Continuing our series of “Monitor” articles for Members, we turn our attention to Liverpool’s Dirk Kuyt. Following on from last week’s analysis of Jamie O’Hara and Matt Etherington, the idea is to analyse those proven Fantasy talents who have, for one reason or another, failed to produce the goods this time round and, looking at our own ICT Index and the Opta stats, determine whether an upturn may be just around the corner.

Following a stuttering start to the season, the last two weekends have seen Kuyt complete both games for Liverpool. A 2-0 derby win at Everton saw him replace Jordan Henderson on the wing in a 4-4-2, then, perhaps significantly, the return of Steven Gerrard against Man United afforded Kuyt a chance wide right up top, with Andy Carroll remaining on the bench for the entire match.

It remains to be seen just how much of a role he’ll have as the season unfolds but, given his 13 goals and 8 assists last time round, Kuyt can clearly produce, particularly if he gets the nod ahead of Carroll and is given a chance to produce alongside Suarez. Here’s how his season has fared so far:

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    My mids and forwards:

M Petrov Silva Gerrard Brunt (Dyer)
    Suarez Roonmeister Adebayor

My dilemma - should I transfer out Brunt for say Ramsey (or Anderson?) now for a 4 point hit? (Made one transfer already) - Ramsey would be the obvious one as I'd keep him in for a while - whilst WBA fixtures look poor for the next few weeks

Right i have Murphy who is a doubt, Gibbs who is pretty much out and simpsons place is supposedly threatened... I also have de laet on the bench as haven't got rid yet! and he most likely wont play! Which means i could end up one player short... Worth taking a hit to get one of Gibbs, Simpson or de laet out? Or does anyone reckon Simpson will play this week? Cheeeeers!

Reckon he will play. The whole Raylor/Simpson/Santon thing got blown out of proportion last weekend IMO - towards the end of the game they shifted Bale to LM to have a run at a tiring and under-performing Simpson, hence Santon coming on for him. Raylor had been having a decent game.

I still expect Raylor and Simpson to occupy those full back positions this weekend.

Murphy will probably be fit, wouldn't worry about him.

Reckon he might bag a penalty this weekend, won by ex-Toffee AJ (who never "goes down easily", of course)...

Change one of Gibbs or deLaet if you're going to take the hit...

Simpson getting subbed last week seems to have sent people here into a mild panic. But they were chasing a goal at the time so Taylor surely wasn't going to come off.

hard to play a centre back facing manU... although if they do win and keep a cleanie it may well be him collecting the bonus points.

i'm not sure why you have reo coker... i can't see him getting more than 3 points here

This is a question of team selection...I have already made my transfers this week (Gibbs, Best, Taarabt -> Enrique, Reo Coker, Agbonhalor)

I also have Woodgate and Bet Watson on the bench, but i feel my choice for the last place in the starting XI stands between Kompany and Reo-Coker

        ?

Who shall I captain out of:

RVP, Agbon, Adebayor, Mata, Silva, Nani, Enrique?

I can't see the standout choice... RVP faces a mostly rested Stoke side

The Stoke game yesterday has produced probably the funniest red card I've ever seen

Love his attempts to get out of it 😆

What do you make of Foresters howler last night? He made up for it with some smart saves but he's still nowhere near Newcastle standards

Haha didn't see your post, saw this on twitter so I'm innocent guv.

Yeah bit of a feck up, he's young though so he'll learn. Problem he has is Tim Krul is the same age, and better. So can't see a future for him with us, unless Krul leaves.

          Haha, I belive ye

I wasn't sure how old Krul was but if he's ages with Forester then I agree with you. I think Forester has potential but i've yet to see him have an outstanding game for Celtic. TIme will tell...

I would play Anderson over Kompany definitely! If he doesn't start then no worries!

That is an option...i suppose with playing Rooney I'm effectively hoping that ManC concede. Cheers for that.

    mata/silva/young/cabaye
    ade/sturridge/suarez (C)

    vorm/dyer/shawX/shorey

Debating saving my FT despite worries over Simpson and Luiz starting although have been itching to change Young for either VDV or Ramsey but have resisted.

good to go or use a FT? thoughts appreciated

Its definitely usable, but it seems that the FT might best serve you the week after.

I wouldn't say there's a "worry" over Luiz starting. He just isnt going to start. Started one in the prem this season and played full 90 in the CL midweek. 6.4 is a good defender to waste. That would be my priority
