What I don't understand is...why are people saying that Suarez was superb (even the Scouts) and would have got 3 BPs under the old system, etc? He is a striker and a striker's main job is to convert chances into goals. Suarez had loads of chances and didn't score therefore he was anything but "superb".

Even the ones that were credited as Ruddy saves - Suarez made it too easy for him and Ruddy is not a great keeper.

Given the same chances, the likes of Hernandez, Aguero, Van Persie and Torres would have got a hattrick.

He is a good all round player but he's not a clinical striker - you can see why none of the big clubs seemed to be in for him now.

He was actually really impressive throughout the game, hit the framework twice and denied by Ruddy a number of times. Sure, you can say those are missed opportunities, but it was one of those days where luck was just not on his side.

I once saw Rooney miss numerous clearcut opportunities in a game. it doesn't make me think he is shyte, lol. If those had gone in off the bar you'd be saying what a sensational player Suarez is.

I was watching the game in Liverpool with some Liverpool fans and a couple of them, who normally have very red tinted glasses, were starting to turn against Suarez, which was interesting.

Performance - the fact he is so wasteful in front of goal and it is costing them points.

While I think a few of his attempts should have had alot more to them overall it was the Norwich defence which denied him. Whenever he was on the ball there was atleast 3 of them around him and since he's a player which relies on dribbling past defenders he didn't have a chance.

Suarez should have done better but Norwich still did an amazing job.

It was one of the most frustrating performances, no doubt about it. Liverpool should've had the game buried, these things happen in football though when the luck can go against you. Those fans would have been frustrated for sure, of course every fan of any team gets upset with players if they miss opportunities some days.

im also a liverpool fan and im getting frustrated with him
hes cost us about 4-6 points this season atleast with his easy, simple misses
we need a torres or hernandes, torres wouldve won us that game on his own
but theres no doubting he's currently our best player

Also both of Van Persie's goals today were very savable, particularly the second one. I'm inclined to give Suarez the benefit of the doubt, for a little while anyway

Your not gving credit to the goalie esp for that last min save or the defender barnett who was marking suarez, i think he had a really good game. Hitting the bar twice just tells you the whole story. It was a bit of every thing and on another day he could have coemaway with a hat trick.not every goal has to be a great goal.

While I think Suarez is a good player it wasn't one of his best days for finishing. He didn't have many shots where it seemed destined to go in beyond the final shot but I think that was mainly due to the Norwich defence; very close and tight making him take weak shot from imperfect angle.

I think against a less organised defence he would have had that extra second to punish them.

        +1

i also agree with luke kuyt, the service to suarez was not ideal, saw a bit too many long balls to his feet and was suprisedd he even managed to twist and take a shot on goal with 2 defenders behind him.

    Kompany - Bosingwa - Enrique - Simpson - N.Taylor
    Silva - Nani - Walters - Petrov - Dyer
    Rooney - Aguero - Adebayor

Already used my FT (Woodgate > Kompany). Is it worth taking a 4 point hit by doing Nani > VDV before the price changes tonight? Thinking probably not with United's run of fixtures now but Nani was anonomous today - will he keep his place? Mind you, apart from Rooney, they were all pretty poor.

As someone who's had Roo, Nani, Young these past few weeks (saw the Norwich fixture and I thought I'd ride out the following 2 or 3), I'm thinking of WCing and clearing at least 2 of them out. Would be my first knee jerk of the season, but Utd look out of ideas creatively, whilst the looks of VDV are bringing home the bacon. I don't mind being patient but they could be in a serious rut for weeks, months like Chelsea were last season. Fixtures matter little if there's no form there.

this is true, especially considering the side they put out ahead of napoli last time around. The bench players are quality enough to win that game fairly comfortably. mancini could well keep the stars (silva, aguero etc) on the bench in case of emergency, its a wild guess picking city players for this fixture.

Rotation worries for City players next week given they have an easy game and a must win in Villareal in midweek? Mancini must be thinking he can win that game with players rested. A strikeforce of Balotelli / Dzeko, as both inpressed today and Aguero just back from injury, would not be a surprise. I also think that Silva may be benched with Nasri starting.

Generally, when you need to change more than a couple of players, no specific time. I use it early (1st international break) to maximise value increases but too late for that now. The other tactic is around DGWs when they start coming around

Is VDV a better option than Adebayor?

    Options are basically:

    A) Rooney, RVP, Adebayor + Ramsey
    B) Rooney, RVP, Zamora + VDV

    What do people reckon?

    Evening lads,

i'll get straight to the point, had a crap week, 29 points, pre-bonus obviously, and currently 730,905th place, i am devastated after not captaining RVP when i did last week! about as shocking as united's score! ah well, my question is where would you improve the main body of this team barring subs, (they aint my priority as of this moment)

    Given

    Enrique - Simpson - Jones

    Nasri - Mata - Gerrard - Walters

    RVP - Suarez - Sturridge

Im defo getting Torres back in, but what are thoughts on nasri? ship out? he's my only man c cover though, not a regular starter?

Any susggestions for improvement are greatly appreciated (p.s. well thought i was in the points this week, how wrong, how wrong ๐Ÿ™ )

leave torres for the moment, ship out nasri and maybe spend the gerrard money wiser. Also phil jones for me is not a guaranteed starter so id look at shawcross or huth at the moment. Think villa's fixtures take a turn for the worse soon so look at who you are rotating with given.
