Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla are sidelined with injuries picked up at Norwich last weekend. Watford will make a late decision on Heurelho Gomes’ fitness, Micah Richards is a concern for Villa, whilst West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is set for a period on the sidelines.

Earlier this morning, Arsene Wenger confirmed that Theo Walcott and Laurent Koscielny might be ready to return for the visit of Sunderland – both face late assessments tomorrow. The Gunners boss admitted he was uncertain over Alexis Sanchez’ likely return date, though Santi Cazorla could be sidelined until March. Kieran Gibbs is back for the Gunners after missing the trip to Carrow Road with a calf complaint.

Micah Richards is a big doubt for Villa’s trip to Southampton – he’s hardly trained all week due to a knee problem. Gabby Agbonlahor is back in training whilst both Jose Angel Crespo and Tiago Ilori are still sidelined. Remi Garde has confirmed that Jack Grealish remains unavailable for first-team selection due to recent off-field issues. Elsewhere, Ciaran Clark serves a one-match suspension after earning a fifth yellow card of the season last weekend.

Slaven Bilic has conceded that the Hammers are set to be without Diafra Sakho for “a few games, definitely” after the Senegal international sustained a thigh injury during last week’s draw against West Brom.

Jermain Defoe and Seb Larsson have both been ruled out of Sunderland’s trip to Arsenal, Sam Allardyce confirmed yesterday. Jack Rodwell is also unavailable for the Emirates encounter due to a hamstring problem.

Tony Pulis has revealed that West Brom will assess “one or two knocks and niggles” ahead of their home clash with Spurs. Claudio Jacob sits this one out through suspension, though Chris Brunt is back in contention after serving a one-match ban.

Ryan Mason has been ruled out with an ankle injury for Spurs’ trip to the Hawthorns. Dele Alli is available again after serving a one-match ban, whilst Nabil Bentaleb and Nacer Chadli are close to returning to training.

Swansea left-back Franck Tabanou is the only absentee ahead of their Liberty encounter with Leicester.

Quique Sanchez Flores will make a late assessment on Heurelho Gomes’ fitness after the keeper was forced off with a head knock last week. Valon Behrami remains sidelined for the Hornets, whilst Adlene Guedioura is expected to shrug off a minor knock. Sebastian Prodl has returned to training but will not be available in time for the visit of Norwich.

Alex Tettey has recovered from injury and has been passed fit for Norwich’s trip to Vicarage Road.

Leicester’s Ritchie de Laet has been ruled out for a month with an ankle injury sustained in training. Matty James stepped up his recovery from a long-term knee injury with a midweek run out for the reserves but is likely to miss out due to a lack of match fitness.

Cheick Tiote and Jamaal Lascelles are both unavailable for Newcastle’s home clash with Arsenal. Mike Williamson – who was recalled from a loan spell at Wolves to cover for Lascelles – has picked up a hamstring injury in training and is also ruled out.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

My fellow fantasy football addicts. Let's indulge and open our minds for a bit.

I know we all 'assume' Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Man City, Southampton, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham all 'should' take care of their opponents this weekend.

Heck, we all expect multiple goals and clean sheets from most of these fixtures.

Sorry to be one to remind you; it's not going to happen.

It's almost certain that one or more of these so called 'top' clubs will struggle to get a win this GW.

Perhaps Bournemouth or Crystal Palace attacking style will get them a few goals.

All it takes is a quick counter attack from West Ham, Stoke City, or West Brom to be the difference in a 1-0 slugfest.

Maybe, just maybe, Aston Villa will be able to grind out a result vs Southampton's shattered confidence.

The truth is one of the teams will be able to get a result this weekend.

A draw; perhaps an 'unexpected' win.

Welcome to reality, my friends, or should I say parity?

I'm searching for the 'top tier' team who will struggle, I need to know the upset.

Which match do you think we may be overlooking as a 'cupcake' fixture?

Rank the following Saturday fixtures from 'most' likely to be an upset to 'least' likely to be an upset.

    (A) ARSvsSUN
    (B) MUNvsWHU
    (C) CHEvsBOU
    (D) STKvsMCI
    (E) SOTvsAVL
    (F) WBAvsTOT

    -------------Butland, Schmeichel--------------
    Bellerin, VVD, Moreno, Nyom, Richards
    -------KDB, Ozil, Mane, Mahrez, Anya-----
    ------------Aguero, Lukaku, Vardy------------

    2.7 ITB

If this was your squad, what would your priority be for next GWs transfer?

I'm thinking Mane -> Coutinho if he's fit and looking sharp this week, but open to suggestions.

    VVD -> Alderweireld tempting also.

VVD > Alder first as Mane away at Palace could be good. Mane > Cout week after.

Least professional/fit teams V most professional/fit teams over Christmas.

Is there anything in the fitter teams having a higher probability of giving a pasting to the lacklustre and less fit teams over the busy festive period?

Is there any basis on this for transfer considerations?

Which games do you think this will apply to? Looking at Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool specifically as I think they'll fare best.

I have Aguero and won't captain him despite his good record against Stoke. The reason is he is not 100% fit. You just feel it. He is still fragile. With every tackle, every knock he falls to ground clutching something. Stoke are known to be rough tacklers. Adam and Shawcross are a good example and I am sure there are others. I fear a stupid tackle on Kun makes him fear for himself and ask to be substituted.

    G2G guys and girls?
Biggest decision was who to pick in DEF.

    Hennessey
    Moreno - Dier - Bertrand
    Ozil - FDB - Mahrez - Mane
    Vardy - Kane(c) - Lukaku

    Subs: Elliot; Coleman, Alli, Simpson.

    Squad at present:

    Butland - McCarthy
    Sagna - Dawson - Williams - Rojo - Targett
    Barkley - Ozil - KDB - Mahrez - Anya
    Vardy - Kane - Lukaku

    £6.1m in the bank

Defence is awful, compounded by Rojos injury. Is it worth -4 to sell him (and who to buy) and improve now for future weeks? Already sold Sanchez for Barkley this week and 30 points back in my mini-league.

Can't seem to get any luck injury-wise this season!
