'coverage' in the Arsenal attack.

Once saw an article on him which I thought hit the nail on the head. It said that Giroud is superb at doing everything a striker should, except for the 2 most important things, i.e. have pace to get in behind defenders and be clinical with his shooting.

He's a decent striker but he will never be good enough as the main front man for a title winning team....

    Chelsea's recent fines
£40,000 - For failing to control players in 2-0 victory over Arsenal on 19 September
£50,000 - For Jose Mourinho following comments after 3-1 defeat to Southampton on 3 October
£40,000 - For Mourinho after argument with referee Jon Moss during 2-1 defeat to West Ham on 24 October
£25,000 - For receiving more than five bookings against West Ham on 24 October
£50,000 - For failing to control players against West Ham on 24 October

and how much of that is going back into grassroots? At junior level they can fine Under 12 teams a tenner for not marking out a technical box for managers. Christ almighty the FA milk English football for all they can with no discernible improvement in the national team either.

    So I took a -4 hit & did:
Zouma & Payet out - Ake & Ozil in. 0.8itb.

I mainly got Ake as a good auto if Kolorov is rotated.

    Team for gw13
    Butland
    Kolarov, Smalling, Bellerin
    Sanchez, Ozil, KDB, Mahrez
    Lukaku, Vardy (c), Pelle

    McCarthy, Ake, Redmond, Richards.

As for my Aguero plan. Pelle, KDB out & Aguero/6.6 mf in. However I think Aguero can wait for a couple of games so I'll probably downgrade Redmond & Richards first & maybe replace McCarthy first.

You'll lose like 0.3/0.4, if not more, on Payet just sitting there. Pelle is at home to Stoke. He'll get some points.

    Team: http://i.imgur.com/udow9K6.png

    A) KdB to Bolasie (allows me to use FT next week for Pelle to Aguero with 1.5m left)

    B) Pelle to Lukaku

Then basically go 3-4 weeks without him till he starts firing or one of Kane/Vardy/Lukaku stop.

      Toughie.

Lukaku looks good at the moment but if it stops Kun tehn could be tricky.

If you go for A then don't put Bolasie in, he isn't a strong fantasy football prospect in my opinion

he needs to go this week, doesn't make sense to hold, and he will inevitably fall more then the 0.1 so far so it makes sense to not suffer any more drops.

BUT, with the internationals there is always the risk of other injuries so I would just monitor the sites carefully to see when he's likely to drop.

Currently only -5.4 so i think you are good for a day or two maybe but keep an eye on them.

On second thoughts may have been last night he dropped, or the night before. either way he has gone down 0.1 so you have a bit of space to think before he drops again

Any early thoughts on this? Will of course monitor for 1 week. 2FT, 1.2 ITB

    Gomes
    Rojo Sagna Bellerin*
    Mahrez Sanchez Payet* KDB
    Lukaku Pelle Vardy

    (Myhill, Cedric, Hoolahan, Soare)

Payet out is obvious, but who to get?

well you are going to be wanting aguero at some point, whether that be for liverpool or one of the following weeks so it makes sense to start to plan for that.

With Hoolahan as your fifth mid you need to decide to either rotate him with another cheap mid, or allow him to be your bench fodder and downgrade potentially at a later stage.

In hindsight it was a stupid move from me to take the armband of Vardy and give it to Mahrez "on a punt". Of course he'll take them.

That doesn't seem to be what Morgan is explicitly saying, he appears to be saying that, while this run continues, if there is a game in which Leicester get a penalty and Vardy hasn't scored yet, he will get it.

After it happened last week this seems pretty obvious doesn't it? If he's about to equal the record I don't see why Mahrez would take them after he gave the last one up.

What happens after the record business is over is a different story

            Atm I have Lukaku,Pelle,Vardy

Next week I will bring in Kane or Aguero for Pelle.

Then weigh up Vardy > Kane/Aguero. I will have to dg KDB or Sanchez to probably one of Yaya, Sterling or Coutinho yo achieve it.

So it will be wk 15 or 16 !hits would be needed too do it earlier.

My plan is to switch Vardy to Kun, after Newcastle if Vardy blanks or Aguero comes back with a bang.

What if neither of those happen?

      Downgrade C.

Not A, because Eriksen is hot and cold, unless you punt on Alli which doesn't make much difference. Kane seems to be back on track too.
Not B, because Ranieri made them look nearly fixture proof. The matches against Arsenal and West Brom proved so.
Possibly C, but I would throw in Deulofeu or Barkley to garner the points if I discard C.

Thanks for the info. Will see how they do over the next week/two and then decide.

    Butland McCarthy
    Azpi Kolarov Bertrand Francis Richards
    Sanchez KDB Tadic Maherz Westwood
    Pelle Lukaku Vardy
    1 FT, 4.3 itb

Will probably wait until international break is over or until Rojo's price is about to rise to do

    Azpi + Pelle --> Rojo + Aguero (-4)

    Good move?

Which cheap mid to bring in for Payet who is NOT Leicester/Soton as have 3 from each??

Also is it best to take a 0.1mn fall from Payet and do transfer at end of break or catch the profit and hope all other attackers return fit from country matches?

You could go with Bolasie? A lot of people seem to be doing that. Mata also?

I would catch the profit 🙂

Jeez, this is the issue of the day isn't it!? Personally had I not bought Ozil the day before for Mane, I'd have brought him inn for Payet and happily kept Mane.

Part of me doesn't want to immediately re-buy Mane, having then wasted on of my 2FTs. He is an option though.

Otherwise... Delofeu, Cabaye, Coutinho, or go cheaper to free up funds... Lanzini, or really cheap and get a 4.5M bench fodder, such as Gosling or Surman.

There are too many options and I can't make my mind up yet either.

Guys... Does anyone have any insight as to the reason why Ward didn't start for Palace at the weekend? I, like many I'm sure, was poised to get him in, but now his starts look for from certain.

Do we feel Kelly is nailed now? As I may pick him up as a cheaper alternative (it would actually facilitate a Payet replacement that I can't afford by 0.1 if I buy Ward too).
